1:53 Andy summed it up perfectly for me. No kids, car, extra payments - yeah suddenly it's a bit easier to justify the cost. Still spendy, yeah, but it's a much easier buy for some folks given their situation.
"I'm a dude with disposable income that doesn't have kids or a spouse or car payment. This is what I spend my money on." This is me right here. I've only tried Dragon's Dogma 2 on it so far, but I really like it. It's smooth and it looks sharp. And knowing that I get the best possible performance really makes it worth it to me. I just wish I hadn't played FF7 Rebirth yet, but maybe I'll go for the platinum or do a new game+ run. I settled for 30 fps most of the time on the og ps5. Same with Stellar Blade. It may not show its difference in all games, but in those that it does, it's awesome!
As someone who plays Spider-Man 2 often just to swing around, I noticed a massive difference on PS5 Pro. But yeah, the biggest differences are in FFVII Rebirth and Stellar Blade. I'm hoping Black Myth Wukong gets a Pro patch too.
It is funny that when Andy tested the other modes on FF7, the pro probably gave it the best resolution still. The original PS5 would have looked even worse.
If you thought some of these new games were starting to look ugly in performance mode itwill fix that plus some extra stuff. It's that simple. The extra terabyte is over $100, so that leaves $150 more than base PS5. Do you want the 60fps mode to look crispy on old games and future games? Can you afford it? A year from now millions of people will have one. Buy it when you're ready or don't
Or the TV is missing out on the VRR. Having that feature enables games with unlocked framerate to run at higher framerates. This is just like upgrading your GPU in your PC.
horizon isnt using pssr because their own tech was giving better results than pssr. the new visuals look far superior to ps5. not sure what andy is talking about.
@@jchannelty Its extremely minimal difference for 1000$, how does this sound amazing to anyone. Especially with PS6 few years away, even if your rich I would recommend not buying it.
Lol. Some people are missing the point. Half the package is playing fidelity mode at 60, and not 30. Now it's some games that are less noticeable in 60 then 30 as far as graphics, but I can ALWAYS tell the difference on EVERY game from graphics to performance mode. So if you can't see a difference, then that's the point, but seems like people forget, you're in quality mode now, with 60. Just saying #JESUSMATTERS!!!!!!
Hands down the pro is the better choice if you have the many. Definitely when your TV supports all the latest HDMI tricks. Even older games that have unlocked framerates are a clearly different experience, even PS4 games!
@@BartVandezande Such a dumb statement, if you have the money a 5% improvement is better. Of course this is true but it’s a rip off for what there asking compared to the base model.

The fact they can’t update the console to do this is kinda ridiculous, Xbox just does this kind of stuff with updates so it’s a little embarrassing for Sony to 1000$ console to do it
@ Yes they do, it’s basic resolution upscaling. Sony just made the PSR thing to make it seem new and amazing. Tbh I think they are full of shit for the most part and trying to make up for concord/PSVR losses which are massive losses.
There’s several great games, Jedi Survivor looks fantastic. Spider Man 2 in Fidelity Pro mode w/ VRR set to smooth is glorious on a large OLED. Horizon Forbidden West looks amazing. Andy must have a 13” TV. 😂

I got the PS5 Pro, but only because I had a PS5 & PS4 Pro to sell, which gave me $450. Theres no way I'd pay the full $700 outright.
The ff7 rebirth difference literally feels like a conspiracy. There's no reason rebirth should look as bad as it does on ps5

Yep. If they sorted the base PS5 version I’d buy it right away. More sales for them. Bizarre laziness from Square.
