Brother you need to live a bit
The painting is the easy part, it is all the Prep and clean environment that will make or brake your paint work. When I paint a Car all over, I spend +40 hours on bodywork +10hours on cleaning, Masking and prepping and just 1.5-3h on actual painting.
Having your own signature paint is a whole new level ! Congrats James it looks fantastic 🔥 🔥
I imagine those paint specialists were nearly having heart failure as your drone was flying directly over their precious works of art!!
As in, "Please God, don't let the batteries die now!!!".

James.... you always make interesting videos, but this one is one of your best and there wasn’t a car screaming to it’s redline 😜 All of the people you talked to were so passionate and engaged. I knew paint for automobiles was complicated, but had no clue ! I liked your PPF joke on yourself. I hope your DBX’s become classics one day, from the paint to the badging and interiors. Outstanding video production and informative knowlege, I will never afford a nice car, however when I view an Aston Martin DBX, any colour this video will come to my mind, Thank You and looking forward to the next episode Mr JWW.
Wow, this video brought back so many memories. A long time ago I worked for a couple of companies that supplied the paint line in automotive plants (temperature monitoring systems, paint line flush chemicals and paint booth chemicals). I spent very long hours at Chrysler, Ford, Volkswagen and Nissan plants. The process is very similar but I could see many improvements in this line.
When James asked how did they do it back in the day, I smiled because we had paint robots back in the mid 90's, so it's not that different.
Just a factoid that was true back in the day and maybe is true now: The most expensive process within a car assembly line is the paint system, by far.
While some UA-camrs are just buying the cars and/or killing them to get views, James is taking us on the technical journey of how these vehicles are brought to life. Keep it coming Mr. JWW!!! Respect! Great color choice!
Step by step on how to be non-competitive and lose billions n billions in the automotive manufacturing world. Fingers crossed this SUV can actually build Aston back up from previous bankruptcies. I’m not so sure about that design though but maybe with a renewed partnership from Mercedes using engines and transmissions.

I worked a few months for Axalta Coating Solution and I absolutely loved seeing how car paint gets mixed. Broight me back when seeing this.
As a person with that whole hypersensitivity “issue”, lol, this sort of video is explosively interesting to me. There are a lot of little details that haven’t been mentioned such as some clean room type paint set ups like this will even require a type of moisturizer that is also required for employees to use on exposed skin to keep the flaking down to an absolute minimum. It’s amazing how much dust is created from dry skin alone and that plays a role in surface perfection. Such a cool process when you take into account all the circumstances that are considered in it’s process and method design. The knowledge and dedication to perfection is next level! Very cool. 😎

I might be in the minority but I'm warming up to the design of the DBX, not from the back though. I still think they should've gone the DBS route for the rear instead of the Vantage.

So nice the bumpers are painted with the car, nothing worse than cars with bumpers that a totally different shade of paint... great video, really enjoyed it, amazing colour
Being an Aston owner, I really wish I liked the DBX (and SUVs in general), despite that though, what a fantastic project to be involved in.
The big guy in the paint mixing shop who has 10 years less experience in mixing paint shop, is giving it too much bunny, leaving the more experienced guy not managing to get a word in edgeways .. one of them !!!
I wonder what these people's thoughts are on individuals who spray their own car (in their garage).

All that automation, measurement and control yet the paint is mixed by a bloke using pour cans, a set of scales and stirred with a stick. Doesn’t all the measurement mean nothing if a bit of the pigment is left on the container or stick? Would have thought that stage would be more automated.
All I need now is a Aston Martin mask and paint suit. I remember when the paint plant in Japan went down and we couldn't get Xirrallic pearl for mopars with the PXR paint code.
I wish there were more green cars in the world, its all Black/Red/White and Grey with an occasional Blue, Green is fantastic!!
Every auto UA-camr is using Stereo, but it's an age restricted app. Doesn't make much sense to me, hopefully they'll change that

Not typically a fan of green, but I gotta say that color/paint technology really came out nicely! Probably the nicest shade of green I've seen on a car
So when a luxury car brand charged $8000 to $10000 for a special paint colour. Now you know why.
For me for a super suv I would much rather have a Range Rover Sport SVR. But each to their own. The paint looks great.
The purple RS6 was a better color IMO. Looks like your enjoying the green though.
