  • Do you dread the stairs?
Do you find it difficult to climb stairs, especially going up one foot after the other?
Stairs can be tricky, especially with osteoarthritis in the hip, knee, ankle or back. Whether you are lacking mobility, confidence and/or strength- this movement may be helpful! ✅
I love love love this step stool because you can use it for a few different things. The link is in my profile for it 🙌🏼
It can be a great way to make the steps less daunting and reduce step height so you can start practicing going up the first step one after the other ✅
Try a few repetitions first and make sure it feels okay. Practice leading with each leg 🦵🏽
Use the railing for support as needed ⚠️
Once you begin to feel more confident and strong- you can try on the full step height.
Strength building unfortunately isn’t instant. So you will need to practice this movement for the next couple of weeks, up to 3-4 times per week to begin seeing results 👏🏼
This can also work for going down as well. Practice walking down using the step stool too.
In order to make other adventures possible like walking long distances, walking up/down hills, sitting cross legged, etc- you need guidelines hon how to build strength in the right places and how to regain confidence 🙌🏼
That’s why I created the Arthritis Adventure Blueprint - an online program that offers joint-friendly workouts, expert guidance, and support to help you stay active and adventurous despite arthritis.
With the Blueprint, you’ll have the tools you need to take control of your arthritis journey and live your best life 🎉
Head to arthritisadventure.com and check out the Arthritis Adventure Blueprint today. Start tackling stairs and other adventures right now 👀

If only that were possible. ALS has robbed me of that. The nerves and muscles are deteriorating. Practicing can’t restore it. I’m glad I can still get up the stairs any way it can be done.

Your videos have been so helpful for me. I am only 43 (in 2 days), but I have broken my R ankle/leg twice in under 10 years and as a result, recently found out I have near bone on bone osteoarthritis in my talocrucial joint :/
My more recent break, last May, which was the worst one, was a tib-fib open fracture from slipping on a gravel path walking downhill (my stability was already compromised since my first break where I broke my fibula near the base and seriously dislocated my foot to the outside 😭). I have been doing physio since last June, but only making so much progress. Your videos are really helping me to make more, including your ones on inflammation and its role in exacerbating arthritis.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it is having a real world impact on my life, and gives me hope that I will be able to do more with my (still fairly young) kids over the coming year ❤

Awesome tip Alyssa, On my delivery route occasionally I deliver to a old 1940's building its got 3 large high cement steps to enter the building .
Its sometimes a challenge to me to climb these up these steps. I wonder Alyssa, to make a building like this didn't people have arthritis back then in the 1940's ??🤔
