- Skoda Rapid is a tried and tested sedan for years. Earlier it had 1.6 MPi engine but now it has come up with 1.0 TSi, 110 PS BS6 engine with a base model price of Rs just 7.50 lacs
It comes with all basic features like:
- 2 Airbags
- ABS, ESC
- Rear parking sensors
- All Power Windows with one touch down
- Anti pinch power windows
- Driver control Power Windows
- Rear AC Vent
- Automatic Climate Control
- 2 DIN music system with 4 speakers
- Rear Armrest
- Remote Key
- Steering reach and rack adjustment
- 15" tyres with wheel covers
It gives Skoda Rapid an advantage over other compact sedans like Dzire, Amaze, Aura and Xcent. Rapid is a proper sized sedan which has a better boot and rear passenger space.
1.0 TSi engines claims the mileage of 19 kmpl so we can assume that it will provide around 15-17 kmpl in real use conditions. Skoda Rapid has better build quality and safety assurance as compared to the competition. There is no visible cost cutting anywhere, plastics feel good, doors feel heavy and overall car feels solid like a TANK.
Service interval is 15000 kms and annual service cost will be around Rs 9000-10000
It is highly recommended that Skoda cars should be serviced from authorized dealers only because Skoda/VW cars are highly engineered and for outside mechanics it is little hard to manage the service job perfectly. Only trained professionals can service/repair VW/Skoda cars.

But these automobile journalists (including Faisal Khan) force people to avoid the Rapid Rider because it is outdated. I know that it is outdated but at that price, the build and interior quality, space, comfort, performance and handing at that price point us unbeatable. It is a stellar package at a cost. But those stupid journalists (including Faisal Khan) just recommend them tin cans instead of sturdy and safe. One guy asked Faisal Khan whether he should buy the Tiago or the Grand i10 Nios? He directly told him to go for the i10 as the Tiago is okay. What nonsense? How can he say that rubbish? The i10 scored only 2 stars in G-NCAP but the Tiago, even though it is cheaper, got 4 stars in G-NCAP crash test. Safety and build quality and safe driving manners are extremely important irrespective of the price and size. But Faisal Khan and other journalists recommending tin cans over sturdy and safe tanks. It is unacceptable. Screw them for this bullshit. All these automobile journalists in India are unreliable. Only teambhp, Matt Watson(carwow) and Doug Demuro are phenomenal. Rest all in India are horrible. Luckily you have not believed these journalists while buying a new car and you started exposing them especially Motoroctane who forced people to avoid the Polo. Don't believe others and some of these journalists while buying a car. Exploring is the best way to buy a car. Many people bashed you for buying the T-ROC over the Seltos as the T-ROC is overpriced for what it offers. Even Faisal Khan too screamed like that and forced people to avoid the T-ROC and the Karoq. Now many people will realize why did you buy the T-ROC over the Seltos. Today someone asked Faisal Khan whether he should buy the Karoq or the new Mercedes-Benz GLA. He forced him to wait for the new GLA as he says that the Karoq is overpriced. But the truth is that the GLA is too overpriced for what it offers. The new GLA looks like the Tata Nexon. It is too small whereas the Karoq is much bigger than the new GLA . You can check it out in the internet through Matt Watson's review (carwow). He clearly mentioned that the new GLA is very small. I have never believed that Faisal has been like this. Screw him and other journalists for recommending shit cars.

My dad was about to buy the City back in December 2018. But he bought the Rapid Onyx diesel manual as it had massive discounts. It was a brilliant upgrade from my old Ford Ikon 1.3 Flair. Even though the City was spacious, fun to drive and had a brilliant VTEC petrol engine, in terms of build quality, interior quality and fit and finish, it was not as good the Rapid which was launched 9 years back. The Rapid is really a sturdy car. This is what a car should be. Cars aren't about features at all. They are meant for driving comfortably and offer brilliant safety. I am very happy with my car.
Faisal khan is utterly stupid, my advice is to completely avoid his content, he has absolutely no knowledge of this industry and just reads the manual in the name of car review.

Many people asked him to review the Rapid Rider but he said that the Rapid is horrible and dated so why should he review it then? I myself own the Rapid and the experience is brilliant so far. The Rapid Rider offers almost old Audi and BMW like quality with good space, turbo petrol and big boot just at 8 lakh rupees. Which sedan will such things for little? He just exaggerates and nothing else. He says that he hates petrol and loves diesel but when it comes to Mini Cooper JCW and Honda i-VTEC engines, he does not say anything about it. He reviews are becoming terrible. He said in his vlog that he does not like the A8 and says some stupid things about it. He says that the A8 is similar to Passat. What the hell is this? The A8 is not similar to the Passat at all. Many people in his vlog said that the A8 is waste and the S class and the 7 series are far better. In terms of rear seat comfort, the S is best no doubt but the A8L is far better than the other 2 as far as interior, features and technologies go. The 7 series lacks the character of BMW cars and does not feel special at all. But he promotes that it is fun to drive. But when it comes to the overpriced Q2, he blindly promotes it and says that everyone should say good comments about it. What is this? Instead of promoting the wonderful A8L, he is promoting the overpriced Q2 instead. Seriously Faisal Khan is a junk nowadays. He recommends the 2 star rated i10 nios over the 4 star rated Tiago. I don't know how did he get 1 million subscribers.

You would fall in love with its classical, timeless design and sporty peppy engine every single day.
If you say design of Rapid as outdated- well, we are not discussing further.
Regarding, engine and its power- be ready to experience amazing pickup and torque even at lower RPM.
That “thud sound” makes you feel you are safe in the cabin.
The silent engine makes the ride worthy. Fuel efficiency wise it’s much better than its predecessors ( of course with a smaller yet powerful engine) .
Just 3 things could have been added for some 50-60K incremental value to make the proposition even more attractive: Reverse parking camera, Hill hold control and the fog lamps.

rumour comes that skoda rapid comes in automatic is it right ?? Because at this time i want an dsg but i know for cross cutting Skoda introduce automatic transmission. Should i go for manual or automatic because I'm first time car owner and i want a car for around 10-11 years in future so after watching your video i finally decided to take Skoda rider. But I'm confused because skoda stop delivery and they introduce new version which is skoda rapid rider plus.

Sir, You solved my dilemma once for all. In Nepal, even Rapid Rider costs around 22 lakhs in INR due to taxes. I always wanted to buy a sedan but was unable to stretch my budget. But now I have a perfect car with no compromise on safety and standard.

Anyone tempted by the low price of the RAPID go search ownership stories of maintenance and poor service network and high service costs, and history of failed parts(Fuel injectors, ABS sensors, brake pads). It is a wonderful car to drive no doubt, but SKODA reliability is not good.

Bhai..get the facts right...the current engine comes with 3 cylinder 1 liter engine with Turbo boost...they have high maintenance and less life
Now coming to advertisement of Godrej and urban ladder...many of them use compressed wood or MDF..
Fot you it seems outside looks matter...inside engine or wood material does not matter
TSI Engines are successful for years in upper end cars like Passat/Octavia so it is a myth
Godrej/Urban Ladder stuff though is mdf but definitely lasts years if maintained well whereas in carpenter's case, we are on the mercy of their workmanship which eventually is bad in most of the cases. This is India afterall and workers have the habit of doing of shoddy job no matter how good Material you provide. Atleast, branded furniture provide warranty.

Prefer a Petrol Honda City 3rd or 4th generation please as a 3rd option. Otherwise get a petrol Vento or Rapid.

I strongly recommend not to buy a bs4 diesel car now, it will have all sort of problems with bs6 fuel. But if you want, do check service history & insurance history. If it is highline model with around 70,000 kms then should be around 3.80-400
