11 years ago smoking a pen drive was a cyberpunk dystopia, nowadays teenagers are doing this 😂. Just a few more years for pen-drive "injectable" drugs appear.
It is amazing this video was made well over 10 years ago as the technological singularity is now in sight with AI and quantum computing already on the doorstep.
@@Adino1 timewave zero was ahead of its time, hellectro/industrial/aggrotech could've learned a lot from this song but didnt and is dying rapidly today, because hardstyle offers enough and better options. sad but true.
I first saw this random amazing video clip in 2020, and then I didn't listen to this song anymore. But I regretted and tried to find it but without succes, since then I was sad 😢 but now on 18/09/2023 I FOUND IT!!! 😊 I'M SO HAPPY NOW.
OK. I have to agree with both of you. Back in the early 90' we used to wait for a new game release, online gaming was very limited but still game play used to be more than hires graphics. Sometimes it didn't matter if you had an Amstrad, Atari ST, Amiga or even ZX Spectrum or Commodore 64! It was all about proper game play that mattered. I sometimes miss those years! But anyway future is here and that's the way it is I guess...
Son of Northern Darkness I dunno, for sure it's not as profitable as it used to be but the games industry is looking fine to me. Besides, a lot of bands work full-time as they make music, and that's a much bigger project than it appears to be. I don't see why a talented game developer (for example) couldn't financially back up their art with a career in software development. If you have the passion, it's possible - I'm on the road myself and I think this would be a fucking excellent project! Also, people can easily change, especially in masses. If there's no audience, make one! We live in a high-tech world and naturally people are more interested in technology-oriented themes. Maybe it's about time the masses and their culture embraced the future eh? :D
I still think this is one of the best music videos made. It's like a short little story which really is cool. Also the bike makes the story take you on a "journey" so to speak :)
I always watch this video when I'm high and it never fails to amaze me. Very trippy. I love the style, it's kind of like flipping through a cyberpunk comic, with a Tron aesthetic and A Scanner Darkly feel to the art style. But I can't quite put my finger on it. It's unique. I feel as though I've absorbed a full length feature film and story within the timeframe. Still can't comprehend everything about what's happening but I enjoy the openness to interpretation and the entertainment.

I love Grendel. Amazing. One of my favorite new bands. I used to jog to this stuff now I ride my bicycle like a lunatic every time Grendel comes on Pandora Combichrist Radio. Really good stuff. It makes you feel like Rocky Balboa.
I'm shocked! A man ahead of his time! A cool computer action game about all our cyber addictions-electronic cigarettes-the Internet IS A MASTERPIECE!!!!
JR Tillett When you tell your boss that you're late because your flesh shred across your robot heart, and there were additional delays due to green lightening, what does he say? Because mine fired me.
skeletontea That's awful to hear! When I told my boss why I was similarly late for my shift at the local Cyber-Cocaine Zaibatsu Outsourced Customer Care Call Center, District 09FF (he's the Team Lead!), he just shook his head and replied, "Fuckin' Tuesdays."

Some days ago, while driving my sister's kid from place A to B, they said they'd learned to love this song from their older brother... I told them that it was I who introduced the song to their older brother to begin with and much of their musical stuff was from me. #mindblown how good this song has been for all these years. Still gives me solace when I come back for nostalgia.
I come home after a good night with friends and being stood up to my favourite band of all time releasing their first music video. It almost moved me to tears because I visualised how a Grendel video would look for so long and now it just looks amazing. I can't wait till time wave zero gets here. Thank you for such an amazing video to such a fucking amazing song.
Not sure how I came across this at 6 in the morning, but I'm diggin it. Been a while since I heard any new industrial acts. Hope to catch these guys live in the future.
Such an underappreciated video. Grendel have always been ahead of their time and the the creator of this video had some impressive imagination making it :)
Sweet. Came thanks to Vivid Vivka's post about it, but stayed for the video and music. Psychdelic and weird, very cool, definitely love it. And yay, Vivid Vivka cameo FTW!
@evolutioncinema it means a lot to me to reply to me. Its an amazing video, Grendel originally inspired me to make music some 3-4 odd years ago. I'm glad to see things are still going strong on the home front for them. And I am glad there are such talented creators like yourselves out there in order to add to the creativity that this world desperately needs. :)

totally agree! wake up people and look up Donald Marshall!! spread the word!!! he made this song for them as a clone so they mock the world and people have no clue how much truth is in it.
I agree, it's an interesting change from the usual hard-hitting industrial graphics we're used to seeing from Grendel. I've been anticipating this album for some time now, and this video only increases the ever-heightening adrenaline. It's almost too much to bear as I wait for FedEx to bring me my pre-order. DX

This video is like the cutscene from every cyberpunk-themed video game ever made in the 90's cobbled together
Thank you very much! It was certainly a challenge trying to get the visuals be worthy of Grendel's superb sonic qualities.

Son of Northern Darkness Not true... Gaming is one of the biggest industries out there, bigger than movies.
