The LL body shapes are a mix between a typical dread and a jumbo. The LL6 has laminated back and sides, the LL16 is all solid but mass produced, the LL26 is handmade by a group of luthiers in Yamaha's custom shop, the LL36 is the same but with abalone, and the LL56 is handmade by a single master luthier.
I have and love my LS16, which is the smaller body, I’m going to get an LL16 (dred) and an LJ16 (jumbo). They best guitars out there for the money, imo.
Your customers are going to be thrilled with the Yamaha acoustics.
Woo-hoo, go Yamaha! Yammies are great :)
The FG-TA has a laminate back and sides. The great thing about the method uses on the laminate process on their acoustics is that they use us 3 strips of solid wood in the construction.
Hey John, want me to bring my LL56 by the store so you can compare it to the FG9R?
Ive just received my Yamaha LL16 two days ago! Perfect timing 💯
I purchased that Yamaha LL 16 and I love it!
You will not be sorry you picked up Yamaha Guitars. These are amazingly crafted guitars. The attention to detail is on point. I have an FG830 and LL6M ARE that are so good.
I love my FGX3. It's a lot like a D18, for 1/3 the price. A little quieter than many dreads, but that's okay, it's great for late at night when you're trying to let the family sleep.
I got a cheaper Yamaha to fly with, and it sounds great. I love the scale length.
Ooo that country boy is nice John
FG-TA is laminated. It's basically an FG820 (laminated mahogany) with the transacoustic electronics.
It's a better quality laminate guitar than that. It is laminate, but it's definitely a better quality guitar, especially on the fret work
I do like Yamaha, Looking forward to see how they do in the shop.
I got the yamaha a1m, its awesome
Brian May has used Custom LL acoustics for years
The LL16 is a great sounding guitar. I'm thrilled that you feel the FG9 is quite a bit better! Can't wait to play one :)
Sounds great but I do wish they would give you a no pickguard option.
But my understanding is that for $679 the FG-TA is laminate back & sides. It's basically an FG-820 + the TA system. However the LL-TA is all-solid for sure.
I haven't checked the specs but I believe you are correct given my shopping experience.
Bill didn't quite get the mandolin in tune, either, John
True! 😅
Yamaha's customer service sucks these days. I have a LL-16.....very trebly...terrible piezio pickup...I've tried everything and am still fighting to get it to sound good live.
Is Yamaha ad addition to the shop or is it replacing another brand? Did they purchase Guild?
Thanks John for replying to my comment below. Do a review on the Yamaha LS-TA TransAcoustic really excellent guitar BUT do your homework first so your reviewing will help possible customers & avoid reviewing banjos just leave it to Aaron next time. Raspberries !!
Best mandolins...
Funny you have no clue on Yamaha line-up.
We're learning 😅
Hey you need to be better prepared & know the products you're selling.........sorry...raspberry !
We acknowledged this many times in the video and we are very excited to dive into Yamaha guitars.
