I get so excited when you upload a video…I could watch your stuff for hours. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…you make some of the most informative DIY videos I think I’ve ever seen. They are always so detailed and well described that I think anyone feels confident to do these jobs.
Hey Chris, great video once again brother and it was great to see Daris do the complete job of base and clearcoat, I think he did a really nice job on the bumper, all he needs to do is improve his confidence and hone his style and he will make a damn good painter, I remember when I first started and had zero confidence with what I was doing but over time it will come so keep on practicing Daris and you will be doing it in your sleep👏🙏👍John UK
You have to create a book , your knowledge shows as your painting and prepping. I seriously wish you lived closer so I could just work at your shop for Free ! Just to learn ! Love your videos brother !!!
Great video. I'm going to paint my 71 Roadrunner in sublime green acrylic enamel single stage in a couple days. I have a few primer texture spots across the car. Will the single stage fill in these texture spots or do i have to sand them out?
Tip size for your base and clear ?? If you mentioned, so sorry for the question, but I must have missed it. In the middle of my 89 Toronado resto, and bumpers are next on the list.
I’m a upol primer guy myself. I love the stuff. What gun tip do you use if you use it as a sealer before the base coat? I usually use 1.7 for surfacer and 1.9 for high build. Thanks
What a useful video to do it as a home project!!!! And I got some questions about the technique. What grit of sandpaper to sand down the old paint? Is it just sand off the clear and leave the old base colour on the bumper? Also is the uv torch expensive ? Any wattages torch recommended to dry the uv filler?
The uv stuff I use is really inexpensive links are in the description. You don't need to remove clear just sand with 600 for adhesion of the base coat.

Do it! I have lots of videos on this top to help.
old darus is starting to look pretty handy around there
Another item for Daris focus on aside from wrist movement is keeping the trigger pulled and not keep releasing and triggering .
👍

Way to go, Daris!
Looks awesome. Good master and apprentice. Did you wet sand the clear coat or leave it as is?

1.3 and 1.5 I feel I get better results with the 1.5
That upol is the only primer I've been using for a while now
And I use a 1k sealer
damn super awesome, specifically with all the different edges. thats my biggest worry that I'll run clear from all those edges.
If the 2K runs it can be easy sand and buff out after it hardens.
The big issue is if the paint is a single stage...
Can I use low volume? Low pressure gun with my compressor eighty gallon compressor that I use my hvlp gun with?
Absolutely
Why don't you use the nason XL clear?
I haven't tried it yet but I will be trying some new clears
I might have missed it but did you prime back over the UV filler or go straight to basecoat?
He probably 400 it and 600 it by hand tiny block
Sanded and straight to base coat
@@GarageNoise Thanks!

I didn't find a tee shirt link, did anyone else?
At 18:36 when you talked about the dust particles, did you do anything about it or were they very small so you just left it?
We did a light wer sand and polish on it after we put it together.
You have some much room. Why you dont make a paint booth or room. Works so much better😊
