56:30 nice catch. they must have drafted their deck before the bonus sheet changed, and are only now finishing the draft event.

So, to put it in layman's terms, the reason Far/Away acts the way it does is because it's a Fuse card and not a Split card.
So when you cast both sides, you're casting 1 spell that says both actions and resolve essentially at the same time. The bounce will happen before the sacrifice because its sentence is first, but you go from that directly into the sacrifice. Because of this, there's never a moment where the bestow effect that turns the aura into a creature resolves until the spell is finished because it's in the middle of resolving still as the bounce happens. It's 1 spell, so the whole thing resolves before the aura turns into a creature.
If it were a Split card instead - which are a thing in mtg that look quite similar to fuse cards - where one card is two spells, then it would be treated as two spells on the stack and work the way you thought it did. The creature would bounce, the aura would turn into a creature, the player would sac.
Sidenote: Far/Away isn't new, it's a reprint from 2013, Dagon's Maze. A lot of people are likely about to learn they played that card very wrong for years.

41:36 could your mouse be dying? Old mouse often start double clicking and it can cause problems like that

You know you're playing control when the opponents keep exploding from frustration, not low life total.

Splashing black just seemed unnecessary with how open blue was, but guess it worked out

I hate getting the time out victory....
I love a competitive game. Time out victory is worse than mana screw

its possible they might have just given up, and raged quit the client. gomlet hadn't won yet but he was vary favored, up on mana, cards, life and more or less equal on board (he needs to kill his own 2/2 at some point)
also could have just been a disconnection tech issue. but yeah, no need to feel like you losed out on a competitive game here, it was mostly already won
