I just finished listening to her "I Have Nothing" 20 seconds ago. That's a fantastic rendition, speaking of a "belting sound." It was done a year ago, beginning of 2019.
I love the fact that Angelina dont flaunt a high pitch or such, just to show of her range . I find it so soulful , heartfelt, and with such ease . I'm in aw of Angelina's developement, and what she does feels like a kind of magic 💕✌ We are so lucky, we have got a lot of new singers lately, with remarkeable skills , all like a "one of a kind", it feels like.

At age 13...such expressiveness and intensity of raw emotion! That she organizes and arranges her work is SO amazing! She's now playing guitar as well...in her cover of the Elvis early 70s smash hit "Suspicious Minds". Granted, she only strums the red electric guitar, but also, in an homage to The "King", she dons a black...ala' in his 1968 comeback TV concert...leather outfit and sports a Priscilla Presley beehive hairdo. Her kid sisters are so sweet and beautiful in the video, which showcases her naturally lowering vocal register. Amazing talent!

Many great singers lack the artistic, emotional expression of Angelina. AND, she's only 13 yrs old. It's hard to imagine how she can equal this performance in the finals. Can't wait.

So I grew up in a time when Queen was everything, listening to bohemian rhapsody in its original form. Getting ready for school and singing along to “I want to break free”. It was everything back then for us. So growing up I’ve heard many people mutilate this song and not really found anyone who could even come close to doing the song justice in any way. Then I heard this version by Angelina Jordan and my jaw hit the floor in a really good way. Please bare in mind that I can hold a note about as well as a bucket with no bottom can hold water!! But to hear that song done in that way was so hauntingly mesmerising that suddenly all I could hear was her voice, and that was crazy amazing. And it is the first cover of that song that also does it any justice. I was 12 years old in 1964 when I first heard “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles. After listening to that and the flip side of the 45 RPM, “I Saw Her Standing There” hundreds of times, I literally remember feeling an electricity in the air that something was changing in our world (as much as I could at age 12). I am 68 now and, after listening to Angelina Jordan sing, I feel that same electricity once again. We know the impact that The Beatles had (and still have) on the world, and I truly feel that Angelina could be as influential as them. She is destined to be a superstar!

These young children are taking music back to its artistic form. That was all but lost after the seventies, when the music industry became all about a paycheck. Today kids aren't doing it for the money. They are doing it for the love of music, and that's where it began. UA-cam has given them a venue to show their personal uniqueness without selling their souls to record labels. Isn't it great that young kids that are just stating out, are going old school? Exactly 13 on this song and per her mom. She has been singing, jazz and blues and she loves Ada Jones and a lot of other blues and jazz artists and she’s been singing since it’s been one and all of this comes directly from her mother.

Angelina arranges her own music. She has been singing in front of people since she was young, not that 13 is a ripe old age, but I have never seen her nervous or afraid. She has sung in front of large crowds and small gatherings and she approaches them both the same. She was invited by Quincy Jones to sing at his 85th birthday celebration. He had heard her sing, 'Fly Me To The Moon' it may have even been his arrangement. He was very taken with her. I think I read somewhere where he compared her vocal ability to Michael Jackson. That as a young artist was the best he had seen since Michael. I haven't been able to find a direct quote, but I have read a couple of times, and since I think of her that way...... Anyway I think she is very good with conveying the emotional intensity of any song she gets a hold of. She finds a way to the center of your heart and jams all that emotion into you somehow. She has a special kind of soul she sings with that I can only believe will become better with age. Anyway she sings an acappella version of, 'I'm A Fool To Want You', that has no right coming out of a 7 year old's mouth. She starts it much like this song, without a pitch-pipe or piano note to get her started. I have heard a lot of young singers, older ones too, that have trouble with a song like that. I really enjoyed your thoughts & comments on Angelina Jordan's version of Bohemian Rhapsody, you were spot on. I saw this little girl way back when she won Norway's got talent. She came on with her long, dark hair and barefoot, because it made me more comfortable that way. What an amazing talent she has.
No contest. Grace isn't close and lacks the multilevel nuance and purposeful emotive technique Angelina incorporates, but Grace's song writing skills are excellent.

She is now 17 and her music has done nothing but improved her style hair growth. She also does a lot of her arrangements of songs and she is a musical producer. She produces some of her music on it. So many songs to recommend! A million years ago, Born to Die, Shield (her own song) and others when she was competing in Norway's got talent. You won't believe she was only 7 listening her singing "Bang Bang", "Summertime", etc.
What a great breakdown and analysis of this performance. I've seen and listened to quite a few people (some voice coaches) attempt to explain what this phenomenal singer is doing with this song, and (IMO) your's is the best. I learned several new things from your take on it. You have a new subscriber in me. And I think many of Angelina's fans will feel the same. Angelina is a phenomenal singer. But she is also a fantastic (re)arranger of other's songs. And then she has the unique capacity to modify her voice to fit the new arrangement. At age 13...such expressiveness and intensity of raw emotion! That she organizes and arranges her work is SO amazing! She's now playing guitar as well...in her cover of the Elvis early 70s smash hit "Suspicious Minds". Granted, she only strums the red electric guitar, but also, in an homage to The "King", she dons a black...ala' in his 1968 comeback TV concert...leather outfit and sports a Priscilla Presley beehive hairdo. Her kid sisters are so sweet and beautiful in the video, which showcases her naturally lowering vocal register. Amazing talent!

So I grew up in a time when Queen was everything, listening to bohemian rhapsody in its original form. Getting ready for school and singing along to “I want to break free”. It was everything back then for us. So growing up I’ve heard many people mutilate this song and not really found anyone who could even come close to doing the song justice in any way. Then I heard this version by Angelina Jordan and my jaw hit the floor in a really good way. Please bare in mind that I can hold a note about as well as a bucket with no bottom can hold water!! But to hear that song done in that way was so hauntingly mesmerising that suddenly all I could hear was her voice, and that was crazy amazing. And it is the first cover of that song that also does it any justice. I was 12 years old in 1964 when I first heard “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles. After listening to that and the flip side of the 45 RPM, “I Saw Her Standing There” hundreds of times, I literally remember feeling an electricity in the air that something was changing in our world (as much as I could at age 12). I am 68 now and, after listening to Angelina Jordan sing, I feel that same electricity once again. We know the impact that The Beatles had (and still have) on the world, and I truly feel that Angelina could be as influential as them. She is destined to be a superstar!

These young children are taking music back to its artistic form. That was all but lost after the seventies, when the music industry became all about a paycheck. Today kids aren't doing it for the money. They are doing it for the love of music, and that's where it began. UA-cam has given them a venue to show their personal uniqueness without selling their souls to record labels. Isn't it great that young kids that are just stating out, are going old school? That's a great thing. Most of today's music sucks.

Angelina arranges her own music. She has been singing in front of people since she was young, not that 13 is a ripe old age, but I have never seen her nervous or afraid. She has sung in front of large crowds and small gatherings and she approaches them both the same. She was invited by Quincy Jones to sing at his 85th birthday celebration. He had heard her sing, 'Fly Me To The Moon' it may have even been his arrangement. He was very taken with her. I think I read somewhere where he compared her vocal ability to Michael Jackson. That as a young artist was the best he had seen since Michael. I haven't been able to find a direct quote, but I have read a couple of times, and since I think of her that way...... Anyway I think she is very good with conveying the emotional intensity of any song she gets a hold of. She finds a way to the center of your heart and jams all that emotion into you somehow. She has a special kind of soul she sings with that I can only believe will become better with age. Anyway she sings an acappella version of, 'I'm A Fool To Want You', that has no right coming out of a 7 year old's mouth. She starts it much like this song, without a pitch-pipe or piano note to get her started. I have heard a lot of young singers, older ones too, that have trouble with a song like that. AJ's videos have been viewed over a billion times on UA-cam, and 3 billion times on FB. This does not count Instagram, or TikTok. We don't just have a STAR in AJ, we have a SUPPER NOVA.
She is now 17 and her music has done nothing but improved her style hair growth. She also does a lot of her arrangements of songs and she is a musical producer. She produces some of her music on it. Best way I can describe her as a musical prodigy and that’s what I’m gonna leave it as far as the type of singer she is.

So many songs to recommend! A million years ago, Born to Die, Shield (her own song) and others when she was competing in Norway's got talent. You won't believe she was only 7 listening her singing "Bang Bang", "Summertime", etc.
What a great breakdown and analysis of this performance. I've seen and listened to quite a few people (some voice coaches) attempt to explain what this phenomenal singer is doing with this song, and (IMO) your's is the best. I learned several new things from your take on it. You have a new subscriber in me. And I think many of Angelina's fans will feel the same. Angelina is a phenomenal singer. But she is also a fantastic (re)arranger of other's songs. And then she has the unique capacity to modify her voice to fit the new arrangement. History was made, If anyone's brave enough to do this song, they'll be doing her rendition of the song & they'll be compared to her, for it's her song now. Think of it , she took a iconic classic rock opera & stripped it down & turned it into a jazzy/bluesy soulful ballad at age 13. Please support her music, CD's, iTunes, ect.. Put her on your playlist...So many (even Disney) producers have been trying to get her to sign with them. Her & her mom just tell them no, (she wants to finish school 1st). They would just ruin her & spit her out once they made their money off of her. Her family is very protective of her, they even formed her a production co. (Angelina Jordan inc.) So she can go to school & be free from contracts & explore & do music the way she feels it should be done. She's a talent that comes by once in a lifetime maybe once every hundred years. Angie is music. She can do any genre & sound better than most originals & she's still very young too. She’s 14 as of 1-10-20. She made her outfit using the pattern of an artwork, of her grandmother's She makes several of her outfits too.
A God given voice & talent. What amazing timbre, tone, texture, vibrato & amazing rare skill of tremolo & the pitch perfect skill also ect ect..
