Land lords don't do any work. they have the capital to own basic necessities and imperialize off of it. They hire property managers and just sit on their asses syphoning money, and exploiting the principle of compound interest. the argument that capitalism is ethical because the consumer has the freedom to choose their purchase is just as narrow of a perspective, and for the same reason as value theory being as grossly reduced to "the proletariat labor is what creates real value" vs the Ayn Randian theory of "whoever can amass the most capital wins (this means that epipens costing $900 is totally fine despite the fact that they only cost $20 to make)"
