Can you answer a question here for me. Can you tell me how much urethane sealer I would need at a 4:1:1 mix ratio to put one medium coat down on my Ford F250 Superduty Regular cab with 8 foot bed. My ppg rep told me that one quart of sealer will do my whole truck minus the inside of the bed. Im new to painting and Im not saying that he is wrong but it just seems like that wont be enough
From eastern Ontario Canada and I just finished a school bus last Wednesday, starting a dump truck next week. Thanks for the video's, you can never know too much!
I grew up in Michigan, Ontario is beautiful in the summer. I enjoy hearing different perspectives on prep and paint and somtimes implement those into my process. Appreciate your comment and support!
Howdy, enjoy your channel and skill sharing. I’m in the Tampa Bay Area…just refinished a set of 18” aluminum rims for my son’s BMW, and used the Innokraft Drizzle gun. I have been a hobbyist painter for several decades and still learn something new with every project!
I'm glad my videos are still helpful! The Drizzle gun is awesome for detail work.
Hey so am from Trinidad, recently sprayed a new bumper cover. I did the sand with 400...prime....sand then base and clear an it came out great. Truly enjoy watching all your videos, very informative.
From San Jose, California. Working on a '71 Chevy truck at the moment. I don't always comment but I'm always watching. Thanks for the great videos Chris!
That's a cool project, I'm a big fan of classic trucks! Glad to hear you're enjoying my videos. Appreciate your support!
I’m from Edmond, Ok. I run my own small auto body business and I watch your videos if I’m having an issue I can’t figure out how to fix. Thanks for the videos and all the info. You’re really helpful.
Awesome a Fellow Okie appreciate the comment and support brother!
I just did a bare bumper a week ago and was searching for something like this. 😅
I knocked it out and happy to find out i did all the steps needed, I pick up tips from you and they stay locked in my brain during the process. Great videos, thanks!
Glad you found the video helpful! I'm happy to hear my tips are sticking.
I’m from eastern North Carolina I’m doing a restoration on a 1961 bel air and a 1983 4x4 Chevy custom deluxe. I also do a few salvage title vehicles a month, on top of working a full time job. I appreciate your videos, I’ve used a lot of your tips in my voyage of the paint and body world.
Wow, you're doing a lot of projects! Thanks for the support, it's good to hear my videos are helping!
I’m from The Bahamas. I watch your channel all the time
Oh that's nice! Bahamas would be nice right now! Appreciate your comment and support brother!
Bulldog makes an Adhesion Promoter Plus that's a sealer and adhesion promoter in one.
The Triggerman highly recommends it.
Live in Long Beach, Ca and I've been restoring my black '94 4Runner 4x4.
Getting ready to repaint the hood.
Oh, that's cool. I may have to check it out, I know there's other products that are great for raw bumpers.

That's a great project, I love the older BMWs!

I made a video that might help.

Hi Chris, very interesting video with a lot of helpful content, as you know I'm in the UK and we've had wind and rain storms pretty much constantly this winter (we had over 100mph winds here over the weekend) along with some sharp frosts of -6C (21F) no 2 days are the same which makes painting a problem but I am lucky to have a heater in my homemade booth which helps but it still feels damp in there but I still managed to put out some nice work so I'm happy with what I do🙏👍John UK
From the UK, I do family and close friends repairs. So bumpers etc. Service the same cars. Only a couple a year or less.
That's awesome, love that UA-cam can reach so many from all over the world.
Howdy, howdy love your channel. I'm from Edmonton and at present I've got a 2004 sienna new bumper cover just like yours to do along with the hood. Then I have a 2002 Jetta for a full body work paint job and then a 2017 Audi Q5 hood to repaint. Waiting for the stupid weather in Canada to warm up.
Gregory from Hungary. I am a DIY, will do a sun damage, a minivan's hood roof and shoulders, maybe the booth. It's a champagne metal color. It is a Citroen Xsara Picasso maybe check it out.
Love your content! ❤
Hungary, wow so cool. Champagne is not my favorite color to spray I really have to watch for mottling. I appreciate the comment and support brother!
I'm currently working on a 1960 F100. The 390 is in short block status, the truck is disassembled with the cab almost ready to be removed from the frame. I'm going to school for my admin credential at the same time as teaching special education at the same time, so it's been awhile since I've put in any work. The goal is everything is done with my hands. If I don't know how to do it, I will learn. I'm not farming anything out.
Sounds like you've got a great project on your hands, keep up the hard work! I admire the fact you want to do it all yourself! It's awsome to have tools like youtube and online learning to make this much easier. Appreciate your comment and support of the channel!
That came out real nice. Did you blend into the fenders?
Normally I would always blend into the fenders. If I think the color is gonna be a little bit off. I'll do a spray out and determine then if it's close enough not to blend. With this one, it was customer pay. He wanted to avoid the extra cost if at all possible. So I told him I'll check the color if it's close. Enough, where can get away with it. I won't blend. we were able to paint just the bumper snf panel paint it. It was just a shade off, but no more so than the rear bumper, so I felt comfortable letting it go like that.
@@GarageNoise yep been there before. As long as the customer is on the same page, no problem. Showing them the opposite bumper cover always helps. Most of the time, they had no idea the covers didn't match to begin with.
@WonTooForAte9 yeah, that's absolutely true. Most of the time they don't care as well, but I care so it need to be done to a certain standard.
I’m from Canada bc Fraser Valley and working on a 87 corvette convertible
Sounds like a fun project! If you or anyone wants to share photos of the project I'd love to share them to with the community send to garagenoise247@gmail.com
Beautiful and as always great instruction.. Cant wait to do hood roof of silver honda. TN. Base Paint brand never mentioned. Do you have a brand of choice. Never know what you use.
I use nason xl, decent color matching good coverage at a reasonable price.
From minnesota, i just finish scuffing, adhesive, and sealer primer, might need to hit it again when it gets warmer, might also need to go buy some 2k clear as the clear coat i bought doesnt say that anywhere, 1E3 base coat. Since it's cold here, I'll wait at least another week before working on it again. So far, the sealer primer sits pretty good on it from 3 hours ago
Minnesota winters can be brutal but I'm sure you'll get it done, good luck and thanks for the comment!
@GarageNoise thanks for the video, I'm going to use some of these tip for when I do the hood
Thanks for the video! Is it 2k base or 1k? I was told to use 2k for flexible parts. Did you use some flex additive as well? It seems it's not really used anymore but I would love to know what you think!
Yeah, my base is 1k no catalyst. I think most paints and clears don't need added flex agents these days . I know it was a thing and actually the adhision Promoter is a flex agent so I don't add anything.
Nice to know, thanks a lot!
Houston ,texas 94 obs full paint job
I need an OBS in my life been looking for the right one. Good luck with it. Appreciate the support brother!

What Tip size you used to spray the sealer? I have the same gun with 3 tip sizes (1.3, 1.5 and 1.7), and I use the same Upol Primer 2253?
I use the 1.3 for sealer ,base and clear. 1.5 for primer surfacer and 1.7 for high build primer. Hope this helps appreciate the comment and support!
@@GarageNoise Thanks a lot, indeed it helps.
What did you see in the spray that caused you to reduce the air pressure?
LA - Lower Alabama, on the Gulf Coast. Where are you located?
I'm in Oklahoma
If sealer is just reduced primer why not prime it instead if you want the most cushion
Is sealer primer?
How do you estimate the paint/clear needed when you paint parts of a car or the whole car for that matter?
Question about overspray with those guns, could I paint something on my driveway and not worry about overspray getting on my fence or house?
