  • Finally got a facia up on the north side of the layout. Also started on a little hill to divide up the industries.

The hill and its companion on the other side of the track do a really nice job of separating that spur from the rest of the line, and making it feel like a much bigger layout.

That guy in the Mini sure gets all over L.A. He must be one of them there Uber drivers. HAW-HAW! (Southern Guf-faw.)
Seriously, I just love your layout. I would love to have the space to clone it, but with changed scenery depecting "Pre-Disney" Central Florida. Also, while I like tunnel motor "snoots", I would reckon that patched Athearn Genisis SP Geep is my absolute favorite. Thank you for sharing this with the world. It is great.

Great update. The backdrop looks good with the distant mountains. It is always good to disable the DC option in the decoder if you are not using it. For my streets I used .060 styrene and it worked really well, I also used it for the grade crossings. -Tom

Interesting comment to disable the DC. If you forget to reenable it and put it on a DC layout will you damage the Decoder?

@@HumancityJunction If you check Tony's Train Xchange website where they have some questions and answers, you'll see that they recommend to turn off the DC function on a DCC decoder if you are not operating on a DC layout, but you must turn it back on if you do. They don't state if you will damage the decoder or not, but that is a good question to ask them. I don't believe it will cause any issues, but I don't know for sure and would not want to fry a decoder finding out. Turning off the DC function prevents a run away locomotive situation. Here is a link to the Tony's Q&A section on this topic.

Is it called ice plant? You see it every where down there. You should find an Orange county sign you like take a picture of it. Save to your computer , print it out, Cut it out, glue to post and there you go.

Nice update...like the backdrop with distant mountains...that slight elevation change breaks up the area nicely....have you tried using the 1/8 foam board or foam (Silly Willy) sheets for roads? Anthony

I think I bought them off of Ebay awhile ago. Just painted them a bit so they don't have that plastic look.
