Exactly, its our duty to learn the tools that help us evolve our craft.
Maybe the availability of Ai will make the hands on "old school" methods that much more sought after or at least appreciated but who knows, there is no right or wrong with this. Everyone got they own path.
As you said, drummers still getting work even though everybody using drum machines/DAWs nowadays.
For me im gonna continue to enjoy and work with music that comes from my brain. If i ever feel limited by this then perhaps ill look into help from an algorithm that everyone else will be using too.. maybe not though. Idk

I feel like Ai is a great tool for business but for art and music it's gonna dampen the level of creativity. its gonna get to the point where everything is one click and no one will never know how to create.
Ai should be used to help us with our work so we have more time to express ourselves.. not the other way around.
Just my 2cents though... I am sure art/music IS just work to so so many people so maybe this is the way for most and I'm just getting older. Idk.

Adapt or die is definitely the right mindset. Being one of the really old heads around here I've seen a lot of change over the decades and people yelling about jobs dying off. But they don't see new tech brings new types of jobs and it's a matter of adapt or die. The issue is people get comfortable with how they do things and they don't want to change or put in the time to learn to do something new. The world never stops evolving so we have to evolve with it.
Now my think about AI at this point is seeing the posts of young people using it and how many are getting upset that they still have to know something about music to use the AI. That is really sad being frustrated because you still have to learn some music basics.
My biggest concern with AI is things starting to sound a like. Musician and some fans complain when music starts sounds like they created it using the current formula in songwriting and producing I see at least in the beginning AI doing the same thing people using the same AI tools and creating formula sounding music.

Ableton a good daw, but they are slow with the tech, even FL Studio has stem separation , chord tools, among other thngs, plus they have some bundles with UVI, Studio one,has stepped their game way up for real, thanks for that John Mike, lol, not older than me Bro, I am 60 ths year, been making music since 1975, lol, I mean we started in churches, not with a drumset, but a bass drum, a snare, a guitar , and thats it for a long time, lol
It would be hard for other companies to compete with Apple. Apple has more resources and can hire best engineers and scientists.
