Dealing with the devil has its own benefits.
His role is probably to disintegrate the chances of the Hero's Party from ever emerging by charming all the future potential female members of it, weakening the Hero's Party before it can be a threat to the demons.

A unique take on the "traitor" party. They aren't cartoon caricatures, they have/had their own emotional baggage that cause them to behave that way towards Luis; who is no saint, himself. Now, with the timeline scouted, he knows their potential and the world's events. With that he seems to try to earn the respect he feels he's owed from them.
The MC is a weirdo. His childhood friend fell in love with someone else and he is using the advantage of time travel to try to steal her back. That is something a villain would do.
Also, the way the knight girl treated him is unforgivable. Who cares about her past trauma or baggage? She doesn't get to treat humans that way and she doesn't deserve redemption through the MCs actions. If she redeemed herself by her own actions that would be fine but everything is spurred on by the MC. He is redeeming her. She is not redeeming herself.

Villain protagonist is a thing. MC took the deal with the demon out of envy. Makes him more interesting than the cookie cutter MCs these stories usually get.
technically, it's not redemption because she hasn't done anything like that yet. In a way, he's stopping it before it starts.
All in all, the point is gray morality. story frontload both sides flaws. Usually, the one betrayed is either the goodest noodle or only takes revenge on the party after building up some power for a few chapters, but is otherwise chill with everyone else.
@@79bigcat I know that a villain can be an MC. I just don't care for this guy. For me to go along with a story that has a villain as an MC I want the author to make it clear that he knows the MC is a bad person. I don't like it when it's unclear if the author actually thinks that behavior is okay. I at least want it to be clear that these are purely the actions and values of characters and not the author projecting their values. That is my personal preference. You are free to like whatever you like.
As for whether it's redemption or not, it is redemption. Those events have happened. Time travel is not the same as just moving time to a point in the past. The MC has his memories and those events did happen. He just went back to the past. If everything reset, including the MC's memories, then I would agree that those events haven't happened.
If those events never happened then everything would play out the same this time as it did the first time.
@@TurntBucket To be honest saying the MC is a villain is a bit of a stretch. While he's not like a traditional hero I wouldn't call him a villain. There are plenty of other MC that would be easier to say are villains but I wouldn't call the MC of this story to be a villain. I would argue he is a heroic person that has flaws. I say this because the actions he takes through the story would make him a hero.
Heck even the opening of the story have him risk his life to save a mother and her child. Sure the motivation of the MC and his envy and jealousy over the hero wouldn't be exactly called noble. But that what makes him interesting.

I seriously don't understand why people here keep saying "he's turning them into yanderes!" when they're hardly even yandere material at all. If anything they're a little clingy or aggressive in their newfound affection towards the MC but i wouldn't call them "Yanderes". I don't think people these days really understand what is actually a yandere anymore cause the term has been thrown around so many times to describe a girl that's "clingy" or "obsessive".

idk... theres got to be some sort of plan the MC has, cause it sure doesnt look like it how he almost dies here and there whenever he decides to not take the revenge that was such a directive force in the main plot of the story.

I guess the plan was
Step 1: get the childhoodfriend
Step 2: go adventuring with her and get treasure and conections using his knowlage of the future
Atep 3: see the world burn
Step 4: join the salvation army as before but know stronger
But since the girl was out already then the plan exchanged part 2 and 1
and then the other girl make him his subordinate and then he overrated his knowlage of the future without taking into account the exact timeline and that the personality of people changes overtime
Once i finished it i realized he is turning his old party members yandere for him, i wonder how his childhood friend will look twisted with obsession

This is a new take on a revenge story. Instead of killing them he just makes them fall in love with him aka making them into a yandere which isn’t probably good for him in the long run 😅

See I want to see a story instead of the mistreated hero go all the way back to the beginning of their journey, the mc leaves small messages to their past self of to secretly train harder and to do thing that would only be known in the future.
The idea being every time the mc comes back to his future body small improvements are made like, before one kick to the gut would have left him dry heaving, but now it feels a gentle kick, with the idea being the future party has no idea as if suddenly he went from a weaklings into a monster, with the mc leaving messages to his past self to start planting secret items stashed away.
With the entire idea he’s doing such changes that are completely unnoticeable by the party so when he decides to get his revenge it’s far more filling to crush his “team” when they think they are so powerful but now they are nothing but ants.
I just who’s with me on its better to crush someone with overwhelming force when they think they are untouchable vs simply shoving a weakling off the path of a hero

That is almost exactly like the plot of Singularity, a PS3/360 game. You keep seeing temporal messages saying that "X doesn't work", eventually everything goes wrong and you lose your waifu to a time distortion... Or maybe I just sucked at the game and got the bad end? Had a bunch of fun sci-fi guns and felt a lot like Resistance Fall Of Man. Singularly was pretty hyped before release, but it fell flat, still worth a play through.

I like this story, I also like the main character, he’s responsible, works hard, is brave, has a great mind, & he adjusts well to new situations, and so I hope a Part#2 gets made.
I also noticed that the main character, he may still hold a grudge against, those who had tormented him, in his former life.
But he seems to be trying to forgive two individuals, who exist in his new life, while he’s being very cautious around them.
People change over time.
Once you mix the coffee bean with the new cream and sugar, they would be born anew and can never be reverted back.
The demon only gave the MC the chance to become the change which would impact the Hero's Party as a whole.
This is a good story!

I finished reading the web novel... it was a major disappointment as everything became predictable , and >90% of the text was focused on fighting ridiculous monsters. The interactions between the girls were absent.

At the start, it seemed like he wanted revenge but as the story progresses, it seems like all he wanted was to go back in time to just to rizz them.
Those girls are brainwashed by the Hero who is influenced by the church.
The demon only did some time travel shenanigans just so that there would be a timeline where the Hero's Party never emerged in the first place.
The story plotline may not be that great but i feel the mc is interesting

This seems to just be the story of a guy who doesn't completely understand that he was sent back in time. The number of times he thinks his former party members can do things that others couldn't because they did it in the future is quite high. Dude legit can't fathom the fact that his former party members weren't just born with immense knowledge of their fighting tactics and methods.
He completely understands that, it's just that he's been adventuring with them for quite a while so he knows way more about their future selves and struggles to rewire his brain to remember they weren't epic badasses from the start

One of my problem on Most revenge Regressor where the MC's mission is to take revenge on the people who abuse him in the present by going to the past.
In order for that type of revenge to work was by simply making those "Villains" One dimensional characters where they are evil the time they are born so the readers and the MC have the justification to K*ll or T0rture them or "get revenge".
