It's a fan made video. Freddie was very sick at recording this song in 1990, but he didn't stop and singing and making music kept him a bit more alive. It is almost unbelievable what freddie was capable of with his voice when he was already very ill. I am fascinated by his strength, determination and perseverance every time listening to this song. He was a musician and performer from top to toe. Pls, chek out Freddie's Great Pretender, because that song summerizes his career and life very well.
"The show must go on The show must go on, yeah Inside my heart is breaking My makeup may be flaking But my smile, still, stays on" 💔 I can't even imagine how he felt, singing this.🥺
He was dying, the song it's about his inevitable death and yet: SMILE (wich shows his bravery in life), this was recorded in ONE SHOT, no autotune. Freddie was UNIQUE
One of the greatest songs ever written majestically sung by our Freddie!! 😃💯 “We didn’t discuss what the meaning of the song was, but it was of course evident in the background that it was an attempt to give a voice to the feelings that Freddie’s valiant fight against AIDS created in all of us, and even in Freddie” explains guitarist Brian May years later! 💟 ☮️
Freddie was extremely ill when he recorded this song and could barely stand. Brian May, lead guitarist, wrote this song as a way for Freddie to say things he wouldn’t voluntarily say. Brian apologized to Freddie for all the high notes, but Freddie said “I’ll f***ing do it, darling” and had a swig of vodka as he leaned against the recording console. It’s said he did his vocals (lead) in one take. A-MAZING and strong, even though he was dying. He was Music! ❤️🥲❤️
@bluebell Here’s a direct quote: "The Show Must Go On" is a song by the British rock band Queen, featured as the twelfth and final track on their 1991 album, Innuendo. It is credited to Queen, but written mainly by Brian May.[3] The song chronicles the effort of frontman Freddie Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life, although his diagnosis with HIV/AIDS had not yet been made public in spite of ongoing media speculation claiming that he was seriously ill.[
@@barbaramendoza2202 yes Brian often gets the credit for the song and in later interviews does take most of the credit. Brian did most of the work on the song, it wasn't completely his composition but he fine tuned it, recorded the demo of the completed composition. Through the song is Roger and Johns chord sequence from their jam session, there is also a chord sequence inspired by pachelbels canon, it hasn't been claimed to be Freddies imput but I think it may have been as it's more his type of music. David Richards suggested a key shift second verse, Freddie may have also suggested tweaks Brian also polished up the lyrics and finished it off for the demo and finished all the mapping for the song ,so he did the most work to get it ready for recording as Freddie wasn't well. But they did write the song/lyrics together, Brian didn't write this by himself he wrote it with Freddie. on wiki it says both of them worked out the theme. 2014 Brian said on tv (ITV) nations favourite Queen songs Brian said that they hammered out the lyrics about a broken hearted clown whose smile was painted on, that Brian later added wings of a butterfly (though to me it sounds more like a Freddie lyrics) Express Brian said they spent the afternoon together and solidified the first verse,I'm assuming also the chorus that he had enough material to finish the two last verses,so they had worked out the entire content together but it needed polishing up. that Brian finished the mapping. Brian was only able to sing the demo in falsetto so thought as Freddie wasn't well he might not be able to sing it in chest voice.it wasn't about hitting high notes but singing in a high range which is difficult to pronounces words without cracking. the theme probably came from Freddie as he was inspired by vesti Guibba from pagliacci for the intro of his song hard life. vesti is about a broken hearted clown who still performs, the show must go on! and this was very much Freddies attitude even before he was ill but especially when he was ill.
Fantastic! Subbing for Queen. Thanks for the great reaction. This video is from VinzA who said - "So this song has unfortunately never been played live… To make this clip I needed 153 shots from Live Hungarian Rhapsody and a lot of patience. ” Great job by VinzA and Thanks for sharing this.
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THE REACTIONS YOU'VE BEEN DOING FOR QUEEN & FREDDIE! I know you've been informed that this is a fan-made montage because Freddie was never actually able to perform this song live. It is the opinion of myself and some others, that - although the person who made this did an admirable job with the video footage - the AUDIO of Freddie's vocals in this, is NOT AS GOOD as in the original recording/official music video. SO... even if you don't do another reaction for this/ and therefore only for yourself, PLEASE listen to/watch the ORIGINAL sometime! (Here's the link) ua-cam.com/video/t99KH0TR-J4/v-deo.html
It's a very clever video (kudos to the person who made it) but it looks like the 1986 Magic Tour and "The Show must go on" wasn't recorded until 1990 and not released until Oct. 1991, 6 weeks before Fred died. You can see how frail he is in his last video "These Are the Days of Our Lives" (recorded Nov1990). His last song is "Mother Love", which he never got to finish (Brian sings the last verse).
No es el video original, nunca llegó a hacerlo ya que partió antes 😥😥😥 El vídeo puedes encontrarlo en la página oficial y está formado de recopilaciones de videos y momentos de Queen, Freddie 😔👑🌠✨💫
If I'm not mistaken, this is not actually a video of a live performance of this song. Fantastic song, though. You should check out Queen + Adam Lambert performing it.
You're correct. Freddie was too sick by the time they did this song. He looked very different in the official, studio video. It's an excellently edited video though. I can read lips and even in the brief clips that show Freddie, his mouth movements correspond quite well to the song lyrics.
@@ROYALTEHILLAHTVREACT I initially thought this was a video i must of missed somehow and perhaps what i heard online wasn't true and he did perform this, But didn't take long for the penny to drop. The guy done a pretty good job of it.

Very well made video. Because they never had chance to perform it live. Freddie was at his last legs when he sang this masterpiece... :(
it's amazing tho, totally looks like they're performing The Show Must Go On in 1986🤣
