I've been crafting and self teaching via the internet all my life, and this has to be one of the clearest, most thorough and yet concise tutorials I've ever seen. You answered every question that came to my mind, and I feel totally ready now to start my own project. Thank you so much!
You mentioned that PVA glue was not easy to find in craft stores, but it is very easy to find in hardware stores. Many glues that are marketed as "wood glue" or for use to glue wood to wood is actually PVA glue. I tried a little test notepad with wood glue I had lying around, and it turned out beautiful. (To be exact, the glue I used is called "no more nails" and is labelled as an all-purpose/multi-use construction adhesive for many different kinds of materials. It worked great for my test pad, and I can't wait to try it with a full sized notepad.) Edit: I should add, some wood glues are tinted yellow. Make sure the one you're getting dries clear or white.
Thank you I have wood glue at the house I can try. I would also think if I have yellow I can color it with paint. I have liquid watercolors I can drip in
It's ordinary white glue, Elmer's etc. Why didn't she know that? And it's poly vinyl acetate, not poly vinyl adhesive. Man, she's dumb, never looks stuff up before she posts
I’ve been using notepads for writing notes for my electrical engineering lectures. The thing is my A5 blank notepad was bought in France and I cannot find any A5 blank notepads in the Uk, so I wanted to make my own using A4 papers. This tutorial helped me a lot cheers.
This is SOOO helpful! I really appreciate you trying out the different glues and linking everything you used in your blog post. I've wanted to get into stationery making for so long and I'm finally making notepads for a final studio project to finish out my graphic design degree!
Stationary is totally the best. I’ve been watching aPenas Illustrator on UA-cam and she does a lot of stationary tutorials. So looking her up might help you too! ua-cam.com/video/LhWQSOVVKLg/v-deo.html
Simple and easy, thanks so much for testing out the different glues! Glad to know I already have one that works perfect for this (the Tacky one ^^) Cheers!
This is great! I have paper pads I'd like to use but they have sayings or advertising on them that I don't want. I was cutting them off but then I had stacks of loose paper. I thought, wouldn't it be nice if I could figure out how to glue them together again after cutting off what I don't want. I googled it and there you were. Even better, because you sampled different glues. Thanks so much!
I have not! That sounds fascinating though- I really do love glues and it would be fun to try! Thanks for taking the time to comment- I’m off to Google padding clue!
Shamu Blue oh I’m so glad!!! Thank you for leaving this comment. I always hope I’m connecting with the people watch my videos. You totally made my day.
Thank you doing the comparison of the different types of glue. I've tried PVA and wonder about if it would work for a full-sized (8 1/2 x 11") notebook. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing. Brian
Hi! I’m honestly not sure, it was a medium-weight though. It doesn’t matter a ton, but a thicker weight will make the product seem more like a quality product then if you used something thin (like a cereal box). If you know what the back of a sketch pad is like, I like a comparable thickness to that. Hope this helps!
Hi Gaonou- I’ve only tried the mod podge with glitter that I demo in the video. But I assume it’s the same formula as regular mod podge (except with glitter). I guess I don’t know that though!
I'm so sorry for asking this, but I've really enjoyed the impact of your presence on this superb instructional video. Sigh* Are you taken? I'm sorry, but there is much to be said about how attractive a woman's voice paired with instructional knowledge can be. Delete this comment if you must, but I want more women to understand how beautiful their contributions to this world really are.
I have mixed feelings. I would use many of these glues to glue paper together permanently, so it is weird to consider using them for temporarily binding them.
There’s a little bar at the bottom of the video that you can scroll forward but then you wouldn’t get all the info. That or go watch a different video and take your bad mojo with you. Haha
Yup. But my tongue slips. And I still pronounce mod podge as modge podge too. Mistakes happen and chem was not my thing. Next time I do a video on this I’ll try hard to say it right.
@@WellCraftedStudio This tutorial was helpful to me. I made my first notepad this morning. Next I will design a custom one on my iPad and print out the sheets. But at least I know what to do to make it stick. Ha. Thank you.

This is an awesome project! I used regular modpodge and it worked great...next time I think I’d sprinkle glitter on it before it dries!
Thank you!!!! I love that you loved it- and thanks so much for leaving a comment here!!! I would definitely recommend the glitter next time. 🤩 💕

Thank you for this awesome tutorial and for the free downloads!!
How many pages do you normally place on each notepad?
About 30- I print 10 of the sheets and cut them into 1/3rds.
I was wondering what glue to use for my memo pad, but now thanks to your video, I'll use pva glue
Thank You
❤
YAY!!! I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you for share this with us! Great result :)
I’m glad you think so! Thanks for your comment!
With needing to do 2 coats, could you do PVA then the glitter modge podge if you didn’t want to do all modge podge?
Yes! That’s a great way to do it. Thanks for watching!
So helpful! Thank you!
Watching this in 2021 and have found the tutorial to be super helpful! Many thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad! If you’re interested I do have a Vday Gnome printable memo pad for free on my blog too. It’s pretty cute.

Hi Brian! Thanks for leaving a comment! I’m love to know if you try the notebook and if it works for you.❤️
I've got a 2021 planner made. Hopefully it will last the full year! Lol
Cool idea ! 😊
Very Helpful!!! Thanks
PVA - polyvinyl adhesive
mod podge
rubbber cement
tacky glue
elmer's school glue
Awesome video! Ty
Thanks!
What type of elmer glue did you use, was it the multipurpose, extra strong one? Also, what chipboard do you find works best without warping?
If the PVA is clear, maybe you could dust some glitter in between coats?
@@laprimanerda7333 great idea!
This is nice, I wish I would have found it before this date ( 5/17/2021) it would have saved myself a lot of money. Nice video, great job. Keep it up.

What is the name for the paper cutter ❤
gonna use repair adhesive fix-a-floor 👷🏻♀️
I’ll be interested to hear how that goes!
I’d love to know if that worked!
Can this same process be done if we wish to sell like a lot of them to Future customers?
Thank you

so helpfulll 🥺🥺🥺 thank youuuu

Amazing I love this thank you!
Yay!!!! Thanks for telling me so!
Hi , what kind of paper you are using in creating memo pad? Thanks
Hi Joshua, I’m using using a copy paper. I believe it’s slightly heavier than is standard- so maybe a 24- 28 lb. weight. Hope that helps. ❤️
If I wish to print a lot of them for a business is there a third party seller or a business that can print the notepad
How many GSM did you buy for the chipboard?

What about a layer of pva and then a layer of glitter mod podge on top?
That sounds great! I would totally try that.

Thanks
Absolutely! I’m glad it was helpful!
I can't find if this has been asked before or not but what type of paper do you use?
I’m using a slightly thicker copy paper. I’m not sure what weight it was. Sorry!
Oh ok, thank you! At least that gives me a starting point. I'm building my sticker business and am thinking notepads might compliment it well
have you tired mod podge paper craft? does that work?

@@WellCraftedStudio thanks for the reply and yes, your video was helpful as well. hmmmm maybe I do need to do more research before buying mod podge :)
is the color of tacky glue become white when dries, please i wanna know🥺
Sorry I missed this! It dries clear.
I've used PVA glue and a glue gun; and it worked too.
Thanks Shirley!!! That’s cool to know. I’m totally going to try a glue gun.
I wondered about a glue gun but thought it could get messy real fast
Like a hot glue gun?
How does YES glue work?
I haven’t tried it but YES is a PVA so it would act similar to the archival glue I think I tested.
