Elegance & finess. Brilliant performance! Johnny Crawford has such a beautiful style & a beautiful, mellow masculine voice, so smooth & velvety. Johnny has such incredible talent, he sweeps me away to live & experience a different place in time, a more preferable place in time. Thank you Johnny for sharing your musical gifts with us, a grateful & mesmerized audience.
i CAN'T BELIEVE this guy had the chops to play country pop music and the whole late 20's early30's style of swing sound , just INCREDIBLE!!! ... And above it all, being an ACTOR!!! What a talent ... RIP Johnny Crawford!!
He had a "vintage" band at one time, and I'd read that they played at a restaurant in downtown L.A. called Cicada. The place was an art deco palace in the Oviatt Building on Olive Street. I had dinner there one Friday evening back in January, '08, but, unfortunately, there was no band there at the time.
What a find. Johnny singing beautifully along side Peter's masterful piano, all done live. This pared back presentation allows the words to be recognised and understood. This is partly because Peter lays back while Johnny is singing and then ups the volume with fills etc between lines and during solos. The sign of a great piano player who knows how to allow the singer to come through. Wow.
Grieving just now. So sad to hear of Johnny’s passing. He was one incredibly talented fella. (Love the marvelous piano as well). Thanks so much for posting. 🌹😔
The only one left bringing back the wonderful songs of Irving Berlin, George Gershin, and others from the romantic era of 20´s and 30´s. I wish I could smile as easy as you R.I.P.
The "Clouds" CD is pretty hard to find these days. It's downloadable, but a lot of us old guys prefer good ol' physical media. Over the past five or more years, I've had to loan my copy to three people who want it on their phones but would sure like to put the album on a shelf, as well.
His September 1989 appearance on the TODAY show, with an intelligent interview by Jane Pauley, showcases his dry humor and humble grace. This not to mention a swinging rendition of "And So Do I" with his trio.
Johnny was a man of many talents. He left us way too soon.
Wow, really terrific voice, I'm floored.

Johnny Crawford voice is amazing. The music and the singing were really fantastic.
Multitalented..
Amazing voice, never knew he was so talented. Rip Johnny C
A fabulous duo. Depression Era pop tunes are my favorite. Mintun and Crawford are two of the best performers.
what a good pianist too !
RIP Johnny. You were fantastic.
He sounds exactly like the sounds of the 30’s.R.I.P.,Johnny...you will be missed.

This is the best music ever reminds me of the Tin Pan Alley era.
Pretty amazing. Captured days of yesteryear.

I'm so glad I found this. (or it found me...) Thank You for posting.
Sublime!
I wish all these recordings (that are not on the Sweeping The Clouds Away CD) could be collected and put on a CD. A nice final tribute.
