March 19th, 2021 Stage IIIA Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (Non-Smoking)
February 2022 Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (spreading to Brain, and other parts of lung and lymph nodes)
Gene Mutation EGFR with Exon 20 Insertion
TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
CURRENT TREATMENT:

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. I have interstitial lung disease due to systemic sclerosis, and I TOTALLY understand how hard a pulmonary function test is.

I really, really miss Jenny. 😢 She was so pretty and such a great mom. She deserved to live. Like all the other cancer patients. Treatment is brutal. Hoping easier treatments and cures are in the near future.

Hi Jenny, I had a pulmonary function test because I couldn’t breath without oxygen. They claimed after the test I had COPD. I never accepted that diagnosis. I was hospitalized twice for the breathing issue. They claimed from pet scan I had two masses. It took doctors 7 months to diagnose me. I had surgery on April 3. I had pulmonary embolism that turned into a pulmonary infarction. clogged a vein so blood couldn’t go thru my left lung. Killing off some of my lung. I’m still recouping and still on oxygen.
Can you imagine the many doctors I saw and tests I’ve done. It took a thoracic dr to figure it out. I’m in Southern California.

Hi Jenny. I battled triple negative breast cancer in 2021 & 2022. A terrible long lasting side effect that I have from both chemotherapy and radiation treatments is dry mouth. I’m now under the care of a head and neck surgeon due to my salivary glands not producing saliva as freely as they used to. I now see my dentist three times a year as opposed to the two yearly check ups to maintain my gums and teeth. Massaging the areas under and above my jawline helps stimulate saliva production after using warm/moist compresses. Eating a small amount of yogurt daily and holding it in my mouth also helps with reducing tiny sores. I follow and pray for you and your family. God bless you!

Prayers go out to you and your family my mother lived from 1970 to 2014 with one lung 🫁 she had good days and bad plus she worked and raised 3 kids by herself she died retire but she was like you always trying to be cheerful ❤

I came across your channel a month or so ago. Praying for a full recovery for you. I was actually behind you and your family in line at Disneyland this past Saturday but I didn’t want to disturb your precious family time. I was glad to see you all enjoying yourselves at the happiest place on Earth.

Just a tip from experience. If you go on albuterol (I occasionally use an inhaler) don't drink coffee after, the jitters are magnified.
I am a Childrens Nurse, and I watch your videos all the time, because I find you so inspiring and inspirational, you truly are such a beautiful and pure person inside and out. You could look at what’s happened to you, with anger, but you just are so pure, take it in your stride are so positive and you truly inspire me and I’m sure others!

Try cucumber slices. My mom suffered with dry mouth from her medications. My sister sliced up cucumber and mom would put it on her tongue. Instant relief. Not expensive. She didn't eat them, just keep in your mouth until it dries up again. I hope this helps you get a little relief. Love your family!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Albuterol is used for asthma. Works great, but does make one jittery. You look beautiful as usual and strong. We love you Jenny! Hugs of love and comfort to you and yours.
this is TRUE! When I had covid they gave me that and I couldn't figure out why I was so dizzy and loopy feeling. Don't like that stuff.
I have a 2.2 inch mass in my right lung and I will have a lung PET scan and biopsy soon. I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in March of 2020 and had chemo/double mastectomy/radiation. I was quite shocked last week when my doctor's office called about the recurrence. I have watched Jenny for a year now and little did I know I would somewhat follow in her journey.

I do not have cancer but do have COPD and Sideroblastic Anemia. I'm amazed at how similar the things you have to go through are the same as mine and your feelings about everything are very similar. I hate that breathing test but not because it hurts but because I know I won't "pass" it. Albutural that they use in the breathing treatment will make you feel jittery and I hate that too!! I had to go in the hospital a few weeks ago and ended up have 5 breathing treatments.....I felt like I had drank 200 cups of coffee! You are in my prayers every day.

I lost my beautiful Mama in 2020 to Leukemia. I know the battle and tole it takes on you physically and emotionally.

I was a research technician for a pulmonologist and people were coming thru the clinic all the time for pulmonary function tests. I can tell you NO ONE ever judges anyone by the "quality" of their performance.
Albuterol is what every asthma patient (like me) carries around as a rescue inhaler. I HATE it. Even though it is wonderful for opening my air passages, I HATE THE ANXIETY it induces!!!!!
That’s EXACTLY what was in my mind when she said that! These are healthcare providers and generally you’re ill if you are going to the healthcare provider so… that’s just the way it goes. They’re used to it they don’t judge anyone because they’re ill. If they did, they sure are in the wrong job!! 😢

Dearest Jenny, I've never been able to blow up balloons. I get a very dry mouth from the morphine I take for my arthritis in my knee. I also don't like sleeping lying down, as it's become a very bad habit. I'm due to have my second full knee replacement, but I'm terrified because I don't sleep flat. I'm going to have to work on that as well as losing weight. You are so amazing, Jenny. I don't think you could do this without yours truly. It's lovely to see you positive, but that's the best way to deal with this. I personally believe that stress will feed the cancer. Why don't you go and get your hair styled by a hairdresser? I think that would be a nice thing to do. Take the children along with you, and have a family day doing that. I think you're doing so well. I thought you looked very cosy in that chair, too. I love you too, and I'm going to support you as long as I'm here. I'm going to send you something for your PO BOX, all the way from Bridgend, South Wales UK. The weather is pretty miserable here. You really keep me going because I find life difficult too. Keep doing what you're doing. Medicine is evolving as "we speak." The clinical trail must be doing something, and it's also helping you make memories with your precious children. Your parents must be finding this tough, too. Did they ever discuss lung removal? My uncle had his removed when he had lung cancer and he lived pretty well for 15-20 years. He was 88 ❤

I can walk with you Jenny. I also walk slowly due to heart and lung conditions and no longer try to keep up with others who walk much faster than I. And I also am familiar with having painful pulmonary function tests, which are no fun. The technician doing the pulmonary function test is not allowed to give you the results, only a doctor can.
Same with any scans etc
When I find videos like yours usually a person from the video is already death. I'm so happy that I find you and you're still alive. It's still a chance!

Kyle is a wonderful support partner in all this too. I’m still awaiting my CT & MRI on the 15th of May re: uterine/omentum cancer results as a Saddle Pulmonary Embolism interrupted my original course of surgery for Feb. 28th which is now June 8th. This date is fluid depending on my scans 🤞🏻🙏. I’m sending you 🙏&❤️&🤗 as always.

Hi Jenny, I work with cancer patients in radiation therapy and we often recommend Xylimelts for dry mouth. It really seems to help. It is a small tablet you stick in your mouth and it works for hours.

I'm sure the tech will be aware of your cancer diagnosis...I have had 3 & I understand how afraid you are...I hope it goes well for you!! There are mouth prebiotic losenenges...They might help❤

I have 2-3 albuterol treatments per day at the height of high pollen season as an asthmatic, which is right now. It does help. Wishing you well!
As a chronic lung disease patient (Non Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis with Mycobacterium Avium Complex...phew!!!), I can tell you, I thoroughly sympathize going through the PFT's. I detest the test and never think I'm not going to pass it, but we know there is no passing grade. It's where you are at the moment. Good bad or indifferent, it's a sample of how well your lungs are working.
