2 years later and now the Classic Divisions the most famous division in the world, with Chris Bumstead as the 2nd most popular bodybuilder besides Arnold lol
"The waist gets bigger with all the heavy core work we do and all the heavy lifting" and all the insulin you inject too. Personally, the excitement is in seeing those small waists and everything flaring from that. That's what made bodybuilding aesthetic and desirable back in the day. Guys like Robby Robinson, Frank Zane, Brian Buchanan and even Arnold, while he had a relatively bigger waist in that day, his 3/4 back shot and side chest pose started from that twist that made his waist look tiny relative to his thighs and upper body. The look today of the bloated stomachs and oversized thighs is too much imho. When a man's head starts to look like a speck, the sport or art has gone too far.

I trust whatever Jay says. He is right. With the judges now taking things like overtly distended midsections into account , we are going to see a more streamlined slightly on the aesthetic side type of open bodybuilding in times to come.
No Jay does not insult the Classic Physique. He just says it smeared as if Open is a "gladiators arena" when in reality what it is and what separates Classic from Open is that Open is a Circus act. When we see Open we are witnessing freaks who represent what extreme lengths the body can stretch to when enhanced with anabolics of all sorts. We no longer see them as the attainable pleasant looking "classic physique". Open is a Circus show while the other still is what it was born to be. Art in human form. Who ever stopped calling Classic physique bodybuilding needs to reassess his understanding.
The people who think classic physique is "the way it should be", these same people want to see a 6'5" monster dunk over three guys, they want to see a 250lbs NFL beast run 40 yards in 4.5 sec and obliterate a ball carrier, they want to see Brock Lesnar vs Cain Valesquez, they want to watch Michael Phelps soar through the water like he's half mermaid. But these people think open bodybuilding is a freak show? Get real. You wouldn't watch amateur bodybuilding show, you don't watch high school football, you don't watch local amateur MMA fights. Stop pretending like you're all about the "lil guys". You want the freak spectacle! It's why we watch sports.
Classic is about aesthetics, which is what bodybuilding for me is about. Bubble guts, extreme amounts of steroids etc. are the stuff I really don't find aesthetic. Small waist, v taper, x frame, good proportions, a nice flow on the body is what makes it classic. With all these said I admire crazy big and toned guys like Ronnie and Jay too, it is just that classic should stay classic and be respected on its own. It is not just a smaller or like an amateur, lower level version of open.
'''There's No Excitement To The Classic Physique Division'' taking one sentence out an an entire interview to make it sound like Jay hates classic physique

What do you mean he literally said what is in the title
@@brandontovar2978 Yes but they choose this phrase as a title for clickbait even though it convey the wrong tone. He said it in a context where doesn't seem like he diminish Classic Physic but the phrase was choose isolated to seem like it does and they know it. It's the default way that media works. It gives more clicks but damage credibility and people's image.
Few guys are hyper responders. AAS don’t work the same on everybody, but these open guys, they also respond abnormally to peptides. IGF1 receptors make them huge outside and unfortunately inside.
Well I find excitement in keeping a healthy heart and liver.
using roids isnt good for your heart regardless of open and classic. They use less, but are still using huge doses in classic
FRANCO COLUMBU WAS 5'5 OR 5'6 & HE WON THE OLYMPIA TWICE IN 1976 & 1981
JAY CUTLER on Open Bodybuilding VS Classic Physic “Everyone wants to see the Lions fight they don’t wanna watch the mice fight” 😂
Jay saying he wants to lose muscle and then I'm over here trying to gain more from my humble 160 physique, like, bro, can you donate some of that mass for the cause
As an amateur theres no excitement looking at pregnant open competitors talking about eating the same exact diet. More like Gorillas vs Lions. My opinion
Totally getting wat he says. I don't think there is any hate in what he says, great interview..
How old is this interview? Regan left classic about a year ago I believe
Befor roden's victory, he said 13 mr 0
There is 15 Mr. Olympias but in reality Platz was robbed in 81, Nasser in 97, Gunter in 02, and Victor in 07. You could also make an argument that Shawn Ray should have also won in 94 which I agree with.
Bertil Fox should have won in 83.
@@EvangelistRBColbert no I don't think so in my and many others opinions Samir 100% deserved to win the Olympia in 83 he looked outstanding. Bertial Foxx also looked great no doubt and should have been 2nd place in 1983 but he did not deserve to win he deserved 2nd not 5th for sure🙌👊🏼
excitement is in the bubble bubble gut
I trust whatever Jay says. He is right. With the judges now taking things like overtly distended midsections into account , we are going to see a more streamlined slightly on the aesthetic side type of open bodybuilding in times to come.
"There's a size difference between classic and mens open"
Hercules on stage CBum- allow me to compete on classic and mens open stage at the same time
Classic Physique looks amazing. It looks 10,000 x better than the bloated mess of the Heavyweight division.
Looks like classic is starting to pick up more traction🤔👀
What many people don’t realize is in The Golden era, Arnold’s era etc, it was all about the BIGGEST… they just weren’t as big as they are now
I am a fan of Classic but I have to agree with Jay on this one...
Now i want dr greg to react to this🤣
The people who think classic physique is "the way it should be", these same people want to see a 6'5" monster dunk over three guys, they want to see a 250lbs NFL beast run 40 yards in 4.5 sec and obliterate a ball carrier, they want to see Brock Lesnar vs Cain Valesquez, they want to watch Michael Phelps soar through the water like he's half mermaid.
It’s weird hearing a legend say “I’m trying to loose muscle.”
Stay healthy Jay!
Classic is what we want to be, Open is what we want to see.
Not to mention the human growth hormone that is used liberally.
Jay didn't wanna touch on it but everybody knows that "everything grows" means HGH
I already know nick’s strength and power is gonna cover this
'''There's No Excitement To The Classic Physique Division'' taking one sentence out an an entire interview to make it sound like Jay hates classic physique
When they recorded this? Regan doesn’t compete at classic in a long time
It’s not lions vs mice in my opinion. It seems like a battle between titans and a battle between gods. Both have their aesthetics, both are insanely athletic built guys, just they have different goals.
I wish they would put more into the classic physique. Symmetry, precision, and the art of bodybuilding is a beautiful thing. Bigger isn't always better.
this interview is already 2 years old.
There not a single nucleus of BS in this man. The most intelligent Bodybuilder ever.
The bunstead breon battle of the last two years has been better for bb than the fiasco of 19/20/21 open
Classic is way above and beyond bodybuilding nowadays! All the bloated stomachs is out of control now!
Golden Era forever 🙌🏻
