You see I like this interviewer, he didn't try too hard or pretend to fake an interest like soooo many others do. He just got on with it, everything flowed and it was just a good interview lol
He's right about Pantera, too. They are from my hometown and there was a time that I ended up at their house at a party. Door open. Come on in. Didn't even know I was at their house until they started playing.
Dave Grohl, cracks me up. Pat sitting attentively, "Thank you." Nobody has to say much coz Dave will take it anywhere you want to go. He's here, he's there, he's freaking EVERYWHERE, man. Unstoppable force. :>)
ILikechipsandham97 lol they're not relevant anymore. They wanna focus on other stuff, waiting so long to release an album messes up a bands popularity.
no one drank more than Pantera man. Phil Anselmo wasn't bullshitting when he said they were THE biggest drinkers in the industry. out of the mouth of Dave Grohl, they were the band that went busting down doors trying to share their whisky with everybody.
ive seen two other interviews from other reputable stations etc that were done in this same room, with dave and pat, i'm assuming they were done one after another on the same day, that must get soooooooooo arse achingly boring even with good interviews like this one, maybe this one broke up the monotony of interview after interview.
But Pop music as it is today is recorded using computer technology and autotune and make songs as repetitive as possible. The Foo Fighters NEVER did that. Are they mainstream? - Yes. But are they pop? - Hell no!
Well, when walking into a mall I hear a lot of pop and I hear autotuned vocals, songs that do away with bridges which makes them sound incredibly monotonous. And if they do a cover tune they take away anything that makes that song meaningful. Case in point: Jason Blue scored a monster hit with "Fast car", now look up the original version of that song by Tracy Chapman. That song is about trying to escape a mundane life. When Chapman's version goes to the Chorus, the chords and intensity of the song changes, lifting the whole song up. Jonas Blue's version omits that change completely. I'm a musician myself and I tend to look at eighties pop for inspiration because of it being diverse, here's a list of pop songs from the eighties, look them up and be amazed by the fact that they were all sharing the charts as in modern day charts they could never be in the same list. - Miami Sound machine - Falling in love (Uh-oh) - Billy Ocean - Loverboy - The Outfield - Your love - Arcadia - Election day - Sade - Hang on to your love
Pat is great, just sitting there holding his mic like a fine glass of wine 😂
Hahahahah, greatest comment of the internet today
You see I like this interviewer, he didn't try too hard or pretend to fake an interest like soooo many others do.
He just got on with it, everything flowed and it was just a good interview lol

So badass to hear Dave talk about Pantera! I didn't expect that lol The Foo's are really cool guys
He's right about Pantera, too. They are from my hometown and there was a time that I ended up at their house at a party. Door open. Come on in. Didn't even know I was at their house until they started playing.

Amazing Interviewer, great framing of the questions and very thoughtful but not boring!

ILikechipsandham97 lol they're not relevant anymore. They wanna focus on other stuff, waiting so long to release an album messes up a bands popularity.
Love how Dave mentioned Newcastle! (I live there btw)
Top interview - top interviewer - topper interviewees!!
Pat Smear is trying to figure out how to light the mic
We can smoke this right?
no one drank more than Pantera man. Phil Anselmo wasn't bullshitting when he said they were THE biggest drinkers in the industry. out of the mouth of Dave Grohl, they were the band that went busting down doors trying to share their whisky with everybody.

Ringo is left-handed too, and he also plays a right-handed drum set.

E. Namayan ur profile pick is awesome!
Dave Grolsch! That would be great! Beer from my region.
Should be more Dave Grohl speak to Planet Rock's Wyatt Haha
Dave awesome... Grohl... (;
Nice. Dave looking like a recluse Jeff Goldblum, and Pat Smear, like he's the newest member of the Hair Club For Men
foo fighters interviews are all Dave Grohl interviews now a days lol, well pretty much have always been
wish Krist was a Foo
Sound mix is pretty bad, kinda sucks for a music related channel

Those cheesy amateurish mics...

Dave is great but sometimes I wish he’d let other people talk. Haha
Hahaha why even mention the legend pat smear if dave wont let the guy spew a sentence at least ! Lol
I’ve noticed from interviews with Pat that he genuinely just seems quite quiet. I think he prefers to let other people talk more
Justin Timberlake is just a cool ass guy so I’m sure it was fun
Few $... Great feelings... Jack black... 🎙
... 📱 anxiety
Wife? It occurs to me that I have apparently always erroneously assumed Pat Smear was gay
🍋..
Dave looks a little similar to Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Did Dave get his tats blemished ?
Nicholas 🌈
Wow, they really hated that guy
Pat didn’t even speak wtf
Oh shit, what's that on the floor......oh, it's a 100 name drops.
Dave Grohl still trying to convince us and himself that he is in a "garage band". Foo Fighters is about as pop as you can get.
But Pop music as it is today is recorded using computer technology and autotune and make songs as repetitive as possible. The Foo Fighters NEVER did that.
Are they mainstream?
- Yes.
But are they pop?
- Hell no!
You haven't hear much pop, have you?
