I heard they were called Baboon Tarantulas because when they set at the edge of their burrows, their legs hang out and look like the fingers of a baboon.?
Have you raised P. muticus from slings to adults??? i heard that they're EXTREMELY slow growers, taking like 9 years to go from 1/2 inch to like 8 ~ 9 inches max for females
I've had a I mira from a half inch sling .now two and a half. Took it advice an kept her Simi moist doing fantastic.wen I open her in loser she wants to come out for a walkabout.luv her.thanks for your knowledge. Cant find e pachypus.
Interesting that your M.Balfouri female has a blue carapace. Mine has a silver carapace. Negative on humidity M.Balfouri is to be kept dry, with water dish overflowed.
Great videos! Most Baboon species I'm really nervous about. They seem super aggressive and fast... For my first Tarantulas I really want an A. Moderatum and a G. Pulchripes.
Hey Reaper, Iv Been A Sub Since Your 5th Video And I Have Been Keeping Reptiles And Mainly T's Since I Was 6 And I Recently I Upgraded My Flame Rump Tree Spiders Tub To A Cricket Tub Hes Quite Small At The Moment, And Iv Been Told That Its Semi-Arbor And Fully Arbor What One Is True? kthanks -Chainsaw Reptiles

Really informative video...thank you. I'm new to the hobby and have just purchased my first spidering King Baboon (1 inch) ......it seems ok after the first week but it's difficult to know if it is feeding. I'm feeding small pre killed black crickets and live been weevils based on info gleaned from UA-cam........is there any advice you could give me as a novice in the hobby?
Márk N. Mészáros "How people call it"?? I couldn't care less what people call them. Their subfamily is not Harpactirinae family sooo... Not a true baboon."Check around how people call it" ha. Since you're using common names I don't think you know what you're talking about. Don't listen to all that they tell you in the petstores ;)
if you live in africa its all yo can get as what you mentioned is illegal, these come into your house, also we do not have to care about humidty and such as its their natural invironment...
I guess it depends on how much humidity they need. Spiders can get hydrated from the Substrate alone, so a water bowl is not always needed. Some use to mess their water bowls up a lot, kicking it over or throwing substrate in all the time. Also with heavy webbers there is a chance to stress them by damaging their nets every time when changing the water, so maybe if they don't need much humanity some people leave it without a water bowl ? Just my guess.
Hey man i really enjoy your videos you have some awesome Ts ...id love to have a baboon but i dont think im ready yet by any means ive been keeping Ts a little over a year now i have four and they are in GREAT shape ...i have a chaco golden knee , a curly hair, a GBB , and a rose hair could you suggest a species around my experience level that would put me in the direction of a baboon?
Go with a C. Darlingi or Marshalli Slings are cheap & easy to care for. You'll get adjusted to their speed & temperament as they grow. Give them plenty of substrate depth as they're burrowers. Try to start one for them at the edge of the enclosure so you can see their tunnel. Otherwise you may not see them at all.
good morning man.. i just wanna ask a question.. i have 3 baboon.. obt which i set for a arboreal enclosure and i have a darlingi which i set for burrowing setup.. and my 3rd baboon is the ceratogyrus meridionalis.. i dont want him or her to burrow so im asking how can make him web heavy since baboon are known as heavy webbing species also.. thank you sir..
Austin Thomas No screaming, but to "stridulate" is what you mean. Some do that, but i dont know what species exactly are able to do that, I think not all of them are or at least usually do it. It sounds like a hissing noise , can sometimes be heard from even a few feet away and is meant as a warning to leave them alone immediately, like a snake or cat would warn you.
sir your my idol ^^ nice video .. i like the baboons with 2 big foot in back..^^ i cant hear the sound coz poor audio of mine.. pls tell me what name is ..TIA
+TheReapersride How often do you feed your king baboons?? I know they can go for long periods without eating a single darn thing but mine just never comes out more like 5 months now since her post molt then she ate. Do you think your setup is better than a deep 8-10 inch substrate where you won't see them for an eternity?? I think your setup is better than a deep substrate type setup..
Love the Baboon species most of my collection is Old Worlds
Lol two month ago I would not even touch my screen if here was a spider in it , now I'm binge watching T videos and learning my head of ....
nice

How come some of you have water bowls in some cages and not others?
