Are you planning to buy Volkswagen Polo , Vento or Skoda rapid in 2020 ?
In this video i have mentioned all the problems that are faced by volkswagen and skoda owners.The Volkswagen polo was First launched in India in 2010, the Volkswagen Polo is more than a generation old, but it has been in a constant state of evolution.The 2020 Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI that gets the most powerful engine in its segment.However its rivals like Hyundai i20 2020 and Tata altroz turbo 2020 are also going to launch this year, but the handling, stability and build quality which volkswagen polo offers you is on another level.Compared to the previous 1.2 TSI rated at 105hp, the new 1.0 makes 110hp. And despite its smaller capacity, it makes an identical 175nm of torque.It gets a 6-speed manual gearbox for the first time, to strengthen driver appeal. What is missing though - apart from a diesel option - is VW's quick-shifting 7-speed DSG or twin-clutch automatic.The new engine in skoda rapid 2020 is shared with the Polo and Vento TSI from sister (and rival) brand VW, has an impressive spec sheet. It produces a strong 110hp and 175Nm of torque, which is a 5hp and 22Nm bump up over the previous 1.6-litre. A new 6-speed manual replaces the old 5-speed unit but those looking for an automatic variant will have to wait until September for the new 6-speed torque converter auto.

I own a Polo GT which is my first VW car and I'm coming from Hyundai... And I'm so happy with this vehicle. As you said, it has its cons but the performance on road just puts a smile on my face. And then that rock solid build quality and the guage thickness of the metal panels is really good and feels strong. Maruti will make 2 cars with the same amount of metal...

Polo GT is good car but only few people take risk of Skoda ownership in this country because of their lack of service network. I think Maruti is best option to invest in a good car without any unnecessary troubles like Skoda.
Atleast VW should reduce the maintenance cost, we buy cars taking many factors into consideration. Now I don't want to buy altroz so unfortunately I have to switch to Nexon
VW should start thinking about maintenance and spare cost, that will attract more and more buyers. because their ownership is really esteemed

i use vw polo tdi from past 8 year . amazing car . even service has improved allot .i did around 2lakh80thousand km till now .
only rear shocks , drum liner and brake pads are changed . no other part is changed

Exactly bro. I have polo from last 7 years and I don't want to change unless I have another vw.
I had a Skoda Yeti Elegance 4x4 for 8 full years and more. Never any problem with that vehicle. Once the dashboard backlit LED became faded and got replaced under warranty. The fuel gauge once malfunctioned and got replaced under warranty. The original Haldex Clutch system hadn’t even worn down when I sold the car last year. It was still in top shape. And I only sold it because I wanted an Automatic.
It is all about how you drive the vehicle and how you use it and maintain it. Preventive maintenance is essential. And you cannot skimp on spending in a timely manner.
The Skoda vehicles are some of the toughest, best engineered, extremely safe, durable, utilitarian and comfortable vehicles around. After all they built tanks and armoured vehicles out there in the Czech Republic. The Yeti was far ahead of its time for India when launched in 2010.
I am merely sharing my experience as above.
Sadly,these vehicles are under appreciated and under valued in India because here the majority prefers gizmos and electronics and other such things rather than solidity of build and safety.
This is why the current crop of tin boxes from SE Asia Korea and China are going well here in India.
I totally agree. We as consumers have to appreciate engineering, which we do not.
We only appreciate those things when we are in deep trouble. Skoda is actually a tank. No doubt. Ride experience is also unmatched.
Hope someday we as consumers will understand the value of investment before hitting losses

I have a Skoda Rapid, just last month i experienced ABS problem. All 4 sensors had to be replaced and it costed me 14000. On the service day i noticed that many others were reporting the same problem. My friend has 'Polo' which is hardly over 1 year old and just yesterday he took it to service centre for ABS light problem. Since its under warranty, he is been told that it will take 3 days to fix. As rightly told by you, ABS is a common problem. My last service cost was whopping Rs.40000.

I am driving Alto 800 since 7 and half year drove 53182 km as of today. No spare part replaced till now. Even I am using tyres which came with car. I am doing tyre rotation, wheel alignment and wheel balancing after every 10K kms.
Maintainance cost approx Rs 5k/year from authorised service . For me it doesn't matter whether 15K or 10k as I am doing less than 10K per year.
What good a good built quality whose parts are replaced more often.
Alto is good to buy daily vegetables from the market .... 😭😭😭

@@enayatzaman9969 No car is safe. Not even Mercedes. The more powerful the car is the more is the tendency to run on higher speed. Testing agencies test near to 65kmph. In Top cars with 5 star rating they run at 140 above on Expressways. If it hits then result will same as in alto at 100.
Rating agencies can not set same rating standards for all.
By the ways maruti brezza and Ciaz also had 4 star rating cars. No one is pushing to buy alto. Car should be reliable and have less breakdown which maruti provides.

I own a vento tsi since 2014. Done 81k kms so far. Car is so good on performance its very difficult finding a replacement at this price point.
You are right. I had replaced 6 abs sensors so far. Cost around 4.5-5k per sensor at authorized service center.
Now the infamous steering column sound is also there. Needs replacement. Estimate given is 14k.
After a long time i came through such a non bullshit informative content ❤️
Unbiased opinion. Really liked it. A lot of car enthusiasts who are VW owners are fanboys and don't want to listen anything negative about the company let alone doing a review on the cons.
Same with Tata and Mahindra , but we usually don’t accept an opinion or input in general until we have encounter the problem ourselves .
Best practical review. I am using polo petrol 2013 and do agree with each point mentioned in the review. Even if I plan for a change than obviously it will be VW or Skoda.

I faced the ABS issue two years back. I was lucky that warranty took care of it.
I own a VW Vento Diesel Highline from last 4 years. 61,ooo km completed. Fully satisfied with the car. It gives driving pleasure. Strong built quality. Amazing performance.

How is the Volkswagen Ameo petrol 1.2 2016 model as a used car?

Because this car was really affordable when it was launched . Under 6 to 8lakhs on road . I know most people would say that it's underpowered and all but I feel that it's perfect for majority of city and occasional highway drives . I also know that the legroom is lesser than the competition but people in family are under 5ft 10in so it would not affect them as such . I know it is much more comfortable and feature equipped as compared to polo . And it is fuel efficient compared to the other petrol cars of vw and Skoda . So please give me some advice on this 🙏.
Why does abs sensor problem keep coming all the time.. why no permanent solution.. I have changed 4 sensors altogether during my 30000 km run. It covered for free by extended warranty I took.. apart from that I had no complaints so far for my ameo dsg..

Dear main repid chala raha hoon last 7 yrs se, mujhe ab problem aayee gai EGR cooler kharab ho gaya hai, agar aap kahin se arrange ho sakta hai, bata de to meherbani hogi. Vaise chal rahi hai without problem.

Iam also owner of skoda rapid n there is a problem about stearing. When I am above of 140kmph n I apply brake there is vibration in stearing and stearing ball.
i had the polo and we faced the steering column issue but never repaired it due to costs n sold the car after 5 years! service in Mumbai was OK but guys always pushed for unnecessary expenses and we had to argue n get costs reduced! also mileage of my manual polo was giving 5-6 kmpl in city traffic which is why we sold it, other than that loved driving the car it was like a mini BMW !
I have VW Polo Comfortline Petrol. 2011 model. My experience is: PROS: Excellent drivability, dependability and comfort of the car. Pride of owning a premium brand. CONS: Gearbox slotting issues, inflated maintenance and spare parts costs and a habit of misinformation by personnel of authorised VW service centre, plus lack of critical spare parts. Luckily I have found a good third party service centre to look after my Polo. I'm still a proud owner after 10 years and 100,000 kms.
Having Stiff suspension in German cars is not a problem its their trademark manufacture design secondly keeping throttle clean is consumers duty to keep checking engine periodically use better oil u barely face that issue for 3-4 years i m using skoda from last ten years and i owned both rapid and superb and have no issues

Using a Polo TDI 1.2 Highline from 2013. Overall good experience. Done 1,12,000 km.
Had to replaced faulty fuel pump after 3 years ( 18,000 rs )
AC center actuators 6,000rs. Part cost is 1500 replacement cost about 4500 as dashboard needs to be removed for the part replacement. This is at 5th-6th year.
Other than this normal wear and tear like frount tyres after 60k km about 10,000rs. And another set of tyres after 90k km costing 10,000rs.
Break pads of frount disk brakes about 4,000rs.
Replaced frount shock absorbers as it right side was rattling on kaccha roads. Costed around 8k rs.
Service Costs between 12k-15k per year.

Main Problems I faced 1) sometimes power windows backside doesn’t respond 2) company battery gone in 13 months 3) headlights are worst performs like cheap cars. ... CAR SERVICE- average 12,000/- per year .. BEST THING - Superb Automatic Car ... Driving Pleasure
Well said..its a premium car than japanese cars so cost of ownership is bound to be on higher side...usually nothing happens in terms of machinery but if it has a problem ...then you may bleed

@@pankajkumar-me1ry hahaha..bhai seriously bahut zarurat he gadi ki mujhy....last 2 yrs. se pedal hun....lekin final nahi kar paya....ye brands to bahut pasand hen aur ab kushaq n taigun ki design philosophy bhi...but himmat nahi ho rahi....i must admit that i found Nexon n EcoSport the best competitor in compact suv segment but nexon n EcoSport design from behind is not as expected. i was agree to compromise the backseat space in Eco but i dont like tyre at back..Modification done but irrelevant as its back door is still opens at side, not upward....
@@akeshwarprasad5337 Nexon and eco are no where near skoda. Driving dynamics ,ride comfort,solid built quality are benchmarks of skoda and as you know skoda is poor man's Audi in Europe.......and last but not the least skoda is 'simply clever'.
@@pankajkumar-me1ry fully agree n happy to manage a stretch upto 12&13 for base variant ..but problem is about trust..it will kill in parts un terms of unforseen technicals Or mechanical repairs which the bith brands failed to ensure till the date...i do believe that bith brands can blast indian+asian mkts.. but there are reasons for the poor men to think 1000 times before buying these...otherwise i love their build quality with design...
My polo had both steering column issue and front suspension issue. The steering column price is 60000 and front suspension assy in 40000.

My Rapid diesel 1.6L had major problems with engine. Mainly injectors blew off.
Other issue is electric equipment malfunction

I have a polo 2016 model, the side mirror was broken. To replace that side mirror it took 3 months in Allahabad. And I do not found it in local market. But I love VW polo, I have no problem with it. My next car will be VW.

3 sensors in 3 years, waiting for next as already display light is on for my rapid. Steering column replaced in first 6 month itself. Yes, service centre not available in Ur zone better avoid purchasing these cars. But drivability at this price range, other brands can't think about it. Service approach is improving in our area, especially social media involvement from top brass of company is good.
