first time i saw family guy i tought *holly mollesting priest its rik mayall*...but i was wrong so terribly wrong...may god have mercy on our souls..a cha cha cha
I actually never liked him that much, probably because of his anti-European pro-Tory stances I couldn't really stand, moreover after his impersonation of mr. Alan B'stard, it made me think he was backing what he was satirising, and I couldn't stand it... I had never really liked him that much also because he was always shouting like that, it was too much for me, really. After all this wee rant of mine, R.I.P. Rik Mayall, whoever you were, you were entirely entitled to be that way. :-(
I know, I know I'll sound completely out of tune commenting Rik Mayall's death, he's always been adored by the many, he's now on his way to become a myth, an untouchable 'holy figure', but I think this is exactly what he didn't want US to be... if ever there was one thing he taught me as a kid, that was being CRITICAL. I'll never treat him as an untouchable 'holy figure', and since there were things I didn't appreciate about him, I'll keep having my say on that. All the rest is just due celebration to an (apparently) free man.
Good question. It makes me think quite a lot about myself. This is what I've come up with: there must be some kind of 'masochism' inside of me, in fact when I know there's something I don't like I often get back to it and get that strange feeling of curiosity, as if I needed to review my opinions all the time. That's what I suppose I'm doing.
He was pretty handsome young man!! RIP Rik
When you can make an American laugh with your British comedy ...you know you have true talent. Rest in peace Rik
This is my happy place. My favourite sketch of all time.
Rest in peace, Wik!

I love this of Rik! Rip you beautiful man! Will always love and remember you! An inspiration and a role model to everyone
Truly sad to learn that such a great comedian has passed on. RIP to The People's Poet!
But how can he be dead when we still have his poems?
I would reply with the proper follow-up, but it'd involve shitting myself, and I'm afraid my admiration of Rik only goes so far...
Not a single dislike, as it should be.
Funny + handsome= perfection❤️
Comic genius of the highest order.
I watched him do this in the Tramshed Deptford in the early 80s and we were all on the floor laughing, absolutely hysterical. Truly a sad loss.
what a strange and wonderful man.
HE LOOKS SO YOUNG HE'S PRACTICALLY A FOETUS OMG...

Who'd have known from here, he'd be so successful - RIP Rik, a true legend!
Can't believe it's been 10 years since we lost him.
I had such a crush on him.
RIP Rik Mayall going to miss you so much :-( :-(
@LewisAndRichard 13 years before I was born, but Rik Mayall is definitely my favourite comedian of all time.
Saw him at the comedy club way back .. “ when I take my spear to the theatre “....
Simply Brilliant.
So funny, so gifted.

Ian Curtis
Both goodlooking young men with talent - but beside that they sadly didn't have the same ( optimistic funny, lifeloving / Rik) mood in common!❤❤
so enjoy his films/ videos/youtube anyway! he's magnificent isn't he..ask Vanessa Redgrave! hahahhaha
He got a LOT of mileage out of that character.
No he spells it with a silent p
Just rehash that into the young ones when that begins.. Lol
GOD HE WAS 23
his voice reminds me of stewie from family guy;p

If you don't like him why are you watching his stand up?

Rik was never a Tory supporter.
