That’s so sweet that Buffy is concerned about Willow. Them being that close in such a short time is sweet too. Your chicken needs a friend. They are flock animals. Put hardware cloth around the run so nothing can pull them out & nothing can come in. Also put it on the outside on the ground around the run so nothing can dig to get in.
Both horse's did very well. I loved when you were spooning Buffy. Keyboard people think they know everything. You and Lou do what you both think is best and the heck with everyone else. Their your babies they're healthy happy and thriving. You are both loving people and the babies love you bsck.

Horses were really good...they can tell a good farrier. We had a mini apaloosa..(Little Jack)....he was adorable. Dan....watch videos on training horses to come to you when called...Monty Roberts wrote amazing books after spending yrs in Montana with wild herds..... I think youll be surprised. Ive known horses sweat under the halters...which makes it itchy.....scratching it on fences can become a real danger.

The horses did great. I saw those halter comments on Jake or Bri's page, telling them to take off Spike's halter. I'm willing to bet that 90% of them have never even been on a farm. They need to go buy themselves some land and go rescue some horses. Then they can video them caring for the horses and let us critique them. Thank you for sharing Dan & Lou. Well, I grew up on a dairy farm and had horses all my growing up, was on horses even as a baby. We actually rode horses to bring our cows up for milking. We did not leave halters on our horses when they were turned out in the pasture.
@@retha1875 Depends on the pasture, how big it is, are there shade trees with low hanging branches? then yes take the halter off but in a small enclosure close to the house with good fences and attention to them every day I don't see why the halter couldn't be on until the horse gets used to the place and it's new owner.
No worries Dan. Most of us know you love your animals and would never knowingly put them in harms way. You have a very good reason to keep the halter on Willow until there is trust on both sides. She is a beautiful horse, but then, so is Buffy. 😊🥰❤️❤️❤️
I think both horses did very well, and I agree with you Dan. Build the trust with the halter and then you decide when it feels right to remove it. It hurts nothing but does give you a better way to teach her the dos and don'ts. A horse is not going to be manhandled without putting up a fight and people need to realize that horses can be extremely dangerous when they feel threatened and just being stubborn for whatever reason. It's always best to be safe than sorry.
Do what you feel is best for your critters. Take everything as a suggestion but do what you believe is correct. I enjoyed this video, so happy they are besties. 🐎🙏
From all the videos I’ve seen, all of the Morrow’s do a great job with all of their animals. No one is perfect, and every day is a new learning experience. The ferrier was amazing. Great video.❤❤

Dan, New Englander here. Grew up around horses / lower middle class back yard pets. We always kept halters on. I've never seen this type of hysteria about halters until comments on Morrow Hill horses. I'm with you buddy. Oh and there was one biter. My older brother would bite him back on his nose. The biting stopped.

Dan I ran an animal sanctuary for almost 20 years , at 1 time I had 48 rescue ponies from the slaughter yard ... As we caught them bathed them , groomed and did feet , we put halters on them and kept them on for months while we trained them, and got them ready for rehoming ...I NEVER EVER had one get caught up by the halters ...People who know horses know it's kinder to halter them than tie them up for hours a day

Mr. Lewis did an awesome job & was very patient with Willow ,Buffy & Dan-O 😂😂. That little spitfire was a nervous wreck about what was being done with Willow! Maybe biting Lou was her way of asking for help!! 💯 understand about the halter but could you please get her a prettier one. A girl needs a stylish halter to go with the newely manicured tootsies😉
Dan and Lou, i love all the animals you have obtained over the past year or so. Willow is a beautiful horse and you were warned that she was a biter, but maybe she has a reason to be that way. As for the halter, i am not by any means a horse person but i grew up with a neighbor that was and she allowed me to help her with her horses. She bought a new horse and imnediately took the halter off against the advice of her trainer (she showed the horses). It would take her hours to catch the new horse for farrier work, medications and even saddling up for training purposes. That being said, i knew that you left the halter on a new horse, like you said, until she was trust worthy and she would come willingly for whatever needed to be done. I dont get why so many people think they can tell you or anybody what to do with your animals. We see 30 minutes or so out of your day and should be grateful for the video entertainment, not an excuse to criticize. Also, I love yhat you named your temaining chicken Pollo Uno (ine chicken). I had to laugh at that and Gunner protecting is perfect. Keep doing what yall are doing.

The laying down of the horse, followed by snuggling & being the big spoon is a tried and true horse gentling technique. Horses are natural followers but, sometimes they need to be reminded that they can trust the human as boss.

Here is one thing you need to know about horses. they work with your emotions, so don't worry about what others say every horse is different. The one main thing you have to do is get to know her emotional stability and make sure you are emotionally stable when working with her. She can sense you confidence and will draw her own confidence from you. If she senses nervousness from you she will be nervous and have a harder time trusting you. So ignore all these so called horse experts for the most things and trust yourself and your horses and before you know it you will spoon Buffy and Willow will spoon you they are very intelligent animals.
I am so auprised how mean and hateful people have become. I’m 81 years and shocked at how people treat others. It’s no one’s else’s business what you do. Not one person asked for your advice. You are stronger than me. I’d be deleting people who are hateful. I love and watch everyone in your family except one (not blood). I simply do not watch her.
Horse people - what we called them at the feed store I worked at, are a breed all unto themselves. Do what you think is best and block the ones that bug you.
I'm with you on the halter till she knows you well enough to walk right up! I am nervous about her with those T-posts. Ask Lester if you can use the caps/protectors he was sent for the JL since he doesn't need them right now they can be replaced if he doesn't just completely change the fencing there before ever taking the horses back over. I'm positive the person that sent them wouldn't mind them being used to protect Willow In the current rather than Voo in the future! I know if I gift something but the receiver sees a bigger or more urgent need for it I don't mind as long as they aren't putting any risk on their household and pets by doing so!

Here is one thing you need to know about horses. they work with your emotions, so don't worry about what others say every horse is different. The one main thing you have to do is get to know her emotional stability and make sure you are emotionally stable when working with her. She can sense you confidence and will draw her own confidence from you. If she senses nervousness from you she will be nervous and have a harder time trusting you. So ignore all these so called horse experts for the most things and trust yourself and your horses and before you know it you will spoon Buffy and Willow will spoon you they are very intelligent animals.

I am so auprised how mean and hateful people have become. I’m 81 years and shocked at how people treat others. It’s no one’s else’s business what you do. Not one person asked for your advice. I'm with you on the halter till she knows you well enough to walk right up! I am nervous about her with those T-posts. Ask Lester if you can use the caps/protectors he was sent for the JL since he doesn't need them right now they can be replaced if he doesn't just completely change the fencing there before ever taking the horses back over. I'm positive the person that sent them wouldn't mind them being used to protect Willow In the current rather than Voo in the future! I know if I gift something but the receiver sees a bigger or more urgent need for it I don't mind as long as they aren't putting any risk on their household and pets by doing so!
