Today, I will take you to visit the Potala Palace, the world’s highest palace with a history of 1,300 years.
As the landmark of Tibet, the Potala Palace is famous for its white and red buildings. But do you know that the white buildings and the red buildings were built at different times and for different purposes?
In this video, I will show you the details of the majestic Potala Palace at the top of Red Hill in the center of Lhasa city. And tell you something secret about this legendary Palace.
Just follow my steps to enjoy a visual tour of the Potala Palace.

Hey Jamyang, you showed a glimpse of a small island in the lake behind potola palace. Is it the summer residence of the Dalai Lama? Please show more of that in your next video. It looks lovely.
no ,the small island is a small tibetan temple. the summer residence of the dalailama is the Norbulingka (ནོར་བུ་གླིང་ཀ罗布林卡)，it is 2 kilometers west of Potala Palace .

The Dalai Lama does not live in the Potala Palace nor does he live anywhere in Tibet. He has been living in exile in Dharamsala, India since 1959.

Surreal that in our lifetime we witness the passing of Tibetan culture, it's relics turned into heritage sites, decommissioned and dethroned, lost into history. Very sad when things pass away that were so once beautiful and vibrant. Such is life.

@@jen7926 I have talked with tons of tibetan Chinese youth in Tibet ,most of them ,especially under 25 years old ,don't know the dalailama ,they even don't care .to them ,the dalailama is a foreigner who has nothing to do with their lives .I never heard them talk about him .don't feel bad about this ,in some situations the dalailama is just a trouble or a joke to those young people .if some people talk about the dalailama all the time ,he or she must be very old in Tibet .
