@@ianscianablo8507 Hi! I use pie weights and bake crust at 425° F for 16 minutes. I remove the pie weights brush egg wash and bake for another 3 minutes. I hope this helps!
You are right owas waiting for the cubes of butter folded in the rolled pastry then rolled again several times that's how you get puff pastry this is coming someone who doesn't bake I only cook

The trick is not to overwork the dough. I use this recipe all the time for all my pies and they turn out nice and flaky.
Sorry to say.. that's shortcrust pastry.. not flaky pastry.
