I have never seen a single clip for this game. I do like the main area being the mall, something about things being confined in a game like this i enjoy. I like the cheeky little kill counter in the bottom left reminds me of good ol Blood Brothers. Solid ranking. Getting in the top 40 has become an accomplishment (maybe even top 50).
Small correction the police zombies existed in the original game and dropped guns and night sticks just like the remake the only "new" feature to them is that they can actually fire their guns it was originally a scrapped mechanic from the beta version of dr1 that eventually made it's way into dead rising 3 when it released
I love games that stick to one setting, and love the look of the shopping mall not being too dilapidated as you said. The time mechanic of needing to be at certain places at specific times reminds me very much of Zelda: Majora's Mask in an interesting way. And to Joe's point about modern games at the end, I recently watched a developer talking about their game as they streamed it, discussing how they couldn't imagine releasing something and not being able to patch it. The ease of patching games online through updates now can't be understated. I hope the ending of Dead Rising gets fixed!
I gotta agree with Joe with being able to cheese the boss fights. Although i have played the original A LOT of times, so i have fought each boss many times. I do wish they made at least some of the bosses harder. As i'd look forward to seeing a boss in the remaster. Just to win the fight in less than 30 seconds.
I remember you mentioning it in an episode a few months ago, you should definitely check out the game Darkwood, would love to hear your opinions on the atmosphere and gameplay
Hi guys I would like to recommend the game firewatch for the podcast it's a short lovable game with a very interesting story and it's on game pass! Hope you chose it!
I want to say for the bosses, I think the fact that you can find ways to cheese feeds into the games want for you to experiment with things. Like watching my brother fight the clown and what he decided what the game plan was compared to what I do in the clown fight is very entertaining. I pop the balloons then whack him a few times rinse and repeat and he killed him in a minute with 2 cash registers and a bowling ball. I still think a lot of the boss fights are really bad, but the cheese factor just allows players to get really innovative with their approach to it.
Always enjoyed Dead Rising 2, but really hated the time pressure or trying to keep survivors alive. I loved just absolutely messing around in these games. I might give this one a go someday, just seems too stressful for me. Maybe with this new autosave might make it tolerable, for me

i think joe's giant mario statue would be the perfect weapon in a zombie apocalypse

So, there's a 3Souls, 6Souls, and Nine Sols, all made by separate companies, all of which I learned about years after the other.
