Nice round up Justin, but keep an eye on Hubsan. They modified the 501 & 502 series into selfie quads, available next month. With prices starting at $99.
Hope they fixed the 502 brushed motor problems. I have one as a paperweight because I got tired of replacing motors every 5 flights. Wish it was better, it is an ideal platform as far as size and GPS capability.
Thanks for the review. Mavic and the JJRC seem to be the best at both extremes. I was reading another blog how DJI might come out with a Mavic Standard. I just got the Phantom 3 Standard, so I might get the JJRC for the fun factor for pocket/fly anywhere fun.
Superb summary of the current situation. Precisely put and includes all the relevant considerations for new and experienced quadcopter enthsiasts. A thorough reference video for anyone seeking selfie drone advice in 2017. Think the JJRC is now 720p not 480p though! Justin, Could you now do the same for racing quadcopters please from micros up?
Thanks for the video! And thanks for me blowing a thousand and being happy as a clam ;-) I own too many quads including a Phantom 3. As you said "The Mavic being the most locked in drone I have ever flown". I could not agree more. Thanks!
Great, perfect, no BS review. Very informative. You explain very well all the features ofl the different drones. I think I will go with the DJI Mavic. Thank you
Thanks for a great review! Almost pulled the trigger on the Xiro Mini. I blew the dust off my Bebop did a firmware up date and was blown away at how much better the video is now. I'm now considering a Bebop 2 due to the extended battery life, or just do it and buy the Mavic Pro ;-) Thanks again!
Which is the best drone to do a walk and talk and also capture cycling and running follow footage? I've not purchased one yet so I'm completely novice.
Glad to see that the dobby has just as good build quality as it looks! Was kinda bummed on the flight time with the price tag though. The elfie looks like a great bargain for the price tag. Thanks for the reviews it helps a lot!
How would you compare the wingsland s6 with a controller due to come out soon? When will DJI enter the selfie market? I would consider a mini mavic or mavic jr. I would like to stay under 250 grams but battery life is always short.
About dobby drone I have one update, range 50m you had because you change frequency on 5GHz when you change on 2,4GHz then on open space you can fly even till 136m (based on my expirences) I saw movies even from 150m without loosing signal (without signal extenders).
Hi, Morii, could you please join our ZEROTECH Official DOBBY Owners Group at: facebook.com/groups/647444278754560/ to share with more our DOBBY Pocket Drone users. Thanks. #LetsDOBBY
hello again, just finished watching this impressive review....as a Photography enthusiast I have been thinking about getting into the Selfie drone side of the hobby. I am also into Nature and i was looking to get a propper portable drone. Can you tell me if you have done any research into how the Mavic work's with Android/Chrome device's as this is my preferred choice of computing device as i find it to be the most useful tool because of price and allround versatility when it come's to Mobile computing...(for me that is). i have been a little hesitant due to a pretty bad expirience with the Parrot BeBop. Any information you could provide would be highly appriciated. I appologise for any miss spelling as i seem to have forgotten how to according to this new fangled machine i'm useing. Thank's again from Dublin.
Great video. Was considering buying the DJI but your advice on buying a cheaper one to learn to fly it is great. I always think if you buy cheap you buy twice but the original investment will be for 'flying school' and not wasted - makes sense and made the decison for me. Thank you
Hey JD... Great channel. I got here while researching drones as I feel that one could really come in handy both personally and work related. I love doing research to find my 'perfect fit' when buying new things but there is just so much info on drones that I'm getting lost. My needs are simple enough... a close flying drone (around myself for clothing pics and video and around a car for the same) which delivers pictures good enough for a website and video good enough for UA-cam at a price that doesn't break the bank. I do like the follow me mode and having something with simple controls would be nice. With those things in mind, could you offer a suggestion? I was thinking Breeze or Xplorer. . .
I'm looking for a nice, portable, feature-packed, and solid drone with good flight time for captures on hikes or sports... but I can't decide between the Breeze or Xiro Xplorer. Any suggestions on which is better? Obviously, the Mavic Pro is the best, but that's a little pricey for me....
Which one is the quickest to get up and flying between the Dobby, Explorer mini, and the Breeze? I'm not really looking for one that takes a few minutes to calibrate the onboard compass by rotating it 12 different ways, or takes awhile to connect to enough satellites every time I want to take it out of my hiking pack lol.
Just liked and subscribed after watching this informative vid. Been looking into getting my first drone. I really like that orbit mode on the breeze 4k, do the cheaper ones have that feature? If not, would the breeze 4k be good for an inexperienced user?
hi justin . love your channel 😊. the problem we have, over in the UK is that non of these drones are sold over here (except the mavic which is impossible to get hold of ) therefore, we are limited to a very small market unless we order them from abroad. thanks for this video 😊
Hi Andrew. Apologies, just been online and I've notice that one of our local quad retailers sell the Yuneec, but they are out of stock. I've gone for the Wingsland S6 V2. Looks like a good small foldaway drone :-)
would u gys form the us fly the dobby in national parks and stuff like that? u dont have to register it for faa so its a toy, not a uav so it should be allowed? any thought about that? i want to go for a typical west coast trip and want to take my dobbby with me for sure ;-)
I have the Mavic, totally recomended, I'm very old school, I usually fly FPV RC planes and thought quads were boring but the Mavic (which I got for a photography job) it's awesome and got me into this, next I'll scratch build a racer and a heavy lift for my Sony X70.
I have the Mavic. I LOVE it. total cost was 1077.00 with tax in California. care plan was 99.00 additional and 2 spare batteries with the charging hub was 230.00. the portability is incredible.
Great video, thanks! Breeze would be perfect but only 8 minutes of fly :-( And seems Xiro Mini is not sold in Germany... I must be firm and go for the Mavic
I see that the Mavic has a no-fly zone feature. I would be flying within a no-fly zone, but in an approved area near an airport. Our parks system has an airfield near our airport and I have AMA membership to fly in that area. ????. Can I circumvent this no-fly zone feature?
Hi, I am traveling to Cuba whose Internet is restricted. Are you saying if I am out in the middle of no where with my Iphone 7+ , I just need my phone and I can use this .. I appreciate any tips!
HI there, I liked wachting your video. My I ask you a question. I have almost none experciene white drones but I like making movies. In novemeber we will go climing the mount Kilimenjaro for my wife 40 birthday and I wanne give here a fantastic video of ore trip. Can you tell me witch drone would be perfect for the job ? tkx R.
!? I had a GoPro Karma (before it was recalled lol) The Mavic wasn't available yet, in fact not until quite recently. So how did DJI beat karma to market? At least to the average consumer.
Drone Camps RC Ahhh...I thought maybe it had to do with features of the Spark. Yeah, I bought a new Breeze with 2 batteries on TV (HSN of all places). Best I've seen is $399 anywhere else.
HSN? Ha thats awesome. The one I have was only flown a few times. So it's for sale in my Quad Club on my dronecamps.com website. I figure $199 is a pretty good deal for someone. You'll like the Breeze 4k. It's a pretty solid flying quadcopter. I like Yuneec because they seem more down to earth than the DJI guys.
T Dingman There's a reason why smaller drones are getting high performance. Large drones are easily spotted. I'm not surprised that he's not flying the P3 or P4.

Drone Camps RC ic
Drone Camps RC I never buy any drone until you all review it. Love you guys. You’re honest and no bull folks.
Love this great seifie drone information! It has enlightened me on which drone to get. Thanks!!!
Great reviews Justin!! Looking forward to more videos
Nice round up Justin, but keep an eye on Hubsan. They modified the 501 & 502 series into selfie quads, available next month. With prices starting at $99.
Oh nice! Will do !
Hope they fixed the 502 brushed motor problems. I have one as a paperweight because I got tired of replacing motors every 5 flights. Wish it was better, it is an ideal platform as far as size and GPS capability.

As soon as I saw the Mavic Pro in the lineup, I already knew which was best.

The yuneec breeze also sells a controller
Great, perfect, no BS review. Very informative. You explain very well all the features ofl the different drones. I think I will go with the DJI Mavic. Thank you
You're very welcome
Thanks for a great review! Almost pulled the trigger on the Xiro Mini. I blew the dust off my Bebop did a firmware up date and was blown away at how much better the video is now. I'm now considering a Bebop 2 due to the extended battery life, or just do it and buy the Mavic Pro ;-) Thanks again!
Good video. Nice round up! Huge price range from $50 to $1000. Don't forget the Wingsland S6
If you check some reviews of the Wingsland S6 you will probably realize its better to stay clear of those.
Which is the best drone to do a walk and talk and also capture cycling and running follow footage? I've not purchased one yet so I'm completely novice.
Alison Vairi Go for the YUNEEC BREEZE 4K DRONE; Unless you wanna spend on the MAVIC!!!
Bebop 2 not in the video but very good follow me function good camera
Deez Nutz.... not a camera, but you can have ball.... or two.
Glad to see that the dobby has just as good build quality as it looks! Was kinda bummed on the flight time with the price tag though. The elfie looks like a great bargain for the price tag. Thanks for the reviews it helps a lot!
COOL REVIEW
what about the Eachine E55 Mini WiFi FPV in compare with the above ?
Justin You sure packed a lot of information into that 23 min. Thanks for your time and effort in putting this video together. 👍🏼
One other thing that the Xiro mini might have is the fact that they are working on a controller for it that will act as wifi range extender too.
Awesome Justin. Thanks for the video.
You are most welcome Samir.
How would you compare the wingsland s6 with a controller due to come out soon?

I would consider a mini mavic or mavic jr.

Quite happy with my Yuneec Breeze, great quality software-stabilized video, unfortunately I keep losing wifi connection at around 35 meters distance.
great video!!!
what you recommend dobby or breeze for first drone
Great video. Was considering buying the DJI but your advice on buying a cheaper one to learn to fly it is great. I always think if you buy cheap you buy twice but the original investment will be for 'flying school' and not wasted - makes sense and made the decison for me. Thank you
You're welcome Franky
thanks for the vids watching from california
Thanks. Have you tried the Wingsland S6? Image quality between the Debby and the Breeze? Debby seem a lot more portable. for travel.

Breeze has better video. But xplorer mini is faster

That'll be the Xiri. I have them all. Dobby needs a lot of long calibration and the Breeze takes ages to connect.
u just got a new subriber! nice vid mate!
did you check Wingsland S6? doo you recommend that?
Good work!
Thanks for the info Justin! 😎
Just liked and subscribed after watching this informative vid. Been looking into getting my first drone. I really like that orbit mode on the breeze 4k, do the cheaper ones have that feature? If not, would the breeze 4k be good for an inexperienced user?
which do you suggest between jjrc and cheerson Cx-10wd tx
Great video 👍

Billy Sherratt the yuneec breeze is sold in U.K. And Dobbie
Hi Andrew. Apologies, just been online and I've notice that one of our local quad retailers sell the Yuneec, but they are out of stock. I've gone for the Wingsland S6 V2. Looks like a good small foldaway drone :-)
Does faa registration still apply with the new ruling a few days ago?
would u gys form the us fly the dobby in national parks and stuff like that? u dont have to register it for faa so its a toy, not a uav so it should be allowed? any thought about that? i want to go for a typical west coast trip and want to take my dobbby with me for sure ;-)
Do you think the Elfie would be able to handle additional weight say 1.37 oz. I have a small 1080p camera that i think I can attach on the bottom.
I'd say maybe not it's pretty lightweight
I have the Mavic, totally recomended, I'm very old school, I usually fly FPV RC planes and thought quads were boring but the Mavic (which I got for a photography job) it's awesome and got me into this, next I'll scratch build a racer and a heavy lift for my Sony X70.
I like Hubsan can you please reference your information so we can check it out.
It's only August who knows what may still hit the market in 2017 hah. Btw was that the St. John's bridge and Cathedral Park I saw?
Just ordered the DJI Mavic Pro yesterday.
get a phantom 4 pro
I have a P4 Pro. Totally love it.
I have the Mavic. I LOVE it.
total cost was 1077.00 with tax in California. care plan was 99.00 additional and 2 spare batteries with the charging hub was 230.00. the portability is incredible.
Shoulda waited for the Mavic Pro Platinum...
Is some of this drones possibly to use on Huawei P9? (newbeginner) :)
the breeze has a remote now for around 60 bucks. please get and reveiw
Excellent info
if you add a small usb battery, can the drone take off?
Great video, thanks!
Breeze would be perfect but only 8 minutes of fly :-(
And seems Xiro Mini is not sold in Germany... I must be firm and go for the Mavic
bought my breeze 4k on black friday for 200$ plus a remote that was added coundnt be happier
When is the Walkera Vitus coming out I want the head-to-head with the DJi Mavic pro
awesome review tnx!
Hello Justin thanks for the reviews! What do you think about the hover? Are you familiar with that one!?
Who makes it?
Drone Camps RC its called hover passport camera no idea who make it
Ok I'll look it up
does the mavic come with the remote or I have to pay extra if I want one?
Thanks
Comes with!
Awesome🤙 you're missing one thing Walkera Vitus
AJ Alvarez It's promising but I don't think it's out yet.
Is there an ideal setting for uploading videos from the Mavic to FB? Thanks!
Is there a place to put in a sd card our a memory card ?
I see that the Mavic has a no-fly zone feature. I would be flying within a no-fly zone, but in an approved area near an airport. Our parks system has an airfield near our airport and I have AMA membership to fly in that area. ????. Can I circumvent this no-fly zone feature?
You can turn it off if you have permission yep
Are all drones need to be connected to wifi to be controlled?
Dji has their own transmission technology. But I think its all via RF if your talking about the medium. Mavic has like a 4 mile limit.
Hi, I am traveling to Cuba whose Internet is restricted. Are you saying if I am out in the middle of no where with my Iphone 7+ , I just need my phone and I can use this .. I appreciate any tips!
It connects via Y-FI.

can I fit a GoPro session 5 on the dobby
do you recall if the camera on the xiro mini is able to point straight down like Bebop2?
It does.
where to but yuneec breeze??and how much it costs
Plz review the autel evo
How can I order one? I'm a serious buyer but don't need the procedure?
Very helpfull thanks
Yunneec breeze or the zerotech dobby
So which of these drones shoot in RAW or DNG?
Only Mavic Pro shoot RAW
IOC on the Xiro... $500 version of Headless Mode, lol.
surprised to see how cheap the Doby is, pretty nice !!
BTW, nice review. 👍👍
nice video...
you talk about using your phone as the controller for these, could you use a tablet?
Yes you can. For sure!
Lol Best folding drones 2017 still the Mavic pro!!!!still back ordered like crazy till now
which would you say is the best selfie drone for around 200?!
what about the Walkera Vitus 320 will cost around 600 USD (and it is a mavic clone)
Great video! Beautiful models! Good work! Up
Greetings Tomislav
!? I had a GoPro Karma (before it was recalled lol) The Mavic wasn't available yet, in fact not until quite recently. So how did DJI beat karma to market? At least to the average consumer.
Why was GoPro karma recalled? :O
There were cases of them losing power and dropping out of the sky. I guess they fixed the issue and have re-released them now.
i see.. thanks!
Your weight on the Yuneec Breeze is WAY off. You said in the video it weighs 3.3 lbs, but it only has a 385 gram takeoff weight. That's about 0.8 lb.
man! 👍 awesomely thorough video many thanks ! ! 😎
Mavic Pro is amazing !!!
No DJI Spark? Interesting. FWIW, I just picked up a Breeze on sale for $299, which is just a crazy deal for a selfie drone with 2 batteries.
Dji spark wasn't out when the video was made. )$299? Damn I'm selling one for $200 !
Drone Camps RC At $199 yours is a steal! Somebody is going to be very happy with it.
how so you register for the Mavic pro?
registermyuas.faa.gov/
can you give link for India
It is interesting DJI specially :)
A very well done review. Thanks a heap. Cheers.
you wear a claddagh ring are you irish?
Jjrc elfie can also do autoland
Yep
Drone Camps RC The Elfie basically seems to fall out of the sky on auto land.
Mavic ftw! just need to sell a kidney to get one.😆
😂
I sold both of mines and I'm sti..............
Drone Camps RC I Subscribed
T Dingman There's a reason why smaller drones are getting high performance. Large drones are easily spotted. I'm not surprised that he's not flying the P3 or P4.
Narh the dobby wont rip you off I want one
Nice review, thanks!
But there is a mistake in FAA address: the right one is www.faa.gov !
I need this stuff
When reviewing the breeze what is the that bridge location called.
I've had trouble finding blogs/articles stating exactly which drones do not require FAA registration OR pilot certification. I am wanting a drone that will follow me around as I show homes both inside and out, and will follow me as I walk down the street talking about a neighborhood. Since I am new to it all I'm hoping for under $400. I am NOT techie so need something I can easily upload to social media/UA-cam. Plus I need to learn the rules of recording video in a neighborhood. I wouldn't focus on any home in particular, more like the amenities of the area (pool, parks, tennis courts, club houses, local businesses etc). Can anyone direct me to a good website with this info??
www.knowbeforeyoufly.org
where is the home security drone ?
I like this keep up the work
just got my mavic yesterday in the mail.
Sweet! You'll love it!
Can that drine can connect in adriod phone please anwser
which ones do not need a license
