Thanks! The capos are all cut to different specifications. Some are designed that way and some I cut with a hack saw to simulate alternate tunings and to act as a third hand to hold down the strings. :)
So Awesome! I hope to make it to somewhere that You will be performing in the near future. You are an inspiration to more people than you can imagine. Thank You for being You! Tell them I am sent You, because there is no doubt that He did.
Billy, thank you so much, my friend - I appreciate it! No pressure, but if you want to sign up for Mark Kroos email list at markkroos.com that will let you know when I’m touring in your region. Thanks again, brother!
I usually think of a short cut capo as a third hand that remains stationary or a way to get into a different tuning without actually having to tune the guitar differently. You can really do a lot with them. Thanks for watching! :)
Have you ever been a guitarist that sees a video that makes him think he should just stop playing? In every best possible way, this video has just done that. Brilliant!
Um... I think you guys missed the joke of what Six String Said... if he had a dollar for every note Mark missed, he'd still be broke... broke is little to no money, is it not? Therefore Six String is saying that he missed very few if not zero notes.
Really nice job, Mark. I've been playing piano for decades and just a year ago finally picked up the guitar. It's going slowly, but I keep working on it by watching UA-cam videos. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love this song! Awesome job playing it. Hey Everyone, Mark did a concert at our church Dexter United Methodist Church last year and was great. He'll be returning Sept 1, 2013 to play almost all the music at our 3 services. I can't wait to see you again.
We saw Mark play at the Brink Lounge in Madison last night. WOW, what a talent!! Plus he brings an amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm to the stage. The man just LOVES playing for an audience. See him if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed! Jerry Schmidt and Lisa Johnson
Thank you so much for coming to my church today! I know there weren't many people but I really enjoyed the performance. I myself am a violin player and I love to see someone follow their passion for music! I think I can speak for everyone at Fianna Hills Baptist Church and say thank you and we really loved hearing you shred on that double neck. Especially the thunderstruck and back in black duo. God bless!
Thank you very much, Cameron, sorry for not getting to this comment sooner - we moved to Charlotte about a week after we got back from that tour - bad planning on my part. I had a blast a FHBC - you guys are wonderful people, and I don't think I've ever been that caffeinated at a performance. Hope to see you all again soon!
+Rosemay Ball That was just freaking amazing! I can't get over how you did that. I can't even wrap my mind around how your brain could do that! I am a fan now and I am not a fan of many!
Mark, I have been a musician for over 30 years and pro drummer for a decade. That is the most crazy, completely insane thing I ever saw. MAN! My jaw is on the floor!!
You know what is truly amazing about this? Reading the comments and noticing how often Mark Kroos returns a comment! That there is one fantastic character making some absolutely fantastic music ... I can tell it comes from a man who is the real deal! Thanks Mark Kroos!! PS - I second and third and ... nth the "Mind blown" comments!!!
Mark, you are a true wonder and an absolute blessing to the musical community and the general public at large. Keep up the excellence and keep scootin' brother!
This blew my mind. I love seeing when a fellow musician can create something so origional and amazing! I am now a fan! If you ever come through Colorado, Please let me know!!!!
Hi cody W, the guitar is a standard Ovation double neck, CSD 225 I believe - the foot tapping is actually on a Kopf Percussion Toekicker Stomp box. It's a block of oak with a transducer pickup in it. Thanks for check this one out!
+Finn McCool Thank you Finn! Ya know, I've sent AGT a few videos over the past couple years but have never gotten much response. That's ok though - if they want to bring me in I'd love to do it, and if not it's all good too :-) Thank you!
Haha well thank you Patrick - as I recall that was actually a pretty rough performance of this piece, but man I'm glad you liked it - I had a complete blast that night and look forward to coming back to Madison for a show at the Brink Lounge on the 31st!
Thankfully, someone who has the technique to blow your mind BUT puts it to the best of the music not to the best of his reputation. That was very pleasant to hear--and amazing to see! I'd love to hear you in a few years from now.
+LaaeL Gamer: I do think Mark is an awesome guitar player but there's a clip here somewhere of Roy Clark and Buck Trent playing it together with two banjos. Trent is an exceptional player.
Mark Kroos It defiantly is inspiring, one of the coolest and most impressive things I have ever seen someone do with a guitar. And I would defiantly have no complaints if you were to tour here in southern California. Keep up the amazing work.
a muso friend told me to look at this and I was sceptical, but you blew me away, man what a brilliant brain you must have, terrific talent.... amazing. skills, I am envious of that amazing dexterity.
Oh My Gaaawwwd!!!!!!!!! Totally blew me right away.! Man you must have really low action on that Ovation. That's the first time I ever seen a doubleneck Ovation guitar. Killer dude!!
Once in while you stumble upon pure gold. This was one of those times!
My father passed away 4/2/22 and he absolutely loved listening to your music Mark. We both have been huge fans. Rest his soul. Keep playing mark
God bless man, I know your father is watching down and smiling every time you hear this song
How does this have dislikes. That's pure talent. If you don't like this video it must just be jeaolusy. Good job dude
Morons. . .that's how.
I'd argue that it's more hard work than talent. Being at that level didn't come easy.
They have no skills and hide behind their anonymity.
Well, Idiocracy IS here. I mean, how else could that Gangnam Style video get millions of likes?
I know right?
Thank you very much for those kind words! Glad you enjoyed the videos.
I'm in a biochem class taught by your dad. He plays your music sometimes before lecture. We all love it. And him. And you.
We are so pleased that Mark came to play for us at Grassroots Concerts, Nisswa, MN. See you again soon, Mark!
He used to be octopus in a previous life - a real talented one.
+rodsreel Hahaha, this might be favorite. Thank you :-)
Not a octopus but a Stanly Jordan
Mark Kroos Absolutely Incredible
Being Ambidextrous helps! Anyway it's great
@Gerald Dixon Cummings - "Quatropus!!!!!!!" ROTFLMFAO

I've seen the video a million times and it still blows me away. Its nearly perfection at its finest. Mark Kroos, thanks for the video
Awesome! I only wish I could hear it in stereo, with each neck panned hard left and right. Bet that would be crazy
asighofrelief agree
one can only weep with joy at the talent on display
Thanks! The capos are all cut to different specifications. Some are designed that way and some I cut with a hack saw to simulate alternate tunings and to act as a third hand to hold down the strings. :)
He really hammered that! 😁
Hahaha Kate I suppose so 🤣 ❤️
So Awesome! I hope to make it to somewhere that You will be performing in the near future. You are an inspiration to more people than you can imagine. Thank You for being You! Tell them I am sent You, because there is no doubt that He did.

Some people can play this song pretty nicely, and then there's this guy... hat's off to you sir
Thanks! :-)
I usually think of a short cut capo as a third hand that remains stationary or a way to get into a different tuning without actually having to tune the guitar differently. You can really do a lot with them. Thanks for watching! :)
Absolutely awesome!
Thank you so much, Marianne!
I'm speechless...
Seriously, I don't know what to say.
This is completely amazing!
Have you ever been a guitarist that sees a video that makes him think he should just stop playing? In every best possible way, this video has just done that. Brilliant!
If I had a dollar for every note he missed...I'd still be broke!
I look forward to seeing your attempt!
That is why you write your own music. It always comes out correct, even if not the way others would have played it.
Um... I think you guys missed the joke of what Six String Said... if he had a dollar for every note Mark missed, he'd still be broke... broke is little to no money, is it not? Therefore Six String is saying that he missed very few if not zero notes.
Watched this probably 35 times...and probably gonna watch it 35 times more in the next year...just amazing man

Ticks me off that the best that girl can manage after that is an underwhelmed concrete smile. Or maybe he blew a few fuses in her brain. Who knows.
Mark, I've been a studio musician (picker because I don't read music) many years. I've never seen are heard of this ever before. You are talented son.
