Yes! there are 4 units: NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U, and WayV. I definitely recommend reacting to seperate guides for each unit cause it can be a bit overwhelming at first and like there's just not enough info for each member in a full NCT guide introducing all 23.

In my opinion, NCT2020 is a best year for NCT with 23 members.
In order to react to 23 members, you should start with NCT U unit which all members can participate so you’ll see some new faces.

-Resonance (all 23 members)

Also you might be confused but nct as a whole rn are 23 members, but nct 127(this group) only have 9 members. That’s cause nct is separated by subunits. To explain nct’s concept in the most simple way i can, pls refer to what i wrote below:
Okay so NCT currently has 23 members. They are from SM entertainment(top kpop company that basically started the whole kpop. They are a junior of EXO and Red velvet: kings and Queens of 3rd gen).
NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology
They have a concept of infinite members and SM plans to spread them all over the world. Although they have a lot of members, they do not perform a song altogether except for three exceptions which is NCT 2018(where all 18(they were just 18 back in 2018) members were present in an mv “black on black”. And the other was NCT’s biggest project yet which was NCT 2020 “resonance”. They made a mash up of their NCT U songs to perform in one mv together and all 23 members were present. The recent one was NCT 2021 and they released the mv “beautiful” with all 23 members again.
They promote in different subunits which i will explain(people usually start stanning NCT by starting with one subunit. There are currently 3 fixed subunits with fixed members. And one rotational subunit.)
1). The first subunit is NCT 127. 127 is the longitude coordinate of Seoul, South Korea.
•They have 10 members(1 member have been inactive with 127 since 2018 and has been mainly promoting with another NCT subunit) so some people will say that NCT 127 has 9 members.
•This subunit is the most promoted unit
•Their songs are very experimental and a lot are hip hop based.
2). The second subunit is NCT dream which stands for follow your dreams.
•They have 7 members(2 of which are also a member of NCT 127)
•They are usually called the babies of NCT because they were the youngest members when NCT first debuted. Their age range back in 2016 was 14-17(1999-2002). However as NCT gains more members the age line up im NCT as a whole changes too. So it can still change, but currently they’re still one of the youngest.
•the concept of their music is kind of like growing with the dream members. They started out with a very young and fresh concept which gradually matures as they make more comebacks. Currently all of them are now legal in age.
•Originally had a graduation concept where members graduate from the group once they turn 20. But it has recently been removed.
3).The third subunit is WayV(Vision) which stands for we are your vision.
•WayV has 7 members. The other inactive 127 member mainly promotes in this subunit.
•WayV is the chinese subunit of NCT.
•They are the only subunit that doesn’t use the NCT in their name(because of Chine-Korea political issue) however they are still a part of NCT.
4). The fourth subunit is a rotational subunit. It’s called NCT U. U stands for United.
•All members of NCT are members of NCT U.
•The lineup and the number of members in every NCT U song are different.
•They pick any NCT members from any subunits based on who suits the song and concept.
People often avoid NCT because they get intimidated by the number of members and some just scan the explanation and concludes that the concept is too complicated but it’s not complicated at all. And I understood their concept in one seating after reading 1 explanation.
In case you still have a bit of a difficulty in understanding you can use this analogy.
Think of NCT as Vogue magazine. Everyone is part of the same magazine/brand but are introduced as different collections.
•NCT 127-Main collection, Vogue Korea
•NCT Dream-youth collection, Vogue teen
•WayV-Chinese collection, Vogue China
•NCT U- limited/ special edition collection.
Another analogy: NCT as a school
•NCT 127 is a senior class
•NCT dream is a junior class
•WayV is a class for chinese
•NCT U is an extracurricular that anyone can enter based on their abilities and capabilities

-NCT 127 is a fixed subunit, 9 members. The 2 youngest members are also in Dream.

-WayV is a fixed subunit, 7 members. This is the Chinese unit.
There’s a total of 23 active members, but they get together only once, almost every year, for a special album. Otherwise, each subunit has separate comebacks, albums and promotions throughout the year.

I understand if you are confused because of the member numbers 😅
The nct concept is a bit hard to grasp, but basically they are divided into subunits and they can add members and debut new subunits at anytime.
If you really want to learn their names I would suggest learning by their fixed units (meaning the members stay mostly the same)- nct 127, nct dream, wayv + Sungchan and shotaro that don't have a fixed unit (yet)
(Nct u is a rotational unit and they change members everytime)
Nct most of the time is divided into their respective subunit, so there aren't 23 members in every mv.
BUT they do this almost yearly thing where everybody gets together and they release an album and some videos together.
If you want to see the full group in an mv you can watch:
Nct 2018 - Black on Black (performance ver. or dance practice; they had 18 members at the time)
Nct 2020 - Resonance (all 23, but one member, Jisung, isn't dancing because he had an injury at the time)
Resonance is a mash-up of 4 songs of the album they released at the same time - so a lot of beat switch ups (3 out of 4 songs have their own mv - "make a wish", "90s love" and "work it" - i would suggest checking them out first before you watch resonance, but it's up to you)
Nct 2021 - beautiful (21 out of 23 members are in the mv... and a lot of background dancers 😂)
It's a pop-ballad and more vocal focused - not sure if that's something you enjoy and it's quite different from their normal sound for title tracks, but it definitely showcases their vocals and everybody gets a line

btw the dance break is just for the video and when they preform it on stage, the official audio does not have it which I'm happy about because they usually have a GREAT dance breaks in their songs and it still matches the song but this time it is completely different from the song's vibe

NCT 127 (9 members) is known for the experimental music. They really brave to be out of the box. And they can murder the most weird song like "Sticker".
NCT Dream (7 members) is known for youthful and teenagers vibes. Their musics are easy to listen yet so unique too. Even their colour different from NCT 127, their music is so NCT too. You can figure their sound in "Hello Future".
WayV (7 members) is NCT's Chinese sub-unit. They have their own colour yet so NCT. Their music different from other unit, but still amazing. They have mature and sexy concept. Vocal heavy song. I reccomend you to hear "Bad Alive".
NCT U is rotational unit, it means the members mixed up from each unit that suit the concept in the song. You have to check out "90's Love".
NCT is unique group. Their song is unique. Their B-sides are amazing. Their title track are cheff kiss.
FYI, NCT is a group from SM Entertainment. 2016 debut. SM Entertainment has always been the pioneer of mix music. Be the spearhead of mix music in KPOP from SM Ent. Starting from SNSD (Girls Generation) with the title song I Got A Boy 2013, not only SNSD but Shinee, FX, Red Velvet, EXO, NCT and lastly Aespa. (Correct me if there are still groups left)
But since 2013 SM Entertainment doesn't call the genre Mix Pop but they call it SMP : SM Music Performance.
This is the reason I love SM Ent and all the artists in it. Because they are all talented, different and pioneers for unique and new things in Kpop world.
The dance break part isn't actually in the actual audio of the song it's just in the MV. NCT 127 is a subunit of NCT U (other active units are NCT Dream and WayV); NCT 127 has a distinct sound of its own because of the members, but as you can see/hear from this MV, as with all SM Entertainment artists, these guys can "sang" and rap and dance.
