Heck yeah dude. I've used weights like that, and of all sizes, to balance my glide in the sink. Still learning a lot when it comes to balancing, balasting, and tuning, from mistakes along the way, as well as watching numerous amounts of videos. Can't wait to get one over to you. Glad you're loving the technique!

What up brotha! Ive been "busy" doing some "R+D" proof of concept...."stuff", myself. I've been using tungsten putty on my front hook. But mostly catching some monster reservoir stripers and pig LMBs on anything I can (yeah, i'm totally not being professional about it, and being too random). The inside of my car looks like Omnia, Tackle Warehouse, and Bait-WRX partied too hard and puked all over the interior. I cant even let anyone ride with me because i've got loose hooks everywhere! I've literally been trying to fish everyday the last four weeks. Since the water temps finally dropped, the shad are finally taking a long break, and the "Bigs" are starting to scatter, so I finally get to take a break too! For a little bit anyway. They'll be planting rainbow trout in a bout a month or two.
Made a lot of mistakes in the beginning too, but learned from them, fortunately. Not a single costly backlash all season. lol.
I'm even being haunted by this +/- 10 pounder that broke me off right at the bank, two weeks ago. i even jumped in to grab it, but i messed up and tried to bear hug it. It easily slipped away out of my arms and between my legs. Along with my favorite spinnerbait still solidly pinned in its mouth. I tried to land it too fast and i had my drag cranked too high for the 30lb braid I was using. it shook its head and probably had plenty of tail leverage against the rocks it was laying across.
So I switched to 50lb braid, using 20lb big game for a leader, and immediately backing off the drag after a good hook set. Then I let them wear themselves down, letting them peel just enough line, so i'm not ripping out any hooks or making them go crazy by rushing them too soon. Works fine on some of the biggest land locked striper I've ever caught.
Here's the crazy part (seriously), I'm pretty sure that pig came back and tried to eat another one of my spinnerbaits this past Thursday. No kidding around. Same spot, same exact make and model, same retrieve... but a much more insulting response from it, IMO. At the end of my retrieve, just as my spinnerbait was about to leave the water for another cast, a big brownish green head appeared and literally chomps on it. But it missed the hook and ended up biting the larger #5 willow leaf blade off the end of my Spinner Bait! It hit really hard with a sharp impact. I over reacted when trying to set the hook... My spinnerbait comes shooting past my left knee, then into a large rock. When I inspect it, the last willow leaf blade, along with most of its swivel is completely missing! The only difference was that my trailer was half an inch shorter.
I wish I was making it up. Ive never seen anything like that ever happen!
I'll be waiting for it to come back next week, that's for sure! till then i'm gonna be playing around with my Anycubic Photon Resin 3D Printer. It's still sitting in its box since February! lol! (have to brush up on my Shaper3D commands.)
      tight lines!

Dude, I’m really surprised that you don’t throw big baits more. Since I went to the Swimbait Universe gathering back in April, I’ve been bit with the bug, I feel you on not wanting to pay 300 for a “boutique bait” though. The mass produced stuff fishes and catches just as well. One of the tips that I was given has helped me a lot though is “reel pops” it’s more about the reel pops than the rod twitches with a lot of glides. Try that and it’ll chop smoother than rod twitches

I just want to vent my frustration to all you mercury guys. I bought a 2022 Tracker 190 T X Tournament edition. With a Mercury 115 xs pro. Had the boat 1 year 2 months. 1st week I had it the wheel berings came out of it. Warranty covers. 2 months later ignition switch go's bad. Warranty covers it. Now my ecu has gone out. Warranty coverage. What pisses me off I had app this past Tuesday. This is now Thursday. He just called and told me he just found the problem and all the things he checked. That he put in 10 hours of Warranty work to mercury. So he's waiting on their approval then order part and probably be next week or week after before its ready. Wtf.!! You can't tell me a certified mercury tec. Took 10 frigging hours to find this problem. I believe if anyone takes a boat to dealer and their problem is Warranty covers. They milk the hell out of it. It's free money on labor and it's bullshit to the customer. I have bass tournaments every Friday nite. Does anyone else feel like I do???? Sorry but I have to get this out there. Thanks and tight lines everyone!!
