  • Rescued '71 Metro out of service since the 1980's... + @ 5:35 IH all engine options tech info!!! + @ 12:42 back to future w/ the MA1200 's aluminum body off the 1200 C p/u truck chassis! (ready for reassembly Here is my 65-75 international metro step van before restoration as it was flipped to me and limped home after 30+ years of barn storage....
Lil history, rundown, and what they are exactly! (D, then A, then B up to 65, then c up through 68 pick up truck chassis was used up till 72 on metros even though they had the new d series as their final and last p/u made up till 75)
    ahh 2 whom it may...
I left out the shot of the spare tire carrier through the bumper and look like a goof for 20 seconds in what i thought was a voice over shot Ha!
Also the styrofoam under the floor and wheel wells was covering the mount holes and the wheel well hole so I do know it was second owner, had a brain fart......
As well it was bumped, half ass repaired earl sheib painted and sold to a furnature company, then they bumped it bad and diamond the frame with a slight bow, thats why it sat as was with the hand painted sign still in tact, all original, in a barn of some ih collection.
    AND & AND I do a 59-85 IH engines rundown / guide!!!!! #stepvan #ih #international #metro #vanlife #nomad #camper #campervan www.bedhed.xyz

My father worked for International Harvester. Nothing left the factory with wood so it must be either dealer or the original owner.

yeah, i can tell some kids at the dealer installed the wood on the sides because they overlapped rivets on the crooked supports lmao... Im pretty sure the headliner was factory though... I do know that the final metros where finished in fortwayne when metro went on strike, so up through 71 they where leftover 68's , then i do believe they started slapping them on the d series frames... guess stepvan sales dropped across the board for that time and yeah, well took three years to sell the 68's lol

What engine does it have. ? Or what is it compatible with? I have one and want to swap the transmission

i have the 304, it could have come with the straight 6 or the 4cyl that is half of the v8,
so any ih transmission of the era will bolt right up!
i do not know if the 345 or the 392 will fit, their the same basic casting but taller... but the bigger engine would stull be on the same smaller radaitor, and especially the 392 aint gonna like being in yhe lil doghouse...
but they had a three on the tree or a 4 on the floor, or a 727 automatic...

@@TEN-TIMES-HARDER no way man!!!! If you lived out this way…(los Angeles)I’d totally have you fix up my rig. I bought it a year ago but the wire harness is all cut up and I don’t know much about car, just a bit to get by. So I don’t know where to start so it’s been sitting. Ha. But I’ll check out the video and see what gold nuggets I can find. Also you mentioned about the wheels are different… so I gotta change out the hubs to get modern wheels on it right?

@@0102lazo Yes you can swap hubs, drums, all that will swap right over to the 8 lug 16" rims from any c or d truck up to 1975, I will make a couple extra wire harnesses when I make mine next month or two, If you cant wait, painless wire harnesses, are a bit pricey, but every wire will be printed down the whole wire, left turn signal every foot, brake light every foot...... comes with everything you need.
