Unlike most groups Nct actually exists 95% of the time divided into their subgroups and only occasionally comes together. I call them the reverse Kpop group because of that. Boss, Regular and 90s Love would be good songs to check out next!
nct has very experimental music, i think you would like nct u - the 7th sense, baby don't stop and 90s love. nct 127 - superhuman & highway to heaven. nct dream - boom, ridin. also check out wayv, they're the chinese subunit and make some of the best music in nct. bad alive, take off, action figure, turn back time and love talk are some of the ones that i personally love. also you'll see some familiar faces here and there between MV's but none of the nct u combinations are exactly the same. nct has a total of 23 members and any of those can be part of a song depending on who fits the concept. nct u songs can have 7 members, 5 members or even 2 members. as i said, depends on the overall concept of the song!

Nice! One of my favorite groups! What draws me to NCT is their diverse catalog of music. They’re not afraid to try different sounds, sometimes all in the same song (i.e. Punch). NCT U tends to be a little more experimental because the members are changed according to the song, but Taeyong (first rapper in Make a Wish) and Mark (first rapper in Hot Sauce) are constant in 2 of the four subunits, NCT 127 & U. They are also in Super M, along with Lucas and Ten from the Chinese NCT subunit WayV. Favorites include Yestoday, Cherry Bomb, The 7th Sense (debut), Simon Says. Yepp here's a lil more info about the subunits. nct 127 (kick it): Has 10 members (only 9 active now) and promote mainly in korea nct dream (hot sauce): are kind of the 'kids' of nct. Used to be only for teenagers so once they turn 20, they graduate and join the other subunits, but due to the success of this unit, it is now a permanent unit with no graduation system wayv (not included in this video): is the chinese subunit nct u (make a wish): This is not a fixed subunit. Basically whenever they have a song, they choose the members that will fit the concept of that specific song from all 23 members in nct. These songs can have as little as 2 members or even up to 23 members in one song. For example if songs are rap focused (rappers are chosen), vocal focused (vocalists chosen), choreo driven (dancers chosen)

Because of this their signature sound has been dubbed "noise music", by fans and critics a like. Each unit has it's own unique sound, but they all tie into something that sounds very specifically NCT, very "neo". I really recommend exploring all the units and NCT's entire discography, they are very impressive and worth diving into! They've all been active this very year so here are some songs I highly recommend: NCT 127 - "Gimme Gimme", "Punch", and "White Night" (a b-side) NCT Dream - "Riding", "We Go Up", and "Rainbow" (a b-sdie) WayV - "Back To You"(2 members Kun&Xiaojun), “Kick Back", and "Action Figure" NCT U - "The 7th Sense" (this was the debut of NCT as a whole), "90s Love", and "Faded In My Last Song" (a b-side) I don't recommend it right away, but if you were interested you could also check out the two songs NCT have with their entire group together. You would also love NCT's 2016 debut song "The 7th Sense" from the subunit NCT U, which sets up NCT's entire concept of connecting to others through shared dreams and through the subconscious. A lot of people will say that "The 7th Sense" was ahead of its time, which is absolutely is, but many idols say that it is a very difficult song to recreate because the choreo seems simple, but is hard to pull off, which is why you don't see a lot of idols doing song covers for it. Take a listen some time...it's incredible.

Resonance is the only song so far that has ALL 23 members in it (they call the “unit” NCT2020), and it’s a mashup of four songs from their Resonance Album that released last year, so that’s also a good way to hear a few songs and get more familiar w their sound

Every member of nct can be in a nct u unit. They put different combinations deciding on the stale of the song and who fits it the best.
Better get used to the sudden shifts in the music if you continue to react to SM groups... it's the labels signature style. 😄 Aespa's 'Next Level' takes it to an extreme if you haven't seen/heard it yet. Also, as I'm sure you've heard by now, you missed one of the NCT units which is WayV... they're the Chinese unit and unfortunately due to political tensions between SK and China they have to operate somewhat separately from the main... which is why they don't have the NCT moniker and are under 'Label V'. They are still very much a part of NCT though... hope you make your way to them eventually.
NCT music is something you really need to listen to more than once in order to adjust to it, since it's more experimental. They do blend R&B and hip hop a lot. WayV incorporates a bit of rock and more instrumentals in general. There's always a dance break because NCT are very performance heavy and well known for their dancing
Oh, I've seen Hot Sauce! So cute and poppy! Make A Wish was a first for me. Love the whistling lol it reminds me of BP! That was super funky. The fucking bridge was so HOT with the R&B (lol I noticed you weren't the biggest fan but that's ok it was very different from the rest of the song). Kick it was a first for me too and all I could think was I fucking LOVE that snare so much! Yeah, Kill Bill vibes big time. I enjoyed this one so much I think it was my favorite!
I also honestly think u should check out some of their dance practices, NCT definitely have some of the coolest and most interesting choreography, Sometimes its a little strange but its just SO COOL bro OMG
NCT definitely hits different, they have a weird mix of different genres in one song and they somehow make it work? Oh and yeah, you reacted to different subunits. Usually NCT U has a either a super hiphop vibe like in "Boss" (you should check that one out) or they go full vocals in songs with all the vocalists. 127 is the subunit with the slogan "from korea to the world" so they often promoted (before the pandemic) in the US with english versions of their songs like "Regular eng. ver" (check it out too!) NCT Dream has some of the youngest members of NCT and used to have more fresh, fun and sometimes "cutesy" songs. Now they're older so as you can see their songs and concepts matured with them. The last subunit at the moment doesn't have NCT in their name, they're called WayV, the members consist of the NCT members who talk mandarin and before the pandemic they promoted in China. Sometimes they have english versions like "Love Talk" (check it out!) And finally, all the units do come together sometimes to create albums mixing members from different units in each song. They've done this two times apparently each 2 years. The first time was "NCT 2018" with all 18 members at the time and the second time was "NCT 2020" with (don't freak out) 23 members. It's definitely an interesting concept but even if you can't fully understand how it works, their music quality is on a whole new level so it's worth it haha

It has 7 members WayV- This is the chinese group of NCT and has 7 members NCT U- U stands for united. It's a rotational unit where they bring any number of people randomly from all subunits. NCT is the name of the group as a whole and it actually has 4 subunits. NCT U which is the one for the Make A Wish and that group has all members in it but they rotate. Then there are 3 fixed subunits called NCT 127, NCT Dream(the younger members are in that one), and another one that doesn’t have NCT in the name which is WayV. nct is actually a giant group with 23 members (and growing) they're split into subunits n they all have their own vibe. but I gotta say every comeback has a different vibe no matter the unit. and yes nct (and esp nct 127 I think) have hiphop influence but they always mix it with different music styles. also there's another subunit called wayv that u probably missed cus they don't have nct in the name.
I saw some people put their version of explanations, but I figured it's still confusing so I put my 2 cents in to try to help: NCT (23 for now) is the main group. They only all come together for special events or dance performances. There is not yet an NCT song where they all sing/rap. Started out as 18 members and will add more as time goes on. NCT U (any members) is the name they gave to when random members sometimes group up to release a single. NCT DREAM (7 members) has most of the youngest members and marketed towards a younger audience until they grew up. NCT 127 (10 members) focuses on the Western market. 127 is longitude of Seoul, and their goal is to show the world kpop. WayV (7 members) focuses on the Chinese market. They are kinda separated from the others because of political tension between the two countries. Some of the members are in 2 of the fixed groups, which is why the numbers don't add up and you might see repeating faces. They all have similar sounds that make them NCT but you can still tell slight differences. DREAM has that cute sound that turned into teenage angst, 127 is just cool and kinda experimental, and WayV has that futuristic space sound. Then U is all over the place depending on the members.

Meanwhile, until now on June 2021 there are 4 units : 1. NCT 127 2. NCT Dream 3. Wayv 4. NCT U NCT U is United, which means combined. So Unit U is a combination of all existing units, while because now there are only 127 units, Dream and Wayv. Then "U" is a combination of the three. Unlimited number of members can be 2/3/4/5/6/7 and so on. The unit is formed according to the timbre of the sound and music genre that suits the character of the member. Therefore, each song that are produced has different members. It is possible that in the future there will be new units that flexible. As of June 2021, all NCT members totaled 23 people from various country. A. Consisting of 9 active members of NCT 127. B. There are 7 active members of NCT Dream (in the Dream unit there are 2 members who are also members of 127 namely Mark and Haechan). C. There are 7 active members of Wayv. D. I just want to let you know, that the thing with Taeil's iq was a rumor and he later clarified that it wasn't true. Nice! One of my favorite groups! What draws me to NCT is their diverse catalog of music. They’re not afraid to try different sounds, sometimes all in the same song (i.e. Punch). NCT U tends to be a little more experimental because the members are changed according to the song, but Taeyong (first rapper in Make a Wish) and Mark (first rapper in Hot Sauce) are constant in 2 of the four subunits, NCT 127 & U. They are also in Super M, along with Lucas and Ten from the Chinese NCT subunit WayV. Favorites include Yestoday, Cherry Bomb, The 7th Sense (debut), Simon Says. Too much awesomeness; do not get me started on b-sides. Enjoy the ride!

nct 127 (kick it): Has 10 members (only 9 active now) and promote mainly in korea
nct dream (hot sauce): are kind of the 'kids' of nct. Used to be only for teenagers so once they turn 20, they graduate and join the other subunits, but due to the success of this unit, it is now a permanent unit with no graduation system
wayv (not included in this video): is the chinese subunit
nct u (make a wish): This is not a fixed subunit. Basically whenever they have a song, they choose the members that will fit the concept of that specific song from all 23 members in nct. These songs can have as little as 2 members or even up to 23 members in one song. For example if songs are rap focused (rappers are chosen), vocal focused (vocalists chosen), choreo driven (dancers chosen)

Make a wish (MAW) is one of their song in their latest album (as a whole group) called RESONANCE. After you checked MAW, please do check these MV : 90's love and Work it. NCT 127 are know for having really sick choreography and really intense title tracks. The entire group are amazing vocalists and are heavy on r&b on their b-sides, their albums are always quality. Dance breaks are also pretty much guaranteed. Multiple members do overlap in the other units though so for example you'll see the rapper Mark and the vocalist Haechan in both 127 and Dream music videos (both of them fit the age range for Dream which is supposed to be the youngest members of NCT) and the member Winwin was active in 127 for 2 years before switching to actively promoting with the newest unit WayV who promote in China and Korea.
NCT are known for having very unique sounds ans often need multiple listens to get use to the sound and to like the songs. Because of this their signature sound has been dubbed "noise music", by fans and critics a like. Each unit has it's own unique sound, but they all tie into something that sounds very specifically NCT, very "neo".
I really recommend exploring all the units and NCT's entire discography, they are very impressive and worth diving into! They've all been active this very year so here are some songs I highly recommend:
NCT 127 - "Gimme Gimme", "Punch", and "White Night" (a b-side)
NCT Dream - "Riding", "We Go Up", and "Rainbow" (a b-sdie)
WayV - "Back To You"(2 members Kun&Xiaojun), “Kick Back", and "Action Figure"
NCT U - "The 7th Sense" (this was the debut of NCT as a whole), "90s Love", and "Faded In My Last Song" (a b-side)
I don't recommend it right away, but if you were interested you could also check out the two songs NCT have with their entire group together. First is "Black On Black" from 2018 when they only had 18 members and then "Resonance" from 2020 with the current 23.

You would also love NCT's 2016 debut song "The 7th Sense" from the subunit NCT U, which sets up NCT's entire concept of connecting to others through shared dreams and through the subconscious. A lot of people will say that "The 7th Sense" was ahead of its time, which is absolutely is, but many idols say that it is a very difficult song to recreate because the choreo seems simple, but is hard to pull off, which is why you don't see a lot of idols doing song covers for it. Take a listen some time...it's incredible.
if you want to react to all of the members as a whole, NCT 2018’s “Black On Black” included all of the 18 members at the time, and now more recently NCT 2020’s “Resonance” includes all 23 current members! 😁
Resonance is the only song so far that has ALL 23 members in it (they call the “unit” NCT2020), and it’s a mashup of four songs from their Resonance Album that released last year, so that’s also a good way to hear a few songs and get more familiar w their sound

Also, as I'm sure you've heard by now, you missed one of the NCT units which is WayV... they're the Chinese unit and unfortunately due to political tensions between SK and China they have to operate somewhat separately from the main... which is why they don't have the NCT moniker and are under 'Label V'. They are still very much a part of NCT though... hope you make your way to them eventually.

NCT music is something you really need to listen to more than once in order to adjust to it, since it's more experimental. They do blend R&B and hip hop a lot. WayV incorporates a bit of rock and more instrumentals in general. There's always a dance break because NCT are very performance heavy and well known for their dancing

Oh, I've seen Hot Sauce! So cute and poppy! Make A Wish was a first for me. Love the whistling lol it reminds me of BP! That was super funky. The fucking bridge was so HOT with the R&B (lol I noticed you weren't the biggest fan but that's ok it was very different from the rest of the song). NCT definitely hits different, they have a weird mix of different genres in one song and they somehow make it work? Oh and yeah, you reacted to different subunits.
Usually NCT U has a either a super hiphop vibe like in "Boss" (you should check that one out) or they go full vocals in songs with all the vocalists.
127 is the subunit with the slogan "from korea to the world" so they often promoted (before the pandemic) in the US with english versions of their songs like "Regular eng. ver" (check it out too!)
NCT Dream has some of the youngest members of NCT and used to have more fresh, fun and sometimes "cutesy" songs. Now they're older so as you can see their songs and concepts matured with them.
The last subunit at the moment doesn't have NCT in their name, they're called WayV, the members consist of the NCT members who talk mandarin and before the pandemic they promoted in China. Sometimes they have english versions like "Love Talk" (check it out!)
And finally, all the units do come together sometimes to create albums mixing members from different units in each song. They've done this two times apparently each 2 years. The first time was "NCT 2018" with all 18 members at the time and the second time was "NCT 2020" with (don't freak out) 23 members.
It's definitely an interesting concept but even if you can't fully understand how it works, their music quality is on a whole new level so it's worth it haha

I'll subscribe in hopes of more NCT reactions. I think you will grow to love them. They are a little "different" but you get used to their musical experiments and come to appreciate them. nct is actually a giant group with 23 members (and growing) they're split into subunits n they all have their own vibe. but I gotta say every comeback has a different vibe no matter the unit. and yes nct (and esp nct 127 I think) have hiphop influence but they always mix it with different music styles. also there's another subunit called wayv that u probably missed cus they don't have nct in the name.
I saw some people put their version of explanations, but I figured it's still confusing so I put my 2 cents in to try to help:
NCT (23 for now) is the main group. They only all come together for special events or dance performances. There is not yet an NCT song where they all sing/rap. Started out as 18 members and will add more as time goes on.
NCT U (any members) is the name they gave to when random members sometimes group up to release a single.
NCT DREAM (7 members) has most of the youngest members and marketed towards a younger audience until they grew up.
NCT 127 (10 members) focuses on the Western market. 127 is longitude of Seoul, and their goal is to show the world kpop.
WayV (7 members) focuses on the Chinese market. They are kinda separated from the others because of political tension between the two countries.
Some of the members are in 2 of the fixed groups, which is why the numbers don't add up and you might see repeating faces. They all have similar sounds that make them NCT but you can still tell slight differences. DREAM has that cute sound that turned into teenage angst, 127 is just cool and kinda experimental, and WayV has that futuristic space sound. Then U is all over the place depending on the members.

The main group is NCT (Neo Culture Technology) then NCT is divided into several units. Meanwhile, until now on June 2021 there are 4 units :
1. NCT 127
2. NCT Dream
3. Wayv
4. NCT U
NCT U is United, which means combined. So Unit U is a combination of all existing units, while because now there are only 127 units, Dream and Wayv. Then "U" is a combination of the three. Unlimited number of members can be 2/3/4/5/6/7 and so on. The unit is formed according to the timbre of the sound and music genre that suits the character of the member. Therefore, each song that are produced has different members. It is possible that in the future there will be new units that flexible.
As of June 2021, all NCT members totaled 23 people from various country.

B. There are 7 active members of NCT Dream (in the Dream unit there are 2 members who are also members of 127 namely Mark and Haechan).
C. There are 7 active members of Wayv.
D. Also there are 2 members who just joined in November 2020 namely Shotaro (Japan) and Sungchan (South Korea). These two members don't have a unit yet, the rumor is that NCT's new unit will come out in the 3rd quarter of this year.

The first unit is the NCT 127. 127 is a longtitude from South Korea, which is expected by NCT 127 as a Global Idol Group based in South Korea and will introduce Kpop to the world.
At first there were 10 members of NCT 127, but 1 member (Winwin) is currently on hiatus and is active in the Chinese unit NCT (Wayv). Now NCT 127 is active with 9 members, namely:
1. Lee Taeyong (South Korea) the young guy who you told handsome on MV. Hehe. He is a Leader (not only Leader of NCT 127 but leader of all NCT Units), Main Dancer, Main Rapper, Choreographer, Producer, Idea Bank, Composer, Center of Visual, Main Visual, Actor, Model, All Rounder.
2. Moon Taeil (South Korea) as Main Vocal, Composer and a Model. The oldest member of the entire NCT. One of the NCT members who smart at academic. Mastering high notes, piano and guitar musical instruments.
3. Johnny Suh (USA-Chicago) as Lead Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Lead Rapper. He has been a trainee for almost 9 years because he has to go back and forth from Chicago to South Korea to finish high school. A DJ, Model, Composer, Pianist, athletic body and very strong, mastering many physical sports.
4. Nakamoto Yuta (Japan) as Lead Dancer, Lead Vocalist and Model. Previously, Yuta was in school as a reliable soccer player. If he doesn't become an Idol he wants to be a footballer. He has pretty good drawing skills.
5. Kim Doyoung (South Korea) as Main Vocal, Actor, Model. One of the smartest members in NCT. Has a friendly and savage personality. He has a good leadership spirit and likes to help leaders in disciplining members.
6. Jeong Jaehyun (South Korea) as Lead Vocal, Lead Rapper, Visual, Model and Actor. As a child he lived in America for 4 years. Therefore, his English is fluent. Has a deep voice. Very good at basketball and bowling.
7. Kim Jungwoo (South Korea) as lead vocal, lead dancer, visual and model. He graduated from the Mechanical Engineering School. Very humorous personality.
8. Mark Lee (Canada) as Main rapper, main dancer, lead vocal, model and actor. Guitar player, composer. Is the captain of the NCT Dream unit. A very innocent, friendly and laughable personality.
9. Lee Haechan/ Lee Donghyuck (South Korea) as Main Vocal, Lead Dancer, Model. A very cheerful and nosy personality. The youngest member in the unit NCT 127. Besides mark, he is also a member of NCT Dream.
That's my explanation about NCT 127, later if you need explanation about NCT Dream or Wayv I will explain one by one about them like this.
FYI, 23 members of NCT have a high spirit of tolerance, a very high spirit of donation, have a single mindset and are mature even though they are young. Very good at sports, they are professional gamers, every vocalist can rap well, as well as a rapper can do vocals well.

I just want to let you know, that the thing with Taeil's iq was a rumor and he later clarified that it wasn't true.
He is still really smart tho and had really high grades :)
