I never could figure this out with the HX. Your explanation was more straight forward than other videos I have watched. Now it’s time to experiment. Thanks
Eric. Many thanks for this. I was confused with the role of cc20, I couldn't work out whether it was controlling gain or the master volume of the overdrive channels. On the Boss MS3 I find if you turn the MIDI Clock Out option OFF in the main menu MIDI settings, then you can have your boost/reverb/powersoak/etc settings reserved and sent to the AMP1 on selection of a preset. Also, when in the MIDI edit mode pressing the on/off switch on the MS3 will transmit the change to the AMP1. Really helpful if you can't remember which CC number does what!
Hi, the issue at around 11:00 min. can be solved if you add a slight delay to the cc command. Using the hx stomp I found out that e.g. 100 ms delay is enough for the cc command to be recognized when the patch (pc) is switched together with the cc. Don’t know if it’s possible to delay the cc command on the ms-3 though.
@@DutchGuitarDude I also found out that other midi settings such as gain and power soak are saved when the amp1 is learning the program change number via midi (after holding the reverb button). I guess the learned settings have priority when recalling a preset via midi and simultaneously sent cc messages are ignored unless they are delayed.
I am trying to control the Amp1 silver ed with the Boss GX100 but control change isn't working .....also I have to tap twice when sending prg change. Anyone?
hi my Amp 1 iridium does not communicate via midi with the ms3 pedal board, in fact when I do the "learning" procedure if I click the boss button, nothing happens, the plusante amp1 stops flashing after a few seconds by itself, in any case it does not work for me without a channel change or midi control change, I have the midi cable 1 and in addition I had to make the midi cable, which as I have seen from the midi 1 has only two cables ... can you solve?
@@DutchGuitarDude maybe I was able to get it to work, but the "learning" procedure doesn't work, even the channels don't match well, but it still works! changing the clok does not change anything, on the contrary, it eliminates a bit of hum, thanks
@@DutchGuitarDude now nothing works anymore, as soon as I do the learnig I have to turn off the amp 1 and then I move the channel changes of a position or I invert them, u mess!
@@DutchGuitarDude I think I broke my amp1. Was trying to program and now the reverb wont blink after keeping boost pressed. I tried a reset of the unit and same thing ☹️

No you cant delay the cc. But thats the problem yes. Too many cc at same time

Make sure midi clock on the boss is off
@@DutchGuitarDude I already tried that but it made no difference
Hello Eric! May I know what kind of midi cable do you use between Amp1 and ms-3?
Yes its the special midi adapter from bluguitar, with a very short midi cable to my ms3.

My friend, how do you know what CC controls what? I couldn't find any documents about it
It's in the manual.
@@DutchGuitarDude I found it. Thank you so much. Do you use a TRS cable?
@@the92project I use the special cable from bluguitar. Trs to midi

2:35 Hi Eric, I noticed slight latency or gap when you're switching between channels. I wonder if that's from Amp1 or MS-3? Thank you!
I have to turn down volume when i speak. I do that afterwards in my video editor. That sometimes results in this way.
Hi, I did what you do in the video, but noting changes on amp 1.
Do you have boss ms3?
@@DutchGuitarDude Yes
Check if midi clock is off in menu of boss ms3
@@DutchGuitarDude Now on preset 1 on the ms3 I put pc1 and amp 1 goes to classic channel.
