I can just imagine being a pirate, a ship finally comes to the fake distress beacon I set, and before I can even hail them they jump away. What kind of ftl drive are they packing?
It's awesome. Some hacker made this application called libTAS, which inserts a bunch of library shims to give some Linux games support for save states and such.
Holy shit. I'm assuming that it's either a TAS of a predetermined seed, or that this is a TAS that reads the generated world and determines the fastest, safest route to get good fuel, weapons, and speed to the exit. That's cool. That was kinda crazy.
Couldn't you have killed the Flagship on phase 3 even more quickly if you'd kept the second Flak II you picked up? You could use the pre-igniter exploit to have both flaks and hull beams activate once you jump to the beacon. You get 14 projectiles in one volley, which would likely strip away the entire Zoltan shield. If you're lucky, it would even strip away the normal shields, granting the ability to deal damage with your hull beams. If you're not as lucky, it at least likely removes the need for a second volley to finish off the Zoltan shield.
First, I didn't loose time because of TAS timing (finished at the beginning of the fight). Also, I couldn't use pre-igniter exploit because I need one flak to be fully charged before jumping
The entire layout of a sector is generated when entering it, except for shop content. Rng advances continuously (about 20 values per 15 frames + manning), so that the next sector layout can be manipulated by waiting or moving crew around
Turn on subtitles. RNG was manipulated by setting system time, and a lot of battles are optional, you can choose not to fight (you typically get more scrap for fighting though)
There's only so much RNG manipulation you can do, at some point your degrees of freedom are restricted to the point where the probability you dodge every shot is extremely low
Is there an AI speed run where the AI wasn't able to see things we wouldn't normally be able to see, cause there's no way they could have gotten to sector 8 with encountering a single fight

Could this be faster using a ship with a stronger start? One with more power in weapons, or a stronger starting weapon? i.e. same seed with stealth B.
they are using a weapon glitch to kill the ship, not sure it matters

If it's TAS, couldn't you just dodge every shot that comes your way if your evasion is greater than 0%?
