Hi Dennis - that is awesome you got a Taylor GS5 - such a killer guitar - I love mine as I have had it for many years, love the cedar top - so warm sounding. Enjoy ur new guitar and let me know how u like it. As far as strings for the acoustic I use Medium gauge Martin strings. Nothing fancy, they just work for me. Since 2016 I realised to learn guitar the need is to get good guitar first with low action and no fret buzz as well no intonation problem and tuning stability which I never got . Then step by step guitar lessons as well music theory. The progress is very limited with free UA-cam lessons and people get stuck in the same position for long and after that they stopped playing it. I want to learn and it's my dream to play like John Frusciante , Kurt Cobain, SRV , Noodles/ Kevin John Wasserman, Deryck Whibley and Billy Joe Armstrong. I like funk and Punk rock with some grunge sound and out of these guitar players I want to discover myself and develop my own style. With very limited resources it's almost impossible for me to progress. I got Blackstar ID core V2 40 Watt amp and Cort G250 guitar . I'm happy with amp even I don't have any effect pedals but I'm unhappy with my guitar after playing few chords its gets out of tune and I have cheap acoustic guitar brand name Bronz with high action and fret buzz at the same time. It's build quality is good but action sucks . I don't know what to do and I'm your subscriber since this channel known as next level guitar. I want step by step guitar lessons if i get a guitar with perfect action. At guitar shop 4 years ago I found Ibanez RG350MZ it's the best guitar I ever played in my life till today. But that time I don't have money to buy it . That guitar was amazing and not much expensive now in my place every guitar is so expensive. I need to find a guitar which with perfect action with no issues. I explained everything I think which a common person suffers while learning guitar.
