    I enjoy looking at pics and videos delicting earlier Springfield life. Buildings being new, homes, businesses, churches, schools, etc. Thank you for posting these!

    I was born in the fall of 1960 up in Rolla where my dad was getting his Masters. My folks met at Drury College in the early 50s. While I spent my childhood in Albuquerque (dad was a rocket scientist) I visited family in Springfield. So many memories of taking the bus to Commercial street with my Grandmom, walking up and down, and getting yummy diner food at WoolWorths. She was a gentle dear soul. She died in 1978 and I still miss her.

    That was Central Assembly on Boonville St. Calvary Temple was on Grand between Grant and Campbell. I loved seeing places I remember going to with my mom and dad.

    why did we remove our trolleys? also our city used to be covered in parking, eww...
