As a disclaimer, I don't have perfect pitch or a formal music background, so I'll tell you based on my own experience. I would recommend learning chords from the bossa nova standards to expand chords vocabulary and get familiar with bossa nova (if you haven't already). Many of the chords can be applied to other bossa nova songs. Chorus part was difficult for my ears until I decided to use Abm6#5 after Am7. I borrowed the movement from Corcovado (iirc) and it fits quite well. For other tricky chords, I usually fumbling around with chord variations (learned from the standards) and use feeling. By feeling, I mean recognizing how each chord evokes your emotions. Major sounds stable and full. Minor sounds melancholy. maj7 sounds like major but floaty. #m7b5 sounds sad yet jarring. It stands out so much that I sometimes recognize it right away. 13 sounds like a flirty maj7 and usually high-pitched, and so on. Some of these may not make sense to you as everyone may has different book of emotions towards each chord. You can also try finding chords starting from its most treble note first, especially when it sounds so high-pitched. Then look for other notes and see what's the name of the chord. I found the Dm6/9 on the intro using this method. Sounds unprofessional but it works. Other tools like circle of fifth can also help.

One way could be to write the tab manually using software like TuxGuitar and then export it. But I can't think of a time to actually learn and do it 😅
ive been searching so long for this, How would you recommend hearing the chords by ear to learn other songs in the bossa nova collection?
