United fan here I actually stayed and watched the whole thing (it hurt but God I respect what Klopp has done) Because you're so damn good at making these videos, hats off to you sir.
As a United fan, I remember my reaction to hearing that Liverpool signed Klopp. It went along the lines of 'oh dear God'. I was a huge fan of Klopp during his Dortmund days, and I knew what to expect. Watching Liverpool is a very guilty pleasure of mine.
As a United fan I remember fans bandying Klopp as a potential successor for Sir Alex when he left. Behind Guadiola and Mourinho of course. Liverpool did well to get him and work with his strengths. I think Woodward would have wasted Klopp if he had been signed instead of Moyes. What I respect about Klopp is something he and all great managers have. He has great working relationships with all the staff and this is how he gets the best out of the players who have been carefully selected. Regardless of criteria used to select potential recruits there is a blend of characters that form a winning squad. Anyone that disrupts this is moved on or not signed. Same with any long term successful club. It is always impressive as the consistency in form is a repetative behaviour, almost a group hypnosis and peer pressure conformity. Klopp's management is a key part of the Liverpool success.
as a RM fan…watching that Dortmund team walk over us in 2012 (or 13?) was brutal, and it made me a fan of of Klopp lol…and then again, hating the oil state’s dominance in England, it was natural i would gravitate to Kopp’s liverpool considering my EPL team was complete garbage (until this season) Watching Klopp turn young unpolished gems and forgotten players into world class stars has been a joy…Mane was a Nobody, and Salah was a Chelsea reject barely scoring 10 goals a season for Roma! And under Klopp theg became two of the best players in prem history…. And then…to compete against the unfair advantage that Bayern and now City has had is something truly special…something I don’t think any other Manager could have pulled off
As a child, Fernando Torres was one of my favorite player so by default I became a LFC fan. Reus was my favorite player though, so I was more of a Bvb fan, and still am today. When Klopp went to Liverpool I knew he was going to succeed. Being a fan of both clubs has been strange, as I love to see Liverpool win but Dortmund has never been the same since his departure.
As a City fan I'm extremely grateful for the period of success we've experienced lately, but I must say it just wouldn't have been the same without this Liverpool side being there to keep us on our toes. What an incredible team and seeing these two go head to head at the highest level for the past few seasons has been a joy.
Take Liverpool out of the equation and City would have won the last 4 or 5 league titles by double digits. Liverpool literally are the only thing preventing City from turning the prem into a farmers league.
@@hiphopotamus69 not entirely true. It might have become a farmers league but they wouldn’t have hit triple digits because there wouldn’t have been the need to always get 3 points every week
As a liverpool supporter as great as it is to compete against city it's painful to always come up short in title races. To have 4/5 season at home unbeaten and get 97 and 92 points over that period with just one title to show for it is insane. U guys are just a monster.
tbh, it sometimes breaks my heart to see how close we were to winning 3 UCLs and 3 PLs in the past 5 years. In terms of trophies, we have really underachieved. This group of players and Klopp deserve to win so much more.
In the end it's football and games can be decided by sheer luck or the smallest of things. With this consistency I believe you'll get to celebrate a bit more in the years to come.
With Klopp leaving, he leaves with only Premier League and one UEFA Champions League. I feel he's been hard done. 97 points but no league? 92 points but no league? A UCL final where our keeper ruined it for us and another where Madrid's keeper saved it for them. We've been so close to greatness.
Growing up as a Liverpool fan in ther era of united dominance and Liverpool being the joke, it does bring a smile to my face how things are now. Klopp is a legend
Honestly as a Liverpool fan I couldn't watch the slip or even listen to anyone talk about it untill we'd won the league, just broke my heart that it happened to Stevie of all people. However now the United era is over and we back Im now just seeing it as a chapter in the Odyssey of Stevie G that ends with him winning the league with Liverpool in his last ever season managing at the age of 88 or something
As a Liverpool supporter, losing the title by 1 point twice, and losing 2 CL finals has been hard to swallow. But then you remember 10 years ago, and realize how incredible the last 5 years have been. And I think we are lucky that our owners are very involved into the club and want success, not just money ! In the Premier League, I think we have the best owners to be fair. They're rarely mentioned because we don'tt see them much, and people dislike owners in general, but ours have done very good choice recently. But as you said, of course Klopp is the n°1 reason of the success ! I think he's the best manager in the world. Who can take a top8 team (especially in the PL) and make it one of the 2 best in 3 years? Who can maintain such a level during several years like he's done in 2 clubs now. He's the best man-manager, this is for sure. The players love him, and therefore love playing at Liverpool. But he's also a great tactician, with his own unique style. I wish for him to stay as long as he wants and has the motivation. Then maybe we'll have Gerrard? He seems to be a good manager already. And he's a respected figure for the players. Anyway, I see success for more years to come. Klopp has replaced departing players well. You mentioned the core of the 2017-2021 team. But players like Thiago, Jota, Konate, Diaz are doing very well, as will Nuñez I'm sure, and young players have emerged like Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott. I'm confident Klopp can successfully manage the transition from one core team to the next, making changes slowly, one or two important players each year, to replace the older and departing ones. YNWA
@@Jose-wd6kn Swansea City, we have had great success in recent years spending 7 years in the prem and winning a carabao cup but we will never reach that peak again most likely and I'm not sad about it as the championship isn't too bad

City and Liverpool have lifted the quality of whole game. Hope this goes on for as long as it can. Good rivilaries is what has made sport always great.
In European competition we obviously would tip the hat to Klopp for making 3 finals in 5 years and winning it. But in the Premier League and domestic cups Pep is still the top dog. Let's also not forget that yes Klopp may have spent less than Pep but he still has transfers in totally over 700 Million pounds.
@Dee Cee how is that ridiculous? Klopp has less money to spend and city finish’s 1 point above Liverpool. Klopp’s won the champions league with Liverpool as well, how has he not done a better job?

But it havent become the reality yet. Iam not too hopeful for a similar run. But Iam sure Iam sure Klopp going to bring home some.
4:38 I would say the Red Sox have been a well-run organization. They have consistently been competitive since the turn of the millennium. They’re not always the top dog, but they’re very much in the mix every year, including a surprisingly deep playoff run last season
Last season could be a historic one, but even with a disapointing ending, it was such a good time for us fans, Klopp and the boys , even when doesn't win brings joy to us
agreed but it's difficult to imagine how we are gonna bounce back next season , especially in the manner in which lost both the league to Man City AND the Champions League to our nemesis Real Madrid. while Carvalho and Nunez are excellent additions but the departure of Sadio Mane is a big blow. yes, we may have won both domestic cups but let's be real, that was not even our primary aim. Most heavyweights focus on domestic league or the Champions League.
American fan here. The Red Sox have been up and down since 2018. They hired this supposed genius from a rival team to help revamp their team and his main attribute was cutting cost but also getting value for the money spent. In 2020 they traded one of the best players on their team and in all of MLB, Mookie Betts, to the LA Dodgers because they didn’t want to pay him ( he signed a 12 year 365 million contract with LA). Now in 2022 the team is in a weird place. Many of their homegrown talent are seeking new contracts and negotiations have been sort of rough. After some good moments in the playoffs last year this team is now struggling to find form. FSG don’t seem to be following that same path with Liverpool seeing as they resigned Salah.
@@FootballIconic no problem! If I could add just one more thing, FSG seem to trust who they have put in charge to make the decisions. For better or for worse, so as a neutral, Liverpool seem to be in good hands. Great video. Love the content 🤝❤️
I think it comes down to business decisions. Henry is a business man after all. FSG probably view a couple hundred million dollar investment in football will yield a greater return than the same investment in baseball. Baseball is a risk averse sport without relegation, champions league, etc like in football. You can pay someone a couple million a year and still get similar revenues as paying someone like Mookie, Devers, or Bogaerts 30m + a year. This is clearly why Henry was pro Super League. Makes football more risk averse which means easier $$$ for the billionaire owners. So sad. Cheers from a Red Sox and LFC from Boston

As an American I guess I should be the one to say that the Boston Red Sox are still doing well. They haven’t reached anywhere near the heights of 2018 and they traded away their best player Mookie Betts, but they’re still playoff contenders with one of the best batting orders in the league
I am good friends with klopp. We meet up almost every week for a coffee and a catch up. Infact it was me who told him to buy nunez and salah. Klopp says to me the other day, "I'm really happy you told me to get these 2". I told him, "Look J. K. you don't need to thank me, you just get the best out of them". And he nodded in agreement. The thing is I knew these players before. So I knew their strengths. Salah is going to be brilliant this year as he is now settled. he told me this only yesterday. Nunez will take a few weeks to fully settle in. But I can give you my personal assurance, that once they are settled, this team will not lose a single game.
As of 27/07/2022, the Red Sox are currently last in their division and are on a bit of a losing streak, where they've recently lost 28 to 5 which is a rare and high margin in baseball, and for the past few nights have made comedic defensive errors that make them look like an amateur team This is surprising considering that in 2021, they were a step away from reaching the World Series, the main championship game for the title in MLB. But to be honest, the Red Sox are one of those strange organizations that literally go from the very bottom to the very top and back to the bottom. Just an up and down team to say the least, but even with such performances, I think it's separate from the football world considering Liverpool doesn't go from winning the league to finishing near relegation. They're at least consistent unlike the Red Sox, which in the end comes down to the different structures in Major League Baseball and the world of Club Football.
After another video I was watching, your video came up on my screen. Excellent job, the information is sharp, precise, simple. Awesome video. Thank you so much 🙌❤
Klopp may be one of the most inspired managers. It really is a pity they didn't complete the quadruple last year; history will show them with a double and, other than true fans, few will realise how close they came. Nothing but respect for the man and the culture he's continued to develop.
@@shutup2751 in all honesty if they had more rest from a less intense schedule, i think they couldve won either the PL or CL... i do agree that Real was in peak form though, absolutely absurd team
The quadruple isn't on liverpool's favor.....from the league side, we dropped a lot of crucial point to make city have a easy path to win it, since we know city isn't a team that will lose points to small teams unlike liverpool.....and the on ucl side, liverpool played really hard until the final day of the league and still end up losing 1 point to man city, while Madrid are secured the league title weeks before....so they're resting their players more often before the final, and if i remember Benzema & co just playing chess before the final. Madrid's player are mentally prepared to face Liverpool while liverpool players are exhausted both mentally and physically. The fans that yelling Quad are the fans didn't know anything. After this, i strongly believe liverpool will never won against Real madrid....the traumas are too deep on liverpool and will give any players a pressure to face madrid for at least 15 years in the future
I come back to this one from time to time because it's a banger. Tinashe I am very interested to hear your opinion on Liverpools 22/23 season, hoping you a do "What happened to Liverpool?" vid soon 😘
This is my fav video of yours, Liverpool has always been on my soft side despite they repeatedly spanking us(arsenal) every year. They organically won everything that's there in English football
I love Klopp and I really liked this video, but I would like to emphasize that the 14/15 season, BVB didn't finished 7th because they were 'unlucky', in December 2014 Borussia Dortmund were in the Relegation zone after a REALLY bad first half of the season, thanks to Lewandowski leaving, the main goal threat was now gone and Aubameyang was back then used more as a Right Winger, Ciro Immobile was bought and supposed Lewa replacement but only scored 3 goals all season (2 against 3. Liga side Dynamo Dresden), Borussia Dortmund Board in January publicly announced they wouldn't fire Klopp under any circumstances and I don't know how the second season they were able to get 7th plus a DFB Pokal final against Wolfsburg (which we lost 3-1 if I'm not mistaken), it was a hard season to watch specially being a BVB fan, but it wasn't 'unlucky' by any means. FUN FACT: after finishing 7th and Runner Up, BVB was granted a spot in the Europa League, to which they lost to Klopp's Liverpool in a unforgettable 4-3 match at Anfield where Dejan Lovren scored a header at the 95' to ensure Liverpool would go to the final.

American here, the Red Sox have won four World Series titles since 2004, which I believe is the most in that span. The FSG recently bought my hometown hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are one of the most successful franchises in the last 15 years.
A few baseball bits here: Fenway Sports Group were founded in 2001 that took ownership of the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox are one of the most famous teams in baseball history, being the original home of Babe Ruth and also having stars like Ted Williams. However, they had not won a World Series since 1918 and had only won won the American League championship 4 times in that time: 1946, '67, ''75, and '86 (the last of which they lost when the series-winning ball went through the legs of Bill Buckner... basically their version of The Slip, but bigger). Since then, they have won the American League 4 times: 2004, '07, '13, and '18, and have won the World Series each of those 4 years. So they've made a HUGE improvement under FSG. Also, Sabermetrics was originally called SABRmetrics, because it was from the Society for American Baseball Research and was coined by Bill James, who is a statistician who endeavored to try and use statistics to determine what tended to cause teams to win or lose more often than they should. In 2003, he was hired to work with the Red Sox, and helped them toward those 4 World Series Championships. He innovated a number of advanced stats which are often used today and was even named as one of TIme's 100 Most Influential People In The World in 2006.
As a Boston Red Sox fan, we aren’t near the level of the ‘18 team, which in my opinion seeing that im only 16, is the best team I’ve ever personally witnessed. So understandable to say the least that we’ve fallen off a bit, we were below average in 2019, horrid in 2020, which saw our new “sporting director” brought in. One of his first moves was trading fan favorite Mookie Betts, because we wanted to lower our payroll, and we got a decent return, but last year we made it to the semi final of the playoffs, in my opinion choking it to the Astros. This season has been a rollercoaster, we’ve lost 11 of our last 14 games and find ourselves sitting at 50-50 the problem in my opinion has been injuries because before we have been hit with injuries we had a stretch where we were 25-5. But yeah it should be interesting where we go from here

To answer your question on Boston Red Sox, they had a bit of a bad spell but are now a team on the rise. Being in the same division as the Rays, Yankees, and Blue Jays makes competition fierce for them, but they've made some good trades and acquisitions to help strengthen their squad. Only time will tell if they can get back to the World Series anytime soon, though.
One notable thing for me about 19/20 was when Liverpool lost to City in the Community Shield. The players watched City lift the thropy at Wembley, and i'm convinced the feeling of see this helped them that season on their way to win.
As a Chelsea fan I hate Liverpool's guts. But what can I say? They back their guts with their performances week in week out. And their comeback against Barcelona was, still is and will forever be one of my "guilty pleasures". As a football fan, and sports in general, I'm eagerly waiting the day Liverpool get their revenge on Real Madrid in UCL too.

Спасибо, таких хороших фанатов как ты в Юнайтед очень мало
as a RM fan…watching that Dortmund team walk over us in 2012 (or 13?) was brutal, and it made me a fan of of Klopp lol…and then again, hating the oil state’s dominance in England, it was natural i would gravitate to Kopp’s liverpool considering my EPL team was complete garbage (until this season)
Watching Klopp turn young unpolished gems and forgotten players into world class stars has been a joy…Mane was a Nobody, and Salah was a Chelsea reject barely scoring 10 goals a season for Roma!
@@imjustniek9461 he is right tho. If Liverpool weren’t in the league then the prem would be a farmers league with City winning it each year
As a liverpool supporter as great as it is to compete against city it's painful to always come up short in title races. To have 4/5 season at home unbeaten and get 97 and 92 points over that period with just one title to show for it is insane. U guys are just a monster.
@@pauleragbai yeah I literally said that
tbh, it sometimes breaks my heart to see how close we were to winning 3 UCLs and 3 PLs in the past 5 years. In terms of trophies, we have really underachieved. This group of players and Klopp deserve to win so much more.
yeah but city>>>>>>>>>> so cry
@@exterminateexterminate9751 Yeah but city doesnt have a ucl, so cry😙
The last UCL final against Madrid was the definition of being unlucky. One team played football, but the other team somehow won
I’ve been eager to see your take on Liverpools recent history, thanks for the content, keep up the unreal work.
Long live Stevie G..........the legend is back.
I'm confident Klopp can successfully manage the transition from one core team to the next, making changes slowly, one or two important players each year, to replace the older and departing ones.

i wouldnt praise FSG that much personally, they dont give liverpool enough money, im glad we're changing owners to qatari and saudi companies
This aged well. Fsg are shit owners that caused the downfall or klopp is too arrogant
As a Red Sox fan (and Spurs fan lol) I can say that the team (the Sox that is) are still pretty relevant, making it to the semi finals of the playoff tournament last year, but have seen some significant decline in the 2022 with a lot of players either hurt or underperforming despite the team's desire to compete at the top level. They remain in the running for a playoff spot, but are generally on the outside looking in. Separately, FSG have also purchased the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL team in recent years, which are one of the best and winningest hockey teams of the last decade
Red Sox aren't very good this year unfortunately. 28-5 is absolutely terrible
@@jackdaniel2457 lmao yeah that was pretty painful. At least we're over .500 but yeah it's gonna be a long second half of the season if they keep this up
Yeah this year the team is very meh and borderline bad, but tbh the team is very relevant and perennially competitive
@@aidanshek3056 yeah about the over .500 thing...

Very beautiful video. Only goes to show how tough City has made the Premier League to become. I mean, imagine having to target 100 league points to win the EPL. Kudos to Liverpool and City.
City and Liverpool have lifted the quality of whole game. Hope this goes on for as long as it can. Good rivilaries is what has made sport always great.
I’m a united fan but Klopp has done a phenomenal job, he’s done a better job than pep at city and on a lower budget. Great video again dude 👍
@Dee Cee you can definitely make the argument Klopp has done a better job, mostly due to Liverpool being in a worse place when he took over
@Dee Cee how is that ridiculous? Klopp has less money to spend and city finish’s 1 point above Liverpool. Klopp’s won the champions league with Liverpool as well, how has he not done a better job?
@@MannyRataul how much has pep spent? City finish’s a point above Liverpool as well. Klopp is the better manager.

As a Liverpool fan last season. Last season I want Liverpool to do it all. Bragging rights is one thing but all the near misses in this Klopp era with so many finals(3 or 5 if you count the shield) lost, it would have cement it. His legacy the quadruple. But it havent become the reality yet. Iam not too hopeful for a similar run. But Iam sure Iam sure Klopp going to bring home some.
sure bro
4:38 I would say the Red Sox have been a well-run organization. They have consistently been competitive since the turn of the millennium. They’re not always the top dog, but they’re very much in the mix every year, including a surprisingly deep playoff run last season
They're bottom of the League 😭
Last season could be a historic one, but even with a disapointing ending, it was such a good time for us fans, Klopp and the boys , even when doesn't win brings joy to us
agreed but it's difficult to imagine how we are gonna bounce back next season , especially in the manner in which lost both the league to Man City AND the Champions League to our nemesis Real Madrid.

yes, we may have won both domestic cups but let's be real, that was not even our primary aim.

I see. Thanks for the insight!
@@FootballIconic no problem! If I could add just one more thing, FSG seem to trust who they have put in charge to make the decisions. For better or for worse, so as a neutral, Liverpool seem to be in good hands. Great video. Love the content 🤝❤️
Well said
I think it comes down to business decisions.
@@yuhstation938 up and down is a bit harsh because they have made playoff pushes each year(scratch out 2020) and have stayed somewhat relevant they just havnt been able to catch the Yankees and rays
I don’t even want to think about the day Klopp leaves, not just because he’s a great manager but because he’s a great guy too, his love and gratitude toward the fans and community and the respect and belief he has for his players to go all the way are pretty much unrivalled in the PL, the man even made his team stay and watch Real Madrid lift the CL trophy so that the team could use it as a motivator to be the ones to lift it next year
Man we are blessed to have klopp. So have faith. Best is yet to come

Whats so special about Klopp is, that he can make an average player become one of the best players.
Klopp & Guardiola are the two best managers during this era.
Big Red Sox fan commenting from Massachusetts! 2018 was one of the best baseball teams ever, with the Red Sox doing historically well. We have fallen off a bit since then, but still made it into the final 4 teams (ALCS) last year and may make the playoffs this year. Typically competitive. Go Sox! And Go United!
Watching liverpool develop over the past decade has been magnificent to watch. Their signings from staff to players have been incredibly intelligent. There's nothing more satisfying than watching them snag a promising talent and see them slot right into an already performing first team

As of 27/07/2022, the Red Sox are currently last in their division and are on a bit of a losing streak, where they've recently lost 28 to 5 which is a rare and high margin in baseball, and for the past few nights have made comedic defensive errors that make them look like an amateur team
This is surprising considering that in 2021, they were a step away from reaching the World Series, the main championship game for the title in MLB. But to be honest, the Red Sox are one of those strange organizations that literally go from the very bottom to the very top and back to the bottom. Just an up and down team to say the least, but even with such performances, I think it's separate from the football world considering Liverpool doesn't go from winning the league to finishing near relegation. They're at least consistent unlike the Red Sox, which in the end comes down to the different structures in Major League Baseball and the world of Club Football.
could it be that theyre 'tanking' for draft picks?, dont all american sport leagues run a draft system?

Klopp may be one of the most inspired managers. It really is a pity they didn't complete the quadruple last year; history will show them with a double and, other than true fans, few will realise how close they came. Nothing but respect for the man and the culture he's continued to develop.
i dont think they were ever going to win it, man city and real madrid are just a class above the rest, even liverpool

A few baseball bits here:
Fenway Sports Group were founded in 2001 that took ownership of the Boston Red Sox.
But yeah it should be interesting where we go from here
Well done - brilliant

To answer your question on Boston Red Sox, they had a bit of a bad spell but are now a team on the rise. Being in the same division as the Rays, Yankees, and Blue Jays makes competition fierce for them, but they've made some good trades and acquisitions to help strengthen their squad.
