All I can say is - 'I'll always be a sucker for a sweet needle-drop...' :D I use to work for HMV in the UK in the late 80's early 90's to(no one ever said that tho) :D
Loved the Kiss memorabilia!.. funny all the places albums are showing up these days... I couldn't agree more about the prices though.... keep e'm spinning!!
Another Great Video Frank & I'm happy that you got an autographed picture of KISS personally signed by Gene Simmons. You deserve it & I Love the fact that Toys R Us in Canada sells records. That is Super - Cool man. Anyway I really enjoyed your newest Video & I can't wait for the next installment of CHANNEL 33 RPM !!! I'm still Spinning Frank 👍🏻🪙👍🏻
Hi Frank I've been spinning Paul Butterfield, Electric Flag & Mike Bloomf ield live at the Fillmore West ,love the theme tune to your Friday night video's. All the best from Rob in the UK.
Always enjoy kicking off the weekend on Fridays by watching your videos. Where I live I’m in close proximity to Toys R Us and Sunrise Records. I never buy anything from them. The Toys R Us has a good selection, as does Sunrise. My main issue is many new releases they don’t get because certain suppliers they don’t deal with for whatever reason. Sunrise will also not do special orders for you. If they get it they’ll hold it for 3 business days and that’s it. Kind of dumb if you ask me. I’ve went in numerous times and they didn’t have what I want, so I end up going on Amazon. The guy at Sunrise always tells me to check another location or tells me to check another record store that’s 2 towns over that’s a competitor of theirs, really weird. Also as you said prices are too high which is why I also don’t buy from them.
Great video, Frank!! Soooo cool to get something unexpected, eh? That's awesome. You deserve it for all of your hard work. Question: I know that I asked you your opinion on this year's RSD. But if you were going, is there anything you'd like to get? Keep on spinning, Frank 👍
HMV, where I live, has some good sales includingvinyl. The CD stock has reduced since 2017, but they have a good selection. They are stored A to Z with main groups highlighted. Genres are separate, and the metal section is quite comprehensive. They have the website, and items can be posted to the home with postage added or items can be delivered to the store to be collected postage free. The website also shows items already available at the shop. They do sell other items, too. Audio Technica, Rega, and Project have or are due to release new Turntables. Some are the next version of current models. It's been a long time since you did a video on Turntables. A current top 10 would be appreciated.
I've continued my fairly successful trend of not buying vinyl this autumn UNLESS I have money from offloading used records (so far just my thrift backlog I never intended to keep, but eventually will be 'curating' some titles out of my main collection). All to say yesterday, I picked up my rejects (which I will drop off at thrift) and with my credit I picked up the new The Smile - Cutouts as well as a used Frank Turner - Be More Kind record.
Sweet needle drop? That’s a beastie boys thing. My wife always says “put the needle on the record” or “put a record on the platter”. Both are lines from early BB songs.
Hey Frank! I checked out a local Toys R Us/HMV and yeah man, veeeery pricey. It was also poorly organized and messy imho. Although I did grab a Beatles - Yellow Submarine lp (which I already have an older "Good~VG" copy for many years) for $24.99cad. Cashier scanned and said it was supposed to be $54.99 but sold it to me for the advertised price. Win!! Lol! Everything else was around $50 or greater, so not for me. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
How cool was that Frank. Someone knows you are a massive Kiss fan and through his connections, gets you a personalised, signed Kiss momento. Brilliant !! HMVin the UKis having a real go at selling vinyl again and the selection is also pretty good. Its just that the price is too high and puts the likes of me off !!
Another cool video, Frank! Been spinning more Elvis lately than anybody, but I need more time to spin more of my vast collection. My wife is strictly a TV person and I prefer playing records. Unfortunately, she usually wins out as the TV is in the same room as the turntable!
I think the way things are with celebrities and influence these days the way to sell vinyl is throw a dozen records at a known famous actor or sports personality and get them to make a video. They need to look outside of the music sphere to pull more people in. That headline seems odd doesn't it. Like they aren't surefooted
OMG, $46.99 for Up In Smoke RSD reissue?!? Wow! Hate to admit I found that exact same one for only $20 on a RSD blow out sale. And speaking of spinning albums. I did find a sweet pressing of Big Bambu for $1. Of course no paper and the cover was destroyed. Album was pretty much mint. Definitely took me back to my childhood. CD wise, I found an old cd-r I made of Mark Of The Mole (Intermission) by The Residents. Good thing no one complains about the noise. But it's been stuck in the cd player all week. Definitely one of my favorites by them. I would recommend it, but The Residents are another kind of bizarre world of music. Any chance you got any Frank?
Was that the Utopia CD? If so, yes, I got it and will show it soon. Thanks! The postal service went on strike last week and there has been no mail delivery since... hopefully they settle that soon, because I'm sure there is a huge backlog of mail and parcels waiting to be processed, especially this time of year.
Nothing in my local Toys ‘R Us but ghosts

Hey Frank. A very special Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife. I hope it becomes very special for both of you.😀
Thank you - and to you as well.

I saw that ‘77 KISS tour in Atlanta. My first concert
The Aldi by my house had some Prince albums once.
Once.
I haven’t seen wax there in a while
HMV in the UK has also seen a rise in prices, I was under the impression that records were selling very well...
Always enjoy kicking off the weekend on Fridays by watching your videos.

Hi Frank, Been spinning a lot of Tragically Hip. Recently got their Up to Here anniversary box set.

I don’t remember but I’d bet they sold records back in their heyday, I remember grocery stores sold records when I was a kid.
Nice too see some metal records at Toys R Us I noticed A7x and Slipknot.
Those with Money to Burn, gobble up expensive New Vinyl . Once it reaches saturation point, becomes Bargain City for the rest .

I'm going to be spinning the newly released Carpenters Christmas Once More CD that was remixed by Richard Carpenter.
