I picked this one up today. It is by far my favorite Green River bottle, even better than the best single barrel or cask strength single barrel I have had!
We got Green River in Oklahoma a few months ago, I picked up the black label bourbon pretty quickly and I adore it. It's cherries on cherries on cherries, really great. I hope we get this soon, I'm dying to try it
Just bought a bottle this week in Dallas Tx for 47.99. I have to agree with the tasting notes. Getting alot of spice with a kick of citrus, vanilla, caramel and a bit of mint, barrel char and maybe some dark fruit. Really good for the price. Will def buy again!
Great review, I'm looking forward to trying it. I bought this in Columbus Ohio 3 hours ago today July 27th 2024. OHLQ actually has this listed at 59.99
I completely agree. I bought this 3 weeks ago, and I believe secondary price would go up soon. Great flavor profile and I couldn't tell it has high proof. Very cost efficient, and high quality compare to its price.
Thanks for the review. Passed by this store pick at my local spot. Will try it out. Like to see you do a comparison against Blue Note uncut unfiltered, 1792 full proof and Elijah Craig BP b2024.
Picked it up today at Binny's on sale for $39.99. I have to say, it's really good, not as hot as some other higher proof bourbon is, I really like this.
I've only had the GR single barrel before but I'm really impressed with it so far after 3-4 pours. I'm going to pick this up once I find it. Rare breed is usually my go to barrel proofer and it's actually just a smidge cheaper than this where I'm at in upstate NY, but I'm always looking to try new stuff.
Nice review Jason. I have not been a fan of Green River bourbon and wheated. But like cask strength so will probably get one to try. Friends can always drink it as they like it well enough
As far as similarly proofed and relatively similar price point that everybody should be able to get, the two bottles that come to mind to put it up against are Rare Breed and 1920. They are all within a couple proof points of each other and within $10. Can’t wait til I see this one hit the shelves!
Awesome review as always. This Definitely needs to be compared to Rare Breed Barrel Proof and if you have one of the higher rye recipe options from Four Roses Barrel Strength!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Been riding the Green River train for a while! NC is hard to find the Rye, so I'm sure I'm going to have to hunt for this one, awesome video as always!
Sitting here sipping my first green river straight bourbon, and at $30, I’m very pleased. So this seems like a no brainer to go out and try, thanks for the review. Sorry your Mets trip to London is going to be ruined, sorry not sorry, Go Phillies! Cheers Jason
I picked up a Green River Full proof "single barrel" store select when I was in Dallas. I must say that I found it to be harsh. Yes, it's 119 proof so I expect strength but most JD-SBBS drink a lot smoother than the Green River, IMO. Maybe the generic Full Proof will be better than my store pick?
I come to notice that 7yr is like my sweet spot. I’m not a fan of bourbon aged too long. I noticed all my bottles that I like the most are 7 yrs old mark with the exception of my Balcones which I like also but it’s only aged 2 years but taste 4-6.
Full proof is barrel entry proof. Full proofs are cut back to barrel entry proof as opposed to cask strengths and barrel proofs are not cut back. Thats why full proofs (like weller full proof) are typically always the same proof on every release, but cask strength and barrel proof, like eh taylor barrel proof, vary by release. Rare breed is the only barrel proof i can think of that is always the same proof, and green river full proof is the only full proof ive seen that varies. There may be others, but those are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head. But yea, full proofs are cut back to barrel entry, and cask strength and barrel proof are as it comes out the barrel
@@jacksmith2315 I'm aware. He said the proofs for different batches will vary, which means that they're not bringing it back to entry proof. (Hence why I thought it was curious that they weren't using the term as we'd normally think of it.) It sounds like it's more of a "batch proof."
I feel like “full proof” is the wrong term on the label. Doesn’t that typically mean proofed down to what it entered the barrel at? Their site says this is “barrel proof”.
this is what i've been wondering ever since they dropped the label. Jason, thx for answering. That's the best conclusion I could come to as well, but I still think it's just a stupid thing to do, with the de facto standard set in the market by other brands. Why not just say barrel proof. I know it's kinda nit picky but I can't seem to let it go! 😂🤦♂🤷♂
@@bryanmacke I am with you on this. "Full Proof" has been understood to mean "barrel entry proof" for a long time, so this seems deliberately confusing.
@@bryanmacke Green River's website says that the Full Proof "is a small batch of select barrels, blended and bottled at barrel strength." (So why not call it "barrel strength" instead of "Full Proof?"

I just picked up a bottle in the KC area for $39.99. I can’t wait to try it. The guy at the liquor store said it’s one of his favorites.
sounds like a banger of a bottle green river is crushing it

This is a great bourbon ! Great review Jason and thanks for turning me to it !
Just picked up a store pick of this for 64.99. Total cherry bomb. This is seriously good juice.
Love Green River! The price is great. Everything from that Distillery Rocks.
Watched this video and two minutes later, get an update from Seelbach's that they have it for retail. Boom!
I picked this one up today. It is by far my favorite Green River bottle, even better than the best single barrel or cask strength single barrel I have had!
Jason these guys are hitting it out of the park and this is just another proof of it! Price point on their stuff cannot be beat

This is a really good whiskey. Nothing crazy, but just a really tasty higher proof whiskey.

They finally came to arizona with ben holladay! I just picked up a bottle of full proof and can't wait to crack it :) still looking for Ben haha
Jason, love the videos. Big fan of Green River. Just ordered my FP online. Looking forward to delivery.
Just stocked this to the shelf last week. Can't wait to try it

Love Green River. I have had 3 different Green River Single Barrel store picks Full Proof 119 Proof. So good. 🥃
Have yet to see this in Ca
Ideas for comparisons:
Cask Strength Pipe Dream
JT Meleck High Proof
Cask Strength Makers/46
Ben Holliday Rickhouse Proof
Penelope Barrel Proof
Rebel Distillers Collection
OGD 114

Just picked up an EC private barrel barrel proof. Amazing pour.
I like the other Green River products. Can’t wait to try this one! Big value whiskeys.
Pick up one of these today. Nice sip while getting your thoughts. I agree buy 2, or more!
I love your pick as always, but really look forward to trying this one
Just heard about this a day or two ago. Gonna have to find this one. Sounds like my kind'a Bourbon! Thanks, Jason.
Saw last weekend at a market in MI a Single Barrel Full Proof store pick at 59.99. Age statement 6.5 years.
Green River Road s making some good stuff. I did pick up a single barrel pick here recently
Awesome review as always. This Definitely needs to be compared to Rare Breed Barrel Proof and if you have one of the higher rye recipe options from Four Roses Barrel Strength!
Picked up for $59.99, $64 with tax....but will see....great video....appreciate it
I've been loving James E Pepper barrel proof lately. I wonder how the Green River would stack up.
love Green River rye, next stop full proof rye!
The algorithm agrees! This will be a very nice addition!
Hope to see this one in Missouri soon.
New riff single barrels might be a little younger but could be similar with variable batches
Nice review as usual! I haven’t had any Green River yet but this might be the one to buy!
I still haven't tried any GR stuff so this may need to be my first bottle...if I can find it. Cheers 🥃
I’m on the look out !!
Thanks for the great review, Jason.

Best thing I've had in awhile.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎. I look forward to the day that this becomes nationally distributed.
vs Makers Cask, ECBP and 1920 quad bass!
My favorite GR now.... its tasty
I've been waiting for this one from you. Only review I trust.
I'd love to see this against Benchmark FP and Larceny Barrel Proof
Love Green River
I think Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered would be a good third bottle for that Triple Bass.
Excited to try this
Hoping they do a full proof wheat!
Old forester 1920 might be another decent comparison, pretty close in proof and price point.
Green River is killing it. Love the price great flavor. Interesting to blind it against Rare Breed
The picks for these are retailing for $65 in CA. I'm torn 🤔 Great review!

It's possible. A couple of the single barrels so drink harsher than others do it depends.
Put it against 1792 full proof and Benchmark full proof
1792 Full Proof for sure. Similar price point too.
And 1920
Sounds great 👍
Just showed up in Virginia

Put it against James E Pepper decanter!
Just want to say i blinded with EC923 and Stagg....and this won but hey , just 1 man's palate
I'm sure I'll pick one up if I see it at retail... but I'm lucky enough to get WT Rare Breed for $42 and OF 1920 for $47 where I am...
Just pitted it against WT Rare Breed… WT beats it on every level. But, I don’t regret buying the bottle. It’s a fine bourbon.
double bass with ben holladay rickhouse proof
I've already contacted my local store and they're going to hook me up🥃❤️
I'd like to see it against an old Forester product
Is this sourced?
Nope. All there own stuff
They didn't go with barrel entry proof as "full proof," eh?

Green River Full Proof vs Smoke Wagon Desert Colt vs Benchmark Full Proof vs Rare Breed
$54.95 + tax here in N.C.
Triple bass asap... MMCS even though it's 15 dollars cheaper, MM46CS is more on par with 50 to 55 bucks, 1792 FP.. Quadruple bass
I feel like “full proof” is the wrong term on the label. Doesn’t that typically mean proofed down to what it entered the barrel at? Their site says this is “barrel proof”.
There isn't any legal distinction. Historically full proof has been entry proof but it doesn't necessarily have to be.

unless it's not really barrel proof. I'm guessing it's not. I've seen some barrel proofs drop and they're all between 120-130.
