Hello, thank you for listening to our music. I hope it gives you some joy and pleasure.
I am pleased that you have discovered our music through this medium. I view this experience as the equivalent of previewing a record in a record store in days of old. However, if you wish to experience the music in its' fullest form, I would strongly encourage you to acquire it in a physical format you can bring into your home. Not only will you then be able to experience the richest version of the music sonically, but you will also be afforded the opportunity to enjoy the tangible artwork, which was conceived in tandem with the music, and serves as a further portal to experiencing the total conceptual and spiritual and emotional content of the work we have labored, lovingly, to bring to you.
I love you,

This song is the anthem of breathing manually
damn it
OH FUCK YOU
Oh no
The best part about this comment is I can forget it exists as soon as I stop looking at it.

I really want to listen to all their stuff but trying to listen to all of swans material at this point in their career is like trying to catch up with one piece
someone they only have 14 albums
someone compared to the rolling stones swans have been consistently good, just ignore the burning world.
Just listen to Soundtracks for the Blind over and over
Try listening to all Merzbow albums.... I'll be at ur funeral
@Connor True, but To Be Kind alone is 2 hours long.
This song is like finally being so happy with yourself that it’s suffocating to others around you.
Cuz ya gotta have, OXYGEEEEEEAAAAAN!!!!!!
I think this is a terrible description
easily the fruitiest way he could've described it lol@@hospitalbruteband

"Most people will die within 10 minutes of total oxygen deprivation. Those in poor health often die much sooner. Some people may suffer other medical catastrophes, such as a heart attack, in response to oxygen deprivation."
this song it's almost 8 minutes, new fear unlocked: dying by hypoxia
Funny that you mention because Gira wrote this song after an intense near-death asma attack.
this song is an anxiety attack
This is a great track to listen to when you’re in space and you broke your helmet outside the shuttle.
Underrated comment
can't be more accurate
Oh shit my helmet broke.
Yo Jhonny put that new Swans.

God, Michael's screams at the end of the track. This album is a masterclass in catharsis, an explosion of emotions. I've never heard anything quite like it
This song is madness. In a good way.
Bass riff really shows the Glenn Branca influence. Reminds me of Lesson No. 2. Rest in peace Glenn
AH STEEL AWL THEE OCKSEE JEEEEEEN
I can listen to this over and over. It's so beautifully primal.

As a metal fan, I have to say that swans is way heavier than most metal bands.
Alfonso Caro especially their older work
Filth and Cop for sure are pretty metal stuff imo
kind of. i think motorhead is heavy too.
Beyond measure.
Swans is more metal than metal itself
this is like a car crash that just keeps going and going as if there is no friction, all to eventually hit a wall and crash into it so hard that it breaks time.
You don’t need to be on drugs to listen to Swans. The music is the drug.
Imagine driving under the influence of Swans
1:09 the echo off that first shriek is perfection
When he said "woof woof woof woof" my dog felt that
This song reminds me of middle school when my anxiety was at its peak, and I would hyperventilate until my limbs went numb. I really like it.

Lmao
XD Most underrated comment
This remains the most deranged technical perfectionist track out there from the last decade, maybe ever, it will NEVER age.

Oof
This is good
Breathing in and out to the beat of the song feels like the proper way to listen, it made me conscious of things around me such as heartbeat and breathing, completely seriously feels like excellent kind of short meditation/mono no aware practice
May be under influence but I feel refreshed Thank God
6:50 The ending of this song... Holy God.
It's just so good, especially in the lasts seconds.
So goooooood n tastyyuy
When he just starts screaming like a wild man, abandoning any semblance of lyric. It must’ve been really cathartic
I feel like I can make a movie with this song in it. It would probably suck though, I'm no kubrick.
Probably a gore-fest kinda movie. Maybe a scene similar to that weird graveyard scene in 'Easy Rider' except the actors are all over middle age and wearing priest outfits and Thom Yorking.

This song is my funeral.
6:10 when you ask Michael Gira what his favorite Commodores song is
Swans are the loudest, heaviest band I've ever seen, pushing Motorhead into second place.
I Know Motorhead were said to have the highest volume? Did Swans officially surpass it?
Hornswoggle Lover39 that was way back in the 80s that motorhead were the loudest. Sunn O))) have bee the loudest for a while
you heard of Daughters?
I think you gotta check out electric wizard homie
I was stood far too close to the speaker stack(stage left) the first time I saw Motorhead play, in a relatively small venue on the South coast of England, in the late 1970s when I was about 15. The first note that Lemmy played was a surprise, not just volume but the movement of the air hard against us. None of could hear each other talk on the way home!
This song is so unbelievably fucking insane, I cant even believe it
Absolutely love this band. I have listened to almost every song in their discography and yet not a single song put me in a state of hypnosis and pure focus like Oxygen did once in my life. Gonna be honest, all I did was just hit a stick on a tree, but holy fuck what was going through my mind was immense and ethereal. It's sad that my friends will never like this.
I detect a hint of Captain Beefheart in Michael’s singing on this one, especially when he does that snarl at the beginning. This is what I imagine Trout Mask Replica would sound like if it was made in the 2020s
i love the staccato yelled lyrics at 3:31 sooo much. i mean i love this whole song but that parts so fucking fun
This is good to listen to while your drowning.
My sister showed this to me the day after I had another nightmare about a nuke hitting my city. In this one I was being chased by the police in the subway. Someone came running down the stairs and yelled for everyone to take cover. I just had time to hit the floor in some corner when everything went white and I was already awake in this world again. This song sounds just like that.
great song to listen to when going for a run late at night in the dark through the woods
This is absolute chaos, i love it
Feels like a song that would have been played during a race on a ps2 racing game
This is like the Dark Souls of Albums
Then their early work must be like trap adventure 2

OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Hey therrrrrrreee...
not sure if any of you noticed this, but at about 7:53 there seems to be someone saying something and a small tapping noise in the background
Imagine playing this to a 1500s peasant in the middle of the Spanish Inquisition
It sounds like chino Marino did speed and recorded whatever came after
that's literally just the Deftones self titled
my god it does! defones
ok but have you listened to this at the gym? it's fucking perfect for heavy lifts
My friend bought me over and not disappointed
woof! woof! woof! woof! woof!
the fact that this isn’t even their 2nd best song shows how absolutely incredible this band is.
for the record the top 3 are
1. Helpless Child
2. The Glowing Man
3. Oxygen
That is a based take
Not even gonna lie, thats my top three as well. Even at that, theyre pretty interchangeable too (although if we're talking like... OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING... glowing man is 1st hands down).
@@um001 tbh probably
I haven't gone through their entire discography yet, but so far Helpless Child is definitely what I'd say is their best so far.
I'd put Killing for Company above Oxygen
This song is so intense I feel it in my chest. Then when the first “oxygen” comes in it’s like jfc
Unrelenting dissonance hammered for 8 minutes straight. It also kinda reminds me of some parts of rite of spring by Igor Stravinsky. It has that same spiritual ecstatic violence.
I think this song is about the moment when you hit a big wolf spider with a broom and a thousand little baby wolf spiders come out and swarm your basement
memory unlocked: I was going to take the momma spider outside (didn't know it was a momma) and my dad hit it with a shoe. the babies grew up to be doctors and honest citizens; we moved
imo one of the hardes songs to ever exist. up there with some true hard screamo for raw insanity
Feeeed me nooooww!!
