People with personalities like yours Eddy makes the world more vibrant, thank you for the love of Scotland you've shown in all these vids, hope you continue to find the great spots weve got all over our beautiful country, sometimes you really have to look! One suggestion for alot of beauty thats close and only an hour from glasgow would be a place called campsie glen, you can walk all the way up through a lush valley of waterfalls to the top of a huge hill that overlooks an amazing landscape! The bus from glasgow buchanan bus station should be called the X85 and takes you all the way there, i believe its the last stop for that bus route!
And this is why so many people come from all over the world to visit Edinburgh 🎉🎉 we honestly take a lot for granted here but yea there’s literally sooooo much to see
"My God, what castle is that?" It's St Mary's Cathedral, Eddy. " Where's Dean Village?" IT'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU, Eddy! "Where's Leith," - well, if you follow that stream Eddy... it's called the Water of Leith - and it empties out into the sea at... Leith! "Where is this place?" Belford Bridge, Eddy. The City Restaurant - well chosen, Eddy, very nice there - but yes, it is a bit pricey.
Eddy, this vid. was a pleasure to watch and if I'd known you were in Glasgow I'd have taken you around my city. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I really love your politeness and good manners. Haste ye back.
Your giggle is infectious and your humour spot on with us Scots especially your Jack and victor jumper!. . Thank you Eddy! I miss living in Edinburgh so I am thankful for you making and sharing this video of my old haunts❤
So glad you enjoy Scotland that much Eddy, earlier in the video you said that it doesn't matter if you have a fiver or a million pound in your account that you would speak to folk no matter what? That statement just says everything about you, i stumbled across your channel and have spent the whole evening catching up on your videos, have laughed a few times at some of the things you have said? Certainly better than watching the TV, all the best mate 🏴👍
Eddy , Your enthusiasm is second to none ! If More people were like you in this world it would make it a better place for sure your always happy and smiling . It’s quite amazing that in a city you can get away from the noise and congestion so easy . You need a battery pack to charge your phone while videoing , City prices can be expensive, especially in Edinburgh and London. Hope you managed to Arthur’s Seat it’s not far from where you were in your last video , straight down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament and turn right and you can’t miss it . Brilliant video’s 👍
Absolutely brilliant eddy, as a glesga man you have did more for tourism than anybody, get back to glesga, brilliant videos eddy mate Take care. 🏴🏴🏴
Love your videos in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh, going off the beaten path to find things not all tourists would see. Your Still Game and Father Ted reactions are great as well, so funny! You bring such joy to your viewers in your videos. Next time you’re in Glasgow you should get the train from Central through to Paisley. Scotlands biggest town and lots of history and beautiful architecture. So many historical buildings and fun facts like the Paisley Witches and the Paisley Pattern which is known worldwide. If you’re venturing through to Paisley I’d love to give you a whistle stop tour 👍🏻🏴
At 13.21 the yellow and the white buildings in the background are in Dean Village. The brown sign said 2 3/4 miles to Leith so if you'd carried on walking along the Water of Leith you'd have reached the port of Leith.
Literally live in colinton!!! Water of Leith walkway is an amazing walk, especially the Colinton Tunnel, racked up many a k through that route. Great to see you've visited bro!
Hi Eddie. I'm not sure if you've heard of it but in Falkirk which Is only about half an hour away from Glasgow. There is a boat lift. It would make a good video if you visit it
Thanks for giving me a shout out which I didn't deserve, as I didn't tell you to go to the water of leith. I confess, this time, that I have not walked where you just walked, and never been to Dean village, even though I've been in Edinburgh several times, to my shame. As you said, it's where tourists don't go. 🙂
The City Restaurant is usually very good, although pricey (centre of town, of course). The building directly opposite your window is “Surgeon’s Hall”. It’s a sort of medical museum, just like the Glasgow one Jack and Victor visit in the STILL GAME episode “SWOTTIN’” (S3; ep2). Remember? The “pickled boaby”? 😄 After eating, you should’ve gone in and taken a tour… you might have seen one on display 🤣
Mate, not every old building is a castle!. There's only the one in Edinburgh, the rest you keep pointing out are churches!. You've stolen our heart too lad. That Nirvana shirt proves you're a real one!.
Nope, there are THREE ‘castles’ in Edinburgh… • Edinburgh Castle • Craigmillar Castle • Lauriston Castle (although more of a Scottish Baronial mansion)
I’m from Edinburgh and at start of video u bumped into a local legend Allan, I’ve known him for a long time nice guy but wee bit crazy at same time lol. Look forward to part 2 if u create one 🤘
Aw mate, I work like 5 minutes up the road from Deans Village, would have been cool to meet you and say hi 😂 I've definitely seen kilt dude walking about before too.
£16 for a fish supper is daylight robbery! 😦 But you’re in Edinburgh city centre so it doesn’t surprise me, nowt like fleecing the poor tourists lol. If you ever have fish and chips in Edinburgh again please try asking for it with salt and sauce, it’s the traditional accompaniment in Edinburgh and the Lothians (I don’t think they do it elsewhere). The sauce is a vinegary brown sauce and it’s sooo delicious. Man I’m hungry now 😂 Hope you were careful around Easter Road and Tynecastle, there are plenty of nutters around both areas. Take care of yourself while galavanting, McCheee!
Many years ago the City Restaurant was a fairly cheap, cheerful and down to earth place. Sadly it's all geared and priced for the tourists these days. BTW, that building across the road from the restaurant is Surgeons Hall, part of Edinburgh University. Don't know if they still let the public in but it's got a huge collection of dead bodies and body parts that were used to train surgeons. Many supplied by the famous body snatchers Burke and Hare.
Ah then there's the great debate, which chippie is best in Airdrie?? Senors on a good night, or Fountain cafe?... admittedly Coatbridge. Overall for consistency, I'd say the Fountain cafe.
I was saying to you 'you're going the wrong way' and hoped someone would point you in the right direction then someone pointed you in the right direction and off you went in the wrong direction once again. Poor guy, never even made it to Dean Village
Eddie, you need to learn how to distinguish between a church (or cathedral) and a castle: they may both be big and look historic but there’s a big difference between them.
There is only one castle and that’s Edinburgh castle. The other buildings your calling castles are actually churches and I think one was a cathedral. As for “Dean village” you were in it and the “Water of leith” runs through Dean village. At one point you crossed the bridge and if you followed the flow of people you would have ended up smack bang in the centre but you went off to the water again instead. The fish and chips were that price as you walked into a restaurant. If you did takeaway they would have been around £8. Hint for the future or anyone planing on coming to Edinburgh, if you want cheaper then look for cafes. And if you’re not bothered then just go where you want. £25 is normal for a restaurant 1 person meal. A cafe your would be maybe £15ish. Edinburgh has a lot of really really nice cafe and pub eateries that you will love. As for the menu at the door as it’s completely normal and you can check the prices first. No one will be offended.
you must have the stamina of a racehorse mate ! They say that youth is wasted on the young !! - but not in your case. You are definitely an honorary son of Alba !
Eddy, love yer channel but for Christ sake, you walk all around Dean village without actually seeing Dean village, we're screaming at the TV. Also you have churches and chapels in Ireland and they look the same they are not castles.
Laughing my ass off here Eddie, I did exactly the same many times, Edinburgh is an ancient city with many crooked vennels that take you who knows where... People tell you it's not a big city. Aye it bloody is. Try walking from Barnton to Oxgangs.
When you going home? I would have loved a meet up! I'm not far from you...I'm in falkirk ❤🙏🏴 Ps, that river is Water of Leith...Beautiful scenery 👌
I lost it when he said “chatting shite” 😂😂 what an infectious personality, love it.
Eddie is quite clearly an honorary Scot. X 🏴❤️

You have such lovely manners, how could anyone not like you 😊
Glad ur enjoying Scotland 🏴
Scottish tourism should pay you for fantastic videos eddy class mate. 🏴🏴🏴
You’re driving me crazy!!! I keep shouting at the TV: “It’s DEAN village, not DEANS village”… and “Arthur’s SEAT”, not “Arthur’s WALK” 😄
I've been doing the same.

Your a good lad eddy ,you just except people the way they are and that's a great asset to have especially in Scotland 😂
Thanks Martin. Everyone has a unique story 🤩
At 13.21 the yellow and the white buildings in the background are in Dean Village. The brown sign said 2 3/4 miles to Leith so if you'd carried on walking along the Water of Leith you'd have reached the port of Leith.
Hilarious Eddy. Best YT channel by a mile. You always make my day.

In north London those fish and chip prices are pretty much what I pay for in local takeaway
Hi Eddie. I'm not sure if you've heard of it but in Falkirk which Is only about half an hour away from Glasgow. There is a boat lift. It would make a good video if you visit it

I always say go to West Port. It's the student part of Edinburgh, it's ten minutes from the Royal Mile, and it's full of restaurants and cafes.
I just booked a room in Haymarket for the end of June
Water of Leith (river) sometimes likes to flood part of Edinburgh.
