Idk, mahn, ig it sorta wud've been like Layla when Eric Clapton played it for his MTV set, it would touch a different side of the song, maybe change it a little.
Teen spirit is possible acoustic with kurt. I say that cause listen how he made man who sold the world sound. Bowie song but kurt put his own beuitful twist on it
Nah nirvana was defently better Alice in chains is good but this was pure gold there is not one bit I could say about anything from this album being wrong the only note he stuffed up was man who sold the world but it actually sounded better he missed a note and quickly saved it you can hear it
I remember when they aired Nirvana MTV unplugged, I just stared at my tv, WOW!!! Then I was in a clothing store and they were showing on their tv, I stopped shopping and stood their and watched the whole thing. What a amazing performance with the whole band. RIP Kurt Cobain 😇❤️🤘
This will always be my favorite album. I grew up with a grunge obsessed mother and she would play their cassette tapes in the car everywhere we went. Especially this album. So I knew every word to almost all of their songs when I was like 6. “Lake of Fire” and “where did you sleep last night” were and are still my absolute favorites. I use to get in trouble for singing “lake of fire” in church 😂😂 When Kurt died, my mother and I mourned as if we knew him personally. Now I’m my mid 30s and I still get chills when I hear Kurt sing “shiver” at the end.
“… most people don’t own it.” I don’t know about anybody else but, once I heard that, and this version of “About A Girl” I had to own it (Bleach)! I’m REALLY glad I did/do.
This is one of your best videoes by far. The background music makes this absolutely perfect. So engaging, so thrilling so I can’t explain. It works SO well. Use that melody more in the back on future videoes. Masterpiece.
I got that "verse chorus verse" tape mentioned, back in '94, but tape 1 was named 'Unplugged' and tape 2 was named 'Plugged'..... I never knew what it was until now.
I remember watching this live well on the t.v the night well the night MTV aired it the first time I was by myself and fully blown away at the time I was a shred guitar player young and mostly learned tec shit like holy wars megadeth are Pantera slayer that's when I started writing acoustic songs and finally understood the importance of the song and not the skill are tec abilities I loved and hated nirvana at the same time but I was young never understood how things work yet these days nothing but love and respect for the icons and feel blessed for being a teenager in the grunge age was probably the best time for music in general when grunge was huge alternative metal was also doing well prong kyuss white zombie ministry I really think nirvana opened the doors for all of it
I really enjoy your vids. Had to subscribe. The one thing I noticed during the album and TV show, they -MTV- did fix a bum note from Krist during The Man Who Sold The World (you still can see Dave react - cringe- to the mistake).
The complaints they got are from the exact kind of people they didn't like. People that wanted to hear popular hits, songs that had music videos, etc. So lame. They rocked, that show is the epitome of perfect
I always like to say "In Utero" wasn't their last album. It was "Unplugged." Technically, "Greatest Hits" cause it has the final song "You Know, You're Right"
Kurt really was something special to be able to select the songs he did and bold to pick almost 50% covers & play them to definitely suit the band. Not to mention have special guest be meat puppets and then cover them. It's a shame what happened with Kurt (dont get me started) but this is the best unplugged and Nirvana at thier best. Just imagine what else Kurt woulda done in life such a shame!!!
The coolest thing about nirvana was how they supported so many underground bands in the mainstream media bands that only hardcore old punkers have heard like flipper and doing meat puppet songs that's crazy no one heard of them and must have been friends with nirvana to get that tour and to this day the only reason that band had any attention in mainstream was the nirvana show those times in history the only time I've ever seen massive rock stars supporting bands that might get a hundred people at there shows was very cool of nirvana and Kurt who really tried to give the underground a huge boost and it really did all age shows in those years were the biggest and best times for local bands in any city was a special time in history
those are definitley incedible but i think both the others you mentioned were some of the best on the set. The album wouldnt be the same without Kurt singing no i dont have a gunt, that part is haunting as always but especially when acoustic
I would have love to have heard Smells like teen spirit and heart shaped box and I just never understand why they would leave out there 2 biggest hits. It is still the best unplugged show to this day.
I also thought it was funny, that he talked about lead belly's guitar being 500,000 and the guitar he was holding when he said it sold for 6 million lol
@@krisfrederick5001 it actually worked out. I prefer it that way. It has a longing effect to it. Amazing how music can do that, especially when writing. Sometimes there are gifts in mistakes
bro, I thought he said "this is off our first album, most people don't know it" but it was the most popular song on the album lol, so I thought he was being sarcastic.
8:37 I think this isnt kurts cardigan...Looks completely different....Where are the buttons? And where is this "fluffy" material? This is another cardigan from him, from 1991, but not that from the unplugged show!!
if I had that cardigan I'd sleep in it and never wash it and smell it I'm a petite 16 yr old girl btw that's why I wouldn't really wear it as an everyday item since it would probably be too big for me😂😭
Yeah it would be cool to own that cardigan..but mixed feelings as he hated to be treated like a god..paying that kinda money for a piece of clothing would make him sick..." Smells like a Teen Sweater"
Honestly it would've been ridiculous if they played smells like teen spirit for that show
Idk, mahn, ig it sorta wud've been like Layla when Eric Clapton played it for his MTV set, it would touch a different side of the song, maybe change it a little.
It might have worked if they played the Tori Amos version.
I agree
Teen spirit is possible acoustic with kurt. I say that cause listen how he made man who sold the world sound. Bowie song but kurt put his own beuitful twist on it
We just will never know man... we just will never know.
The best unplugged album ever in music history!
Stephen Yew I agree ☝️
Yes!
Alice in chains was better but Nirvana's is still good
Nah nirvana was defently better Alice in chains is good but this was pure gold there is not one bit I could say about anything from this album being wrong the only note he stuffed up was man who sold the world but it actually sounded better he missed a note and quickly saved it you can hear it
Sorry I disagree. Eric Clapton unplugged was better and Alice in Chains unplugged was better. Nirvana In the Pines was amazing!
This and the Alice in Chains unplugged are the best ones. I have an original record of this and official dvd of this show. Incredible show no doubt.
Josh Martimez I have both of them, too. Such an excellent album. Love on the DVD, Lane Staley starts a song and plays bad and says a bad word.
The Alice In Chains one is very good yes but this Nirvana one blows that one out of the water. Not even in the same league.
Pearl jam was damn decent too
When you wake up at 4am to hear about Nirvana’s best and last album of Kurt playing his heart out! Love it! Thanks 🙏🏻
It would be ironic if Kurt's Cardigan ended up selling for more than Lead Belly's Guitar!
*Neglecting Inflation
Miss Fortune welcomes you to The internet. Kinky indeed
Nobody would pay 500k for ledbellya Guitar.
To think that price is real shows you don’t even know who they are. Ya big dosser

This album is awesome. I love all nirvana.

4:40 - Damn. This with the background music. Masterpiece video. We miss you Kurt 💔💔💔
This album is PROOF Kurt unleash ALL alternative music to the masses. He promoted other bands. He promoted us.
Tell Frances's crazy ex to give the f*cking guitar back too.
Agreed
Kris Frederick bad, though because it has been auctioned off, now.
@@hewgrebe4771 Yeah I know, at least it went to a fan and not a vulture.

The whole album is awesome but my favs are oh me and the man who sold the world.. 🤘
great content dudeman
Thanks man!
Kurts cardigan should have been kept as history of the band nirvana not sold off to a fan
I agree. It should have a place in the rock n roll hall of fame museum
Well Courtney is all about the MONEY so...
I’m pretty sure it is in the museum in Seattle. I could be wrong but I think I remember it being there

Good video. Nirvana were such a good live band and here, they played so many covers. Thanks.
It was excruciating listening/ watching this for the first time. It was like he was playing at his own funeral.
Ive watched this about 3 times now, great vid buddy.
My wife and got to see Kurt's Martin D-18E in Sydney in April. Was surreal to see in person
OMG... Thank you Soo much for this. You are Soo awesome, dude. 🤗😘✌️
Great video man. Good content never gets old
when you think that Kurt usually bought his clothes in thrift stores, the cardigan sweatshirt went from rags to riches.
The "other side" ended up being From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah.
What a beast of an album.
I got that "verse chorus verse" tape mentioned, back in '94, but tape 1 was named 'Unplugged' and tape 2 was named 'Plugged'..... I never knew what it was until now.
It was the greatest concert ever!
"Plateau" mentions "holy ghosts" but that's not really the same thing as referencing death.

8 x platinum album by RIAA. I prefer this album than Clapton's.
You're not the biggest fan for buying that cardigan. You're just the richest.
"Oh Me" and "Something in the Way" were better than "Come as You Are" and "On a Plain."

Right.
Swelly Bibbs Enterprises yes, they did sound a lot better.
I’d take On a Plain over Something in the way.
oh me is my favorite ❤
I am loving t he quirky comment here :) Like every Nirvana record It splashes us with 2 talents and Phoenix who continuous to rise ......
Thank you for this
Also, I’m so glad they didn’t do the “big hits”. I don’t know if Teen Spirit would have worked.
Im so glad they didn't play teen spirit, that would have just ruined it. They had a mint set list 👍🏻🎸
Kurt had already signed off on making this performance an album....you made it sound like dave and Krist made this decision after his death
I would have love to have heard Smells like teen spirit and heart shaped box and I just never understand why they would leave out there 2 biggest hits. It is still the best unplugged show to this day.
I think the reason may be because they weren't trying to please anyone and they just played what they felt they wanted to play. Simple as that
4:25 now I want kfc lol, thanks kurt
Por favor subtítulos en español!! ! Muchas Gracias 🌻💞
And now the guitar Kurt Cobain used at mtv unplugged is now going up for auction
I believe the first American edition of this Lp was white vinyl. (edit) It was a 40,000 run if I remember correctly.
Personify I think they should of played endless nameless at the show 💀
It would’ve been cool to hear heart shaped box on it. That song would sound good acoustic

Kris Frederick which part?
@@screambluemurder101 The solo at the end, it's subtle, he went to high up the first time through.

Lesser known songs? They played Come as you are.
There was even the request in the audience for In Bloom.

KFC really man!? We all know already what Kurt's fried chicken was man.. Definitely wasn't chicken but. Nuff said
My thoughts exactly. KFC means smack to me.
Could have a few meanings...
Some people want a Pepsi but not Kurt, he want KFC.
How much cigarettes did Kurt smokes at Unplugged ?
He did clearly screw up On the first part of the solo. Which is crazy cause it’s the most popular song off the performance and probably my favorite
Kurt was right. He could not top that finish.
Idk, I’m new to this channel, but have you done a video like this for AIC
Looking at doing one def at some stage.
He did screw up man who sold the world! The like 4 mistakes
13 mins 18 seconds and we do not hear once second of Nirvana playing???
