I found a random can of chicken breast in the back of my cupboard. There was little else to eat and I figured it would at least be protein. Honestly I was shocked at how amazing my little chicken salad sandwich came out!!!
The Keystone chicken varies and you can have a can with chunks and sometimes as shown here. It is a simple product and that gives the cook the option to take the flavors any direction they wish. No additives that corrupt or preserve the meat. I would add Swanson and Kirkland to the list of items I would store but Keystone would always out number them. I really enjoyed your no nonsense approach to reviewing these products. I found your semi-analytic approach added confidence in your opinion and removed the innate subjectivity that we all suffer from. Liked, Shred and Subscribed.
Pro tip: scoop the chicken into a container and toss it into the fridge overnight. It'll lose some of that "canned meat" smell and taste. Some, not all.
_Yes_ The chicken is cooked in the broth/liquid/stock. If someone wonders, just taste a spoonful. If you don't like it, don't use it. But most likely you'll like it as much as bone broth or stock. When a chicken recipe like chicken alfredo calls for water use the canned broth and add enough water to it to match the recipe. I don't use tuna water and I rinse beans, but this is different.
Tangent: I don't know who produced/made it, but when I was a kid in the 60's, Mom used to buy these large canned whole chickens and make stuff, usually chicken & rice meals, and I just remember I LOVED it! I don't remember if it was "Sweet Sue" or not though.
Interesting test. BTW, all the brands of canned chicken are "pressure cooked" as a part of the pressure canning process. So, I believe the difference in chunkiness of the Keystone brand versus the Kirkland brand (for example) is due to the texture, type, and size of the chicken pieces, etc., packed in the can to start with, not the pressure canning process itself (for example, the Kirkland had white chicken breast meat only while the Keystone had a combination of dark and light meat chicken pieces. Plus, the Kirkland brand had added ingredients that may act as firming agents for the meat) :-)
Keystone and USDA commodity chicken were the same, chicken is chicken. Use them as a base ingredient, King ranch casserole, crack chicken sandwiches, chicken burritos ...etc. I prefer the mixed white and dark chicken, it tastes better to me.
Thanks for the video. I've been using Keystone canned Chicken with Essenhaus wide noodles to make chicken and noodles for some time now. If you like more flavor you can always add some chicken broth. Value is important but so is my time and I'd much rather open one can and add it to the cooked noodles but that's me. I also use Instant mashed potatoes (with garlic and onion powder) as a time saver. I know my mother is turning over in her grave. Single dad that raised 4 teenage boys here.
valley fresh may not be just chicken and salt but the other ingredients arent bad, no sodium phosphate etc: chicken broth, tapioca starch, rice starch, rosemary extract.
10 minutes walking us through what could have been a 60 second showing of a graph… constant interruptions from the host describing random noises we can’t hear at all…. and absolutely no description on variations of flavors. could not be more useless as a review comparison.
Some UA-cam reviews say Poppeys have the best chicken Sandwich and McDonald’s has the worst. Then another reviewer will say McDonald’s is the #1. Some dudes taste buds aren’t going to be able to determine which one taste better to you. It will literally cost you less the $10 to buy one of each can and determine for yourself which one tastes better. Literally one single purchase of 5 and then you can go forward knowing which one YOU think is best. Not hard.
Keystone Chicken is by far the most natural tasting chicken. No chemical byproducts and much less sodium than the major brands. No competition Keystone is far superior. Ingredients - Chicken , Sea Salt that's it! No dangerous Sodium Phosphate!
I like the internet because random people are so helpful for no reason. Thanks

Thank God for that blessing!!

Great job on this!!!! Appreciate all the work you have done and especially the math LOL
Glad you enjoyed it!
The liquid and fat in the keystone are a valuable part of the product and can be used to make broth, gravy, or sauce for your recipe or meal.

Sweet Sue did make canned whole chicken. Mom used them when we camped, back in the 60's Good times.
Thank you for sharing this at the right time
Glad it was helpful!

I tried the Walmart Great Value brand with rib meat and it was pretty good mixed with mayo on toasted bread. Real cheap too.
I make chicken salad and white chicken chili with the Great Value brand.
Ya gotta throw in some onions and celery with it, and of course tap it with some fresh ground pepper.
EXCELLENT BREAK DOWN OF PRODUCTS

I definitely need to start stocking up
I would like this to be redone, with all the inflation and Shrinkflation of the last three years.
😅 been going on long b4 that.
Before I watch this my POV Kirkland then valley fresh then bumble bee, in that order. Swanson is inedible, never tried keystone
valley fresh may not be just chicken and salt but the other ingredients arent bad, no sodium phosphate etc: chicken broth, tapioca starch, rice starch, rosemary extract.
Most of the canned chicken will have modified food starch, which will make you hungry, the bumble bee has no modified food starch 🐔🐔🐔🍗
You keep saying, "chicken is chicken".
Naw. Not canned chicken.
Id rather pay the higher price for the no-preservatives!!!!
#1 your own
Are these healthy food as every thing now is canned suppose to be not healthy bcz of preservatives added
Just salt.

LOL
Which one tastes the best?
Take it from me Keystone is the only option. Real chicken cooked in natural juices with low sea salt sodium.
Keystone is best tasting by Far!
I personally thought Swanson and Keystone were pretty much the same in taste. Final decision would be your own personal preference.
Don't forget my other videos, such as the canned beef. :)
I agree that Keystone is the best quality.
What Tasted Better! That's the whole story not what some kid says about smell. Incomplete review...

It’s about taste not how it looks….

Why can't you do a proper review without that sheet of paper getting in the way? Just show us the chicken and how it taste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
