Yeah man neither did we! Again there is a proper longer way of doing this ... but we found this quick and dirty method and thought its best we share it
I didn't need to deal with any of this last night when I exported from Rokoko to the UE4 preset. i just used the retarget animation setting in the right click menu of the mocap data in the content browser, then selected sk rig as the source and metahuman skeleton as the destination and boom, converted flawlessly. Maybe this is all stuff that's been fixed since this tutorial was recorded? I'm using UE 5.3.2
Wow might give this a try, was just looking into Move Ai to do motion capture at home but you need multiple cameras, which i dont have. This might be a neat quick and dirty solution.
You can but it wouldnt be recommended. Metahumans are realistic because Epic games spent so long creating 100s of bones for them faces and bodies. If you go to mixamo you will lose all that realness. Also not to mention I believe Epiic games only allows rendering of metas within unreal itself. Although its defo possiible to do it in blender but i believe its against their rights ... We've seen them rendered in blender before tho :P :P
