Backcountry First Aid Kit Dump

- Remi is going through his med kit mid-season and shows you what he thinks is necessary for a backcountry med kit. Over the years I’ve changed up my kit to include everything I need and nothing that I don't. Going through your kit like this before each season is a great way to take inventory and see what you used, didn’t use, need more of, or completely forgot. Let me know what you think i'm missing in my kit and what you regard as absolute gotta haves.
Great tip on the vacuum bags! I hadn’t thought of that. Also sleep aid!
Tip for those unaware, diphenhydramine is both an antihistamine and sleep aid. It's the ingredient in Benadryl and most sleep aids. Dosing is just different. In case you find yourself somewhere with only one.
Also has anti-emetic properties.
Great kit as a former wilderness trained paramedic that’s a solid kit hemostatic treated dressing are king
😆 great kit huh? I bet you are a book trained paramedic 😂
@@Alaskabuilt_ I’ll bet you have the mental acuity of a 10 year old . 20years military. 25SAR 11law enforcement. What’s your resume
@@sheerwillsurvival2064 so I’m other words you have absolutely no skill set. So why are you a traitor to your country and constitution? When did you decide to break your oath and back tyrants? All law enforcement and all military personnel have broken their oaths. Keep acting like it’s something to be proud of. Tyrants could only rule if the people who swore to protect this country and constitution decided they needed a pay check more then their children needed their freedoms. You wouldn’t survive a day without full backing of the United States tyrannical government. Don’t worry though. The second revolution is inevitable now. War is coming. You can’t vote out a tyrannical government. History proves this.
@@sheerwillsurvival2064 oh my resume is a lifetime of survival in the harshest environments this world knows. Solo.
@@Alaskabuilt_ lol! Your hilarious!
Great stuff! 👍
Nice little kit !
Loving the FirstLite!
Love all your vids man
Throw in some aspirin 81mg for cardiac events. If not for your self, for someone else. Could help spare someone some time, you never know! And weighs nothing.
Thanks for the awesome content Remi! We need a detailed how-to for skinning and field dressing a bear. Keep it coming!
Any thoughts about carrying a tourniquet in the back country?
Should add a tourniquet or two
And trauma shears.
Do you carry a tourniquet? I include antacids (e.g. gaviscon tablets and/or pepcid ac) for those acid reflux moments I tend to have.
Glad to see I had a majority of what you had. I never thought about sleep aid. I guess I just got used to sleeping in the Army.
BTW I thought it was funny when you tossed the moleskin. Your feet are probably so calloused from being out in the field you forget the rest of us are just mere mortals.
I’d add a Tourniquet to that bag , there not heavy and could be the difference in life and death but that’s just my opinion!
One thing I picked up in the military experience that I brought back to my backcountry hunting is making sure you have a good first aid kit. I'd suggest having a good tourniquet, and the belt you wear on your pants is NOT a tourniquet. Sure you could use that if you have absolutely nothing, but are you gonna risk your life over it? It's the same concept as saying, you can hunt deer with a 22lr, but wouldn't you rather take the 308win? Happy to see you have at least some first aid equipment tho.
Nice
Everybody is ultralight cutting toothbrushes and this mf has a rock in there
Do you carry a tourniquet?
If anywhere was going to be pissy about you taking one of their rocks, it would be B.C.
Steri strips?
No tourniquet?
now First Lite?
Another sleep aid, ah somebody is into something…🤣
😆 city people
Bad allergies? go to sleep.... Bahaha
