Adventures in Yellowstone - Part 1

We started our week long trip to Yellowstone by visiting the park's largest hot spring, the Grand Prismatic Spring. Grand Prismatic is located in the Midway Geyser Basin, and was one of our favorite hydrothermal features. The hot spring has bright bands of orange, yellow, and green surrounding the aqua blue waters. The multicolored layers get their colors from different species of heat loving bacteria.
