I absolutely love this video. Since I was a kid it’s been my dream to live/work on a farm, im from Texas and grew up around many of them but moved to California as I got older. Now im majoring in Nutrition and Agriculture so that I can open my own clinic back home.
I'm so glad!! It was always my dream to live on a farm too. My very favorite thing is to be home.
Hello! I know this is an old comment, but when you said you were majoring in Nutrition and Agriculture, that sounded like something I would be interested in but I did some looking and only see separate degrees in Nutrition and Agriculture. If you don't mind, could you let me know where I can find information on a joint Nutrition and Agriculture degree? Thank you!
@@sunandgrapes Hello, im actually doing 2 separate degrees at the same time as a double major so its taking me 5-6 years to graduate instead of 4. I talked to my counselor and asked if I could double major instead of choosing a major and a minor. The courseload isnt too heavy and it gives me multiple options when deciding on a job. There are also specifc schools for agriculture that will allow you to learn more about Nutrition. Hope that helps.
@@melliethemortician Oh ok, thank you so much for the reply!
This video was lovely! I felt at peace watching it. We love what your family is doing at Sunshine Farm!
So glad to hear you liked it!! We appreciate the kind words 😊
I really enjoyed watching your farm tour looking
forward to the next one. I believed I saw Basil 7 times.
How beautiful and peaceful. What an amazing way to live. You inspire me. I would really love to live like this one day! Thank you for the tour!
Your property is absolutely beautiful I’m moving into a hobby farm in a few months and I’m super excited! And this just makes me even more 😂
I’m so in awe of your homestead. Every time I think of getting more pets it seems like such hard work but y’all look so happy and you can tell how much you love it. And you orchard is #goals!!!!
Thank you so much!! The animals are a lot of work, even more so when something goes wrong or we have a health ailment to treat. But of course, as you can tell, we love them all, and love spending time with them! I'm so glad you like the orchard! I cannot wait until it begins to bear fruit in the next couple of years.
Your horse is beautiful. I think all horses are pretty nice, even the people who take pictures it’s them. All horses are so nice ❤️❤️
The garden is big!! Lovely. You must have put a lot of work into this video. Thank you for the tour. ~Heather
Thank you Heather!!
This video is so great! I want to show my kids what the farm is like and this is a perfect source!
Love it!!!!!!😆❤️
Your property is absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of the really pretty paintings of farms that you see for home decor! I love the fact that you adopted those sweet goats ❤️ and those horses 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️
Aww thank you!! The horses and goats are all so, so, sweet. We absolutely adore them.
thank you for sharing, it is very peaceful to live in a farm, but also its a lot of work to feet the animals, and take care of the veges
I would love a tour of the inside of your house! ;)

Gotta have some good farm cats to follow around for all the chores, it's essential! Basil is adorable
Super love what yall are doing out there!!! I listened to the podcast with gold shaw farms and I must say your way of looking at food from a moral perspective inspired me so much. Thank you!!!
That’s awesome Alisha! I’m so glad to hear my words were meaningful to you in some way. And I’m so grateful that you shared that with me! Thank you!

You’re very welcome!
great video lovely to see over your property. The veg garden looks like you will be having a lot of things going on. I have been sent over buy Rose. Good luck with every thing. sue. UK.
Thank you!!
I just love your farm and animals 💕💕
saw you hosted on Two Family Homestead, I like your beds, wish mine were mulched as nicely as yours, good job. I'm so proud for the two of you, getting started on your homestead, with food forest, and lovely garden areas. I'm 61, we bought our 1 acre 15 yrs ago, but just recently I began trying my hand at gardening and haven't done a very good job, a few tomatoes some cucumbers and maybe some squash, I so want to do more! and my goal is to raise our own pork. I would love to get me an American Guinea hog to feed out and butcher. I have a few chickens and a duck. Want a guard goose and turkeys too. Good job and nice video gr8 sound and content. My desire is to have some content too one day. You guys have such a sweet spirit about you both. I will enjoy following your channel. I bless you.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad to have you following along with us 😊😊
Looking great. Still hope to see in person soon
I know!! I hope you can at some point :)
We have a ton of wild blackberries too. They are soooo good on vanilla ice cream.
Yes, they go great with dessert 😄
Heaven
Beautiful farm
Thank you!
Aww, is so cute!
Love your homestead! So beautiful and you guys seem very happy. :)
Quick note, leaving the halters on the horses while they are in the pasture can be deadly, many horses get the halters caught on something while scratching and can suffocate in 3 minutes. Your babies seem very friendly (because you treat them well I can see!! :) ) So you shouldn't have the common silly excuse people have that they "can't catch their horse". Blessings!!
Basil...the star of the show! LOL!
Totally! She was everywhere. Such a little social butterfly 💛
Also, I legitimately prayed for your artichoke babies last night 🙈🙈😍😍
Thank you friend!!
When I move we are going to get a farm and we are going to get horses probably a lot of farm life
Lol I love the name hazel
I want to start an urban farm here on the West Coast.
Wish I lived in murica
I wish I could live there, I would give anything to live there😭
One day your dreams will come true! Keep on working hard!!
Dang you would give 1million to a charity that kills kids your fucked up
@@modular1479 what?
Lots of times
Those purple flippflops your wearing, here in Sweden we call those "Foppa tofflor" also subbed
How fun! Thanks for sharing. Welcome!!
What are those blooming trees called?
Cat takes 2 steps... "omg you're so funny"
What do you guys do with the animals when it snows ?
They’re perfectly fine in the snow! They grow thicker coats/more feathers, and adjust so well! They actually have a harder time in heat than the cold
"i started in the very front and i finished in the very back" don't we all.
Do you know the type of flowering tree that you were enjoying at the 3:40 mark in your video ? The blossoms sort of, remind me of, what I have heard referred to as, a "Mountain Laurel".
We think they may be dogwood, but we’re not entirely sure...still learning to identify trees well!
I really love your farm but im wondering what song did you used? before you introduce yourself.
Unnamed lol! I wrote it a while ago and recorded it on my cell phone to put in this video.
@@SunshineFarm ahhh ok i really like it it has a cowboy/girl vibes (southern vibes) and if your the one who sing it you really have a nice voice.
Thank you!! 💛
You've got a nice piece of land waiting for you to be dressed
I think your animals just love stealing the show XD
Especially Basil!! 🤣
Will you be growing persimmons, pomegranates, or pawpaw?
Pomegranates might be hard, maybe overwintering them in a greenhouse! We WILL be adding persimmons, pecans, apricots, paw paw, grapes, and more in the next couple of years 😊🌱
@@SunshineFarm That sounds lovely!
Its beautiful. how many acres is it?
We are on 12.5 acres
Curious to know what is your growing Zone?
We are in zone 6a, although this year has been a very late spring!!
YOU GUYS TAKE THE EGGS ?
We take them and primarily feed them back to the hens, I’ve talked about this more in recent videos 😊 it’s changed over the years.
I wish I could walk freely through my property, but I always have to carry a shovel or something to keep copperheads and water moccasin away from me 😣
Oh goodness!! That sounds slightly terrifying. Are they everywhere??
@@SunshineFarm pretty much! Haha! We are surrounded by pine Forest that will never be developed. We have lots of good snakes too, and lately I've seen more of them that anything which is definitely good. However the pond is very close to my garden beds and that water moccasin is no joke!
How many acres do you have?
12.5 🙂
Add the video with english subtitle next time...from india
beautiful farm !! what state is this in ?
When i grow up i wanna have a non cruelty farm, bcs i hate being cruel to animals
all that land but no dogs? so much space, you could rescue a dog. :s at least one dog!
We have two!
