Yeah,She's the best at keepin a straight serious Joan Face all the way to the end of the skit. Harvey & T. Conway on Burnets comedy show couldn't hav done it b4 completely losing it to over the top laugher!
Dan is awesome in this sketch, yes, but Jane is freaking killing it. She does the "upset mother" bit so dang well, and nails those lines. These two were such pros. :)
I miss the days when I used to get black coffee and cigarettes in the school lunchroom. One time I was able to run home from school in 11 minutes. That 6 miles went by in a flash.
Dan & Jan were always brilliant together. I used to love every time they were paired up. Just like I loved when Bill & Gilda were together. Iconic pairs.
I think he also promoted something like punk rock Barbie, who has a switchblade. He says to Jane, 'ok, sure, sometimes Ken got cut'. Lmao. Aykroyd was freakin hilarious playing these sleezey entrepreneurs. And Jane as the advocate, brilliant.
This is great! Dan Akyroyd and Jane Curtin are so funny in this sketch. They are what was one of the best of all of comics they had on SNL. The years with Dana Carver, Eddie Murphy, and Joe Piscapo were great too. The ones today just don’t add up. I don’t watch them anymore. 😀😀😉😉
The cast is good these days! A lot of young, enjoyable talent. But the writing is atrocious. I am not referring to anything 'political' or whatever. I am referring to the craft of writing. Sly cleverness seems to be lacking. It's a shame when good talent is squandered.
Sugar actually slows down kids. It causes a burst of insulin. Blood sugar drops until it is actually below the starting level. Then it rises back to normal levels. All within 10 minutes.
Nothing wrong with dog's milk. Full of vitamins. Full of goodness. Full of marrowbone jelly! Of course the best thing about Dog's milk? When it goes off it tastes the same as when it's fresh! Lasts longer than any other kind of milk.....'cause no bugger'll drink it!
I have to wonder if GWAR pulled a bit of their character (self proclaimed entrepreneur extraordinaire) Sleazy P. Martini's mannerisms from Irwin Mainway!
Such a perfect duo. Nobody did the news anchor/investigative reporter personality better than Jane. And Dan, genius performance every time. Miss this era.
I thought those students were getting a great deal! A relatively low milk yield mammal such as the dog should have valuable milk when you think of it… after all, donkey milk and donkey cheese is some of the most valuable lactose. Marketing is the problem…
@Sara Crewe Night Cap didn't disagree with the Trump joke, & then pulled a classic SNL & was inclusive - No One Is Above Mocking. Unless you are a humour detractor.
heck, I've heard people tell that back in the 1970s when high school students went to the roof or where ever to have a smoke there would be teachers there. . .doing the exact same thing. Students with pickups would have a gun rack. . .and gun on a back window. Have a switchblade? Just keep it in your locker or your pockets. . .there was a reason why there were no school shootings or anything like that back then.
Chalk in ravioli. True story- years ago a maker of cheap ubrellas went out of business. They had a large stock of yellow umbrella handles left. One if the underworld owned pizza chains bought them for almost nothing and ground them up and mixed them in their cheese to cut cost drastically and up their profit margin. Pizza a little chewyer than usual? Mabe it's the umbrella handles. 😊😅😂
museack 😂 You don’t even know what socialism is. Enjoy your utopia. That shit only worked for white middle class people and up, everyone else was super Capitalist and at work. Lol
Jane and Dan we're so good together. How she kept a straight face for so many of the sketches she did I'll never know but thank you for the laughs

That low-key "I doubt that" was so good.
Joan Face.
@Senator Keyrock I'm French and British so... make of that what you wish.

For a second I was like oh wow she really is mad about this.
Joan Face: I Don't know who actually milks the Dogs,But...? Lmao!!! CLASSIC'SNL-NR4PTP's When Snl was Crazy Comical !!!

The best ❤🎉
Dan Aykroyd could play such an amazing slimeball back in the day.
Lol oh yes he did 😆
Are we sure he wasn't one?
@@danamardell1209 Yes, you troll.
Trading places is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen!
he still can
Jane's indignation equals Dan's pretended ignorance, these sketches were gold!
Aykroyd and Curtain were absolute genius together. 🎭 🎬 📽 👌
They both nailed it.
Aykroyd & Curtain were great paired up in those early SNL sketches.
Dan plays such a great sleaze.
And that guy who had the obscure cable access show. Interviewing topless dancers, who were appearing at the 'coach and pole lounge'. Lol.

Doctor Detroit - I think that in that film he played a pimp; like the premise for the Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler comedy in "Night Shift."

And his Human Torch costume for Halloween, which as Jane points out, consists of nothing but a bunch of oily rags and a lighter!
Invisible pedestrian costume for Halloween!

It's Jane not Jan
thats the kind of mustache that would make me cross to the other roadside...
there's a reason they call it a "molestache"
Don’t forget the Bag O’ Glass
Since this aired in '78, it was just a few years later in '81 under Reagan that ketchup being considered a vegetable for school lunches hit the news.
Irwin Mainway was one of my favorite characters of Dan Ackroyd on SNL, along with Leonard Pith-Garnell.
Is this the same guy that sells the toy “bag o’glass”?
yes
And the human torch halloween costume, yes.

Those were the good ole days for SNL! With that incredible cast! Gems!

Dogs are mammals lol. Great line 😊
These are some of my top SNL Bits of all time. HILARIOUS!!
SNL had their heyday with these guys
Insects & dog milk? High protein/low fat. And at least it's a mammal.
It's a very interesting process, let me tell you.
@museack You've obviously never seen "Red Dwarf."
plus of course the advantage of dog's milk is that when it goes off, it tastes exactly the same as when it's fresh.

Great.
Brilliant. He could do any accent.
Irwin Mainway is one of the top SNL characters of all time
Dog milk lasts longer than another kind of milk!
Why is that you ask?
Coz nobody will drink it!

lol a Red Dwarf reference -- very nice!

Irwin Mainway 😂🤣😂
I bet every Tom, Dick and Howard has fantasized about eating pure starch with a cocoa-wich for dessert
Dan is so greasy in this skit. I love it.
$2.78 after inflation is about $13, for perspective
Dan turned Italian at the end there. :-D
'Irwin Greasy' or 'Irwin Hustle' woulda fit with 'Dr.'
Heh! Heh!
He IS a doctor! Dr Detroit!
"Pureed insects" actually seems like a good source of protein, Ms. Face.
Michael Avenatti's first tv appearance.
Samuel Gompers elementary school -- that sounds about right. You know what I'm saying.
Wish Jane and Dan were around to do a skit like this about the state of our public schools today 😢
Both are alive and active.
The clothes of Jane Curtin reminds me on my mother in the late 70s.

That's when SNL was it's best
I love Irving Maiway- I remember him for the Halloween costume safety epidode

Every season at SNL
Johnny Human Torch. There is so much SNL that is still unavailable.
